4.7 (88 reviews)

Unforgettable holidays are made at award-winning Studfold in the Yorkshire Dales. This is camping, glamping and caravanning at its best. Nestled in the emerald-green patchwork of the Yorkshire Dales near Pateley Bridge, you’ll enjoy breath-taking views, fantastic amenities and the freedom to relax with extra-wide pitches. There’s a warm, good old-fashioned Yorkshire welcome too.

There is a warm Dales welcome waiting for you at Studfold caravan, camping and glamping park. Whether you’re a family with children, couple, or sole adventurer, you’ll love the Nidderdale Experience. There’s so much to enjoy, and wonderful surroundings to relax in.

We have 38 extra large, flat, well-drained grass pitches for tents, caravans, camper vans and motorhomes, 26 with electric hook-up. And we have four locally made, exciting glamping pods, situated at the edge of the field, each able to sleep a family of four (two adults and two children), or a maximum of three adults. The pitches and glamping pods are organised for maximum space and comfort for all, and are very near to the large, level play area for children, perfect for ball games and running around. There is also access to the beck trickling alongside the campsite where children love to play and build dams. Fun for the little ones too, but they will need an adult with them.

Our outstanding facilities include electric hook ups, sparkling-clean toilet and shower block, as well as undercover cooking and socialising shelter (invaluable in wet weather), fire pits and WIFI vouchers. We also have the wonderful Nidderdale Way Cafe run by Julia, where you can enjoy an easy, delicious breakfast, as well as homemade snacks and treats throughout the day (weekends and local school holidays only).

What sets Studfold apart from other sites is that there is so much to do, on and off the site. Our famous Adventure Trail, renowned for its fairies and celebration of all things nature is part of Studfold, and is a fantastic family attraction, right on your caravan, tent or pod doorstep! If you book the Trail online as part of your stay you will get 2 days of entry for the price of 1 (dependent on the Trail being open).

The Lost Earth Adventures activities are also readily available. And there are many beautiful walks, of all ability levels, starting from Studfold. You’ll find an amazing Yorkshire Dales base at Studfold for exploring Nidderdale and North Yorkshire.

Lovely site and location

Llewhellin, David - 09/07/2024

Lovely site with excellent clean facilities, good sized pitches and stunning views. Great location with variety of walks from the site including the Nidderdale Way and How Stean Gorge only minutes away. We stayed for 3 nights during the week in term time so was very quiet but imagine this site gets very busy on weekends and school holidays. Definitely a site we will return to.

Response from the owner

09 July 2024

Thank you for leaving a review. In response we do warn visitors that reception may well be closed during quiet midweek term time dates, this is the first paragraph on our information sheet that is sent as a pdf with your booking email and that you are expected to read as part of the T & C’s of staying at Studfold. We also put a notice board outside reception with contact details on it and would have arranged to meet you at reception if you had made contact.I am sorry you feel this spoilt your stay but the alternative of manning reception from 9 until 5 during quiet times is not financially viable for a small family run business.

Lovely family campsite which is safe for children.

Keep, Laura - 29/06/2024

The campsite is set in beautiful countryside. The facilities are clean. We were lucky and had warm, sunny weather. There were lots of children and it was lovely that they could play together and you could keep your eye on them. The fairytrail is a great family activity, and How Dean cafe was great to visit. The main annoying thing were the amount of midges which came out late afternoon. There were so many that we couldn't sit outside and came home with lots of bites. Make sure you take insect repellent!

Family fun and freedom

Wanless, David - 21/06/2024

The folks at Studfold have done an amazing job. They pay such attention to detail and understand the needs of families and children especially. The facilities are spotless. The cafe serves very tasty food and I can highly recommend the picnic lunches that are delivered to the barn on the fairy walk. We had a two year old and a seven year old and they were fully entertained and enthralled. We will definitely be there again.

Great campsite

Matthews, Karen - 20/06/2024

The campsite was lovely, easy to find your pitch and lots and lots of space so you didn’t feel on top of one another. Toilets and showers were extremely clean, one of the cleanest I’ve seen and large washing up area. Could get fire pits from reception if wanted and wifi packages. The only negative comment I have is that there was no internet connection and you could only purchase wifi from reception and this obviously closed early in the day. There was a lovely little adventure trail for children to find fairy houses and rabbits along a lovely walk that you could book on to. Over all a beautiful, peaceful campsite that was great for families or couples

Lovely campsite

Hill, Emily - 20/06/2024

Facilities were clean, staff were so helpful, the fairy walk was lovely and the little picnic that gets delivered to the top barn was a great touch to tell my little girl the fairies had delivered it, location 10/10 although just be aware there isn't any phone signal. River runs by the side of the site which is great for kiddies / dog swimming. The gorge walk and cafe about 200m up the road is good too. The breakfast at the campsite on site was huge. The cafe has a little indoor play room which is ideal for having a hot drink if its chucking it down.
