We had such a great time, stayed in the pod for 2 nights-they were a lot warmer than expected as we stayed September and packed for the arctic just in case! The site is well suited to families with the play area and field, fire pit perfect for toasting marshmallows, the shared area of seating near reception is a great idea. We did the Fairy Trail which was brilliant with a picnic from the cafe, we walked round to How Stean Gorge and did the trail for families walking in the cave to finish. The location is perfect for walks and scenery, had children with us from ages 3 to 12, enjoyed a treck down to the river below the campsite and we visited the local homemade ice cream Meadowdale which was delicious and about 15 minute walk. Thankyou for having us we will be back

This is an excellent campste very clean and very large pitches with electricity the toilet block and washing up facilities were very good very friendly staff and Ann was so kind to me when felt faint even took us back to our site we found a lovely pub 10 mins walk from the camp site the Royal Oak the welcome we received was so welcoming they did a variety of gluten free home made food which was delicious 😋 we hope to return in next year kind regards Rosemary and Bill

We live fairly locally but fancied a last minute night away. The location is great with lots to do on your doorstep. There are also two great pubs in walking distance. The facilities are clean with everything you need. A good addition would be a play park - the play area refers to an area to play football rather than a park.We hired a fire pit which made our night.The only thing that let it down was that everything we read said that the cafe was open every weekend and school holidays. We hung around for breakfast but it didn't open. We went next door instead.

Our second time visiting and certainly won’t be our last. All the staff are lovely, friendly and there to help with any issues you may have. Great facility’s and very clean. Highly recommend

Lovely location, peaceful site, owners helpful, facilities good. Great area for walking, two good pubs in walking distane.

Fabulous first camping trip along with friends who are avid campers. Beautiful site, well thought out facilities and lovely little touches like washing up liquid and cloths in the basin area of the toilets.

Stayed with my 7 year old daughter. Daddy daughter time etc. Really enjoyed site, staff very friendly and approachable. Campsite itself the pitches and areas layout excellent. Cleanliness excellent Price excellent value for moneyStaff excellentActivities very good / excellent Facilities excellent Things could improve but not essential as already an excellent standard are..maybe light up the path road ways around site to grass pitches using a few solar lights. However guests should have torches. So I suggest this as a going above and beyond recommendation etc.Also extend the little play area In corner of field and light it up a little. I suggest this as although have a play area in the grounds of the adventure trail, that is out of bounds once open trail hours have closed. It just from a personal point of view. I had was my 7 year old daughter loved the play area during trail. So extending park on pitch site will be a huge and worthwhile commitment. Fantastic site

We had a brilliant time. Facilities are clean ,the site is in a really good spot . There is a a short walk to Sten gorge ,definitely worth a visit also a lovely walk to Scar House reservoir The staff are really friendly, we were invited to enter the Smite competition by Ian the owner even though we were going home on the day of the event. We ended up staying an extra night to enter, we didn't regret it .It was a fun event and everyone was so friendly.We will definitely be back for the Smite competition and to take our grandchildren on the fairy trail. Had a lovely stay despite the weather, did the trail rain just about held off kids loved it,Staff very helpful and friendly Excellent sized pitches Only gripe which is no fault of the owners and out of their hand is phone signal,But you can buy WiFi access which I think should be free as I’ve been elsewhere for less cost and it’s been free But good stay
