Street Head Caravan Park

If you are looking for a well maintained campsite with stunning views of the countryside from your pitch, where you can relax with family, friends and your dog, a wonderful pub next door and friendly, approachable and helpful owners then you have found the right place.

At Street Head Caravan Park we have pitches for privately owned static caravans, seasonal and touring caravans, motorhomes, campervans, tents and everything in between.

We endeavour to ensure all areas of our park are clean, tidy and maintained to a high standard.

We were so happy to open our new facilities block in Spring 2021. Except for the laundry, which is near the cottage, all shared facilities are in a new block between the touring and camping fields.

Our on-site facilities include:

Shower Block

We have separate rooms for gents and ladies. The new shower cubicles are spacious and have a drying area with seat to make changing easier. As well as toilets and wash basins, you will find soap, sanitiser, hand dryers, hair dryers and large mirrors provided for your convenience.

Washing-up Room

Our indoor washing up room has 3 sinks, washing up liquid is provided so you don't need to remember it and to make the job a little more pleasant, the large windows offer views across Bishopdale. Here you will also find our Tourist Information area, a fridge and freezer, books and some activities such and jigsaws, playing cards, colouring books and crayons to use during your stay.

Laundry Room

Should you need to do any washing during your stay, a washing machine and dryer are available for your use as well as an iron and ironing board.

Bins and Recycling

Large commercial bins can be found in both the touring field and near the cottage in the upper static field, please only put bagged general waste and dog waste in these bins.

Bought some new equipment for your caravan or tent and can't take the obsolete cardboard boxes home? Well you don't need to, we will recycle these for you, please flatten and slide beside the commercial bins near the cottage.

Grey and Chemical Waste

We have disposal points for both grey and chemical waste close to the toilet and shower block. Please use this area only for disposal of liquids.

Electric Hook Up

All pitches in the main touring field and most pitches in the camping field are available with electric hook up (10 amp).

Arrival and Departure Times

You are welcome to arrive any time after 1.30pm

Departure is before 12 noon

Pets

We welcome pets to our site and have had the pleasure of meeting many wonderful breeds over the years, please do not be offended if we remember your pet's name and not yours. While most pets visiting are dogs, we ask that all are under control and taken off site for toileting and cleaned up after immediately (extra bags are available at reception if you run out). We ask that dogs be on a lead at all times while on site. Please take care when walking in the local area, especially when passing through fields with farm animals.

Noise

We try to run a happy campsite where everyone can enjoy themselves. Please help us by playing music at a level you can enjoy but will not disturb your neighbours. Quiet time is between 10.30pm and 8am and during these hours we ask for no unavoidable noise

Facilities include:-

Modern facilities block (opened May 2021) between the touring and camping field comprising of separate male and female washrooms with free hot showers, toilets and washbasins, hand dryer, hair dryer and shaving point. Washing up room with 3 sinks (washing up liquid provided), small fridge and freezer, tourism information, books, puzzles and games.

Chemical and grey waste disposal point.

WiFi is currently available near the cottage only. Mobile reception and 5G is available for those on the EE network.

Great location and clean facilities

Great location to go exploring the local area, lovely and quiet but you don’t feel isolated, lovely pub right at the edge of the site. Toilets and showers excellent, always clean and lovely hot water in the showers with plenty of space for your things. Only one negative was the we couldn’t get tv reception but this may have been as we were under an electric pylon but this wasn’t a problem. Great phone signal for those who need it with 3 but not so great with Vodafone. It was the end of the season so very quiet but we liked that. Would definitely come again, some lovely walks close by. A dog walk on site would be a great addition.

Great site in lovely surroundings, The new toilet block are a real plus very clean at all times of day and showers with free hot water.We were last minuet booking this trip but the lady in charge could not have been more helpful even putting a name board on the pitch.The surrounding area is lovely with the market town of Leyburn a short drive, the water fall of West Burton and Aysgarth falls a couple of miles away. Hawes another little gem of a place a short drive away You have to see the larger than life Wallis and Gromit knitted figures,All in all a good site for walkers or a peaceful w/end away. Only downside pub not open every day.Will defo be back again

We really wanted to like this site as it had beautiful views and the nearby pub was lovely...BUT...the pitch was tiny, just about enough space to park the car alongside the caravan but that left no real sitting out space. We had even taken along a brazier to have a little fire in the evening (as permitted in the site info) but it would have been totally impractical...we had motorhomes each side of us and it was just too cramped.It is the ONLY site we have visited in all our caravanning years where we never met the owners...there was no welcome from them...you know, just popping down to say hello to see if everything was ok...nothing. I went up to the house twice during our four night stay, rang the bell, nobody ever came. Had they been urgent requests I would have phoned the two numbers we had and I'm sure they would have answered...but, well...they werent urgent things.On the positive side the showers and toilet facilities were excellent...Sorry to be so negative - unusual for m

We struck gold with this one. Lovely little site next to a pub and surrounded by beautiful quaint villages. Owner very friendly and helpful. We wanted to walk and borrowed ordnance survey map from reception for a deposit, Great idea. Toilet/shower facilities were clean and hot, looked new. Aysgarth falls are a must to visit along with West Burton. nearby village of Thoralby is lovely and we spotted a barn owl flying about, beautiful.

The tent pitches were spacious and well kept.Facilities included very modern and clean toilets, showers, washing up room with a fridge.We only saw the owners twice and they were very friendly and readily available if you had a problem.Nice pub next door with good beer and WiFi accessibility. Will suit people who like sheep,cows ,quiet and beautiful views.

We really enjoyed our stay. The site was very clean, the facilities were modern and spotless. The owners were very friendly and happy to answer any questions. The only thing to make it better would be a sign in the road from the West Burton end indicating the touring caravan entrance. There’s a good sign from the Kettlewell side. We would definitely stay there again if in that area.

Lovely quiet campsite next to a pub serving meals dogs welcome in both ..Toilets were very clean and modern .. wash up areas are same very clean and modern with fridge and freezer to put your items in .also lockers to put your food in too ... Lovely views and close to Aysgarth Falls and surrounding towns and villages ..

The site is nice and quiet with good walking nearby. Good, clean shower and toilet facilities. We were a bit disappointed with our pitch as there was no grass area alongside to sit out. All the pitch sizes were fairly small compared to other sites.
