Very good value friendly welcome good amenities Very clean good security pub down the road close to some lovely little villages with good shops for your day to day needs close to durham city will definitely go back
Shower block very poor condition no heating some of the caravaners are old and in a poor condition. The stand pipes frozen when frosty some van discharge waste water all over the ground and drained down on to the next level down the side of the siteI will not visit this site again and would not recommend it
Loverly site couldn’t stay the full two nights we booked for as woke up to snow on Saturday morning too cold in our camper
Excellent camp site, good facilities. Very nice and helpful owners. Would recommend this site to you all.
As there are not many sites which stay open all year it was great here. Beamish Museum is a MUST place to visit and so close to the site
This could be a really excellent campsite with s few alterations..hard standing pitches need improvement, our allocated pitch was very muddy, it needs proper pebble or chippings laying, but we were allowed to move over to the grass. Door to Ladies toilets permanently open, so always cold in there, granted it was November. Maybe use a keycode system. No WiFi on site, not a deal breaker, but unusual these days. Would have been great to say Hi to Adam and Louise instead of only phone contact. Situated off a very busy road, the pitches on the lowest level would be quite noisy. On the plus side, super location, very scenic, only a few miles from Durham or the coast. Great directions on our confirmation. Tearoom and minibar on site, which had closed the weekend before we arrived, we were advised of this by Adam when I made our booking. Facilities very clean, handy water points and loo disposal. Excellent value at £22 per night in November.
