What a shame the site wasn't away from the busy road it was constant through the day and only slightly better at nightWe visited the site because it had food available but that was hit n miss and no solid serving and opening times posted. We went to get a meal around 5.00 pm was advised it would be about an hour as they had gone to cash n carry, so we had a drink no problem, when the guy returned after over an hour he told us it would be about another hour as he didn't normally do food on a Wednesday.Luckily we had food in our van so we didn't wait
We had a two night stay it was amazing from start to finish the cafe is beautiful and the food even better! The horse box food was lovely and nice cold drinks whilst watching the kids play on the park was great! Thankyou
Basic campsite but very friendly nice communal area for drinks and outdoor tv food in cafe expensive there is food bar but did not open till late so didn’t get to try food there although seems a lot cheaper than cafe . Only 2 showers cleaned spotless by cleaner . Stayed on the premier pitch which were secluded by trees ideal in heat and away from mthe main campsite so quieter but downfall was the main road adjacent to the pitches which was very busy and kept us awake all night .
Great family ran site.Exelent little snack bar.and drinks.
The campsite itself is beautiful, we booked for two nights but left after the first night because the pitches were covered in dog poo and our children couldn’t really run around
We stayed here as a couple but had originally booked to go with our granddaughter. Its worth noting that some of the pitches need a bit of work to level the unit but blocks are provided. The toilet block is a bit of a trek and we didnt use. On the plus side everyone is really friendly and an amazing cafe and food wagon with great homemade cakes. Lovely site.
I don't have any complaints as such just a couple of points. One of the female showers seemed to be blocked, so water filled the tray and then leaked out. The park is lacking and is only really for small children, if something larger was on the horizon, may keep some of the bigger kids occupied, similar if there was a little football area maybe. Other than that it was a beautiful site and we really enjoyed it. Staff were great. Snack bar was gorgeous and we will definitely be back. Thank you
Positives - the man on arrival was lovely, polite and approachable.Negatives - there were at least 5 dog poos on our pitch on arrival and it stunk. The pitches were far too close together, I understand the more pitches equals more business but it was ridiculously close meaning there was no space for the children to play without feeling cautious about other peoples property/belongings.We went on the 'dog walk' which took all of 3 minutes maximum. There is a little 'park' which is one item and there were children climbing on the roof of this and swearing which made our children feel uncomfortable and not wanting to play in the area. We felt quite limited on site as there was no other walks possible from the site. We arrived around 5pm on the Friday and had booked 2 nights, we left by 10am Saturday morning as we felt so uncomfortable on site and were very disappointed by the site/amenities. The toilet/shower block are in desperate need of a clean and update.
We can’t fault our stay here, we received a warm welcome and the campsite is lovely. Food from Giddy up was fab. We played a few games of bingo on Friday night ran by the owners daughter and had our fire pit and wood etc delivered by the owners son. We enjoyed our breakfast in the tea room. The little park is enough to keep the kids entertained. Showers/toilets and dishwashing areas were spot on. We all had an amazing time. The only thing I would say if you are a light sleeper bring some earplugs for the sound of the nearby road, it didn’t bother us but it was noticeable if you wake in the night. I definitely wouldn’t let it out you off though. It’s far enough away that you don’t need to worry about exploring kids getting close to it. We used it as a base to visit Broom House farm and activity centre which was really enjoyable for kids and adults. We’ll definitely visit again.
We enjoyed the site. The atmosphere. The bingo. The food and the bar. We didn’t like the toilet and shower facilities. They were always dirty. Toilet seats broken. We didn’t use the showers as they weren’t clean. We noticed people from the caravan section emptying their toilet waste down the toilets and not in a specially marked disposal area.
