First time spent a Pod with my puppy dog.*pod close to toilet/shower block*close to swimming pool *excellent walking around the Holiday Park*quiet at night *very friendly site , other campers and staff always someone available to help*ev charging point on site was very usefulSadly unable to use the Bbq provided with the Pod due to excessive summer heat and potential fire hazardGreat "Curry pop up shop " provided by local caterers.
First time visiting Smytham park. Staff were very friendly and helpful a very clean and tidy site although the weather was against us we still enjoyed the heated pool. Will definitely stay again.
The staff on site were lovely, it has a really relaxing laid back atmosphere. We loved the pod, the facilities were clean and not too busy. We enjoyed the pool and also hiring bikes. The location is brilliant for walks and visiting nearby places like Westward Ho! and Appledore. The price was quite expensive for a pod but understandable given it was August and the facilities on the site were great. We really appreciated having a fridge and kettle in the pod. It would be nice to have something inside the pod to attach the dog to, so that we could keep the door open without the dog escaping, as the pod got quite hot and stuffy sometimes with the door closed.
Me and my partner stayed here for 2 nights in our tent for its first trip. The space we had to set up was plenty, along with a convenient power connection with a simple app to get us connected. Staff at reception were very informative and helpful, as well as the lady at the bar. The fish and chip van was amazing as well, shame we weren't there for the Indian though. Site toilets and showers were very well kept as well, always clean.Highly recommend this campsite for couples or families.Shame there were no consistent food offerings such as a cafe or restaurant, but honestly still a fantastic site without it. Will definitely be visiting again!
We are a returing family now on 4th generation. My mum first started going before it was even a holiday park and made 61yrs until her passing. We have continued to go to Smytham.
Lovely campsite with Large plots. Showers and toilets were lovely and clean (showers were powerful and hot). Plenty of room in cubicle with plenty of hanging hooks. All Staff were friendly and very helpful. Only downside was you’d need transport to get to local town. The lightning at night wasn’t very good.
We booked a four-night stay at Smytham, and our first night was exactly what we had hoped for — peaceful and relaxing. The WC facilities were clean, and the showers were warm with good water pressure. The washing-up facilities were also clean and had plenty of hot water. The campsite itself was very clean, tidy and well maintained, and the staff were very pleasant and welcoming. The bar is lovely too and adds a nice atmosphere to the site.We didn’t really use the swimming pool, as unfortunately it seemed a little bit of a free-for-all when we looked at it.Our main issue was during our second night. A family arrived and could be heard from the other end of the campsite, talking and making noise outside the bar late into the night. Even after the bar had closed, the party continued until the early hours of the morning from their tent/caravan. The two campers staying next to us complained about the noise and decided to leave that day. We chose to stay and see if things improved
We stayed on an en-suite pitch - all weather. The pitch was large enough to accommodate the largest of tents vans or campers. Good clean en-suite facilities and picnic bench. Rock pegs are a must.Electricity monitoring a bit daunting (connect to WiFi before attempting to connect to the electric)!Pool was good and always busy, also the small bar good with a very friendly atmosphere and attentive staff.Kids games room/soft play were adequate. The outdoor park was aimed at younger children and some of the apparatus could be quite dangerous for unguarded little ones. There is a single goal post for the slightly older kids and I suppose that was the only negative for older children. The onsite shop/reception had everything you needed. The only thing you (the kids) could complain about was the ‘free 150mb 10850min’ WiFi - don’t expect to remain connected for more than 5 minutes without reinstating your details (Great for keeping kids tech free)! Great location for T
Really enjoyed it the camp site is very clean and tidy, the toilets were cleaned regularly one of the best. So close to the tarka trail. The staff were very friendly really makes a difference.
We had such a lovely time at Smytham holiday park. My Husband & I stayed a couple of years ago, but just for 1 night & loved it, so we said we’d definitely come back! This time we booked for a week & brought my husband’s son with us. We decided to book a family pod this time rather than camp. The pod was lovely & cosy. Matts provided to sleep on, just bring your own bedding. We were situated between both toilet blocks. The more modern one has the best showers & are very clean! The pool is gorgeous & very clean also. I will say it would be good for staff to pop up a bit more as on 2 occasions we had a family smoking, drinking, bombing the pool & playing music up there. I’m no fun police, but it wasn’t very relaxing at those times! Despite that we absolutely loved our stay at Smytham. It’s very close to Bideford, lovely little town & about half an hour to Westward Ho! They also had a chippy van come to visit one evening & the food was amazing! We would definitely stay again. Thanks :)
