A well maintained site and beautiful location

Smith, Tracy - 03/10/2026

We were very surprised and pleased with this site. We tend to go for sites with toilet blocks etc and this was such a refreshing change. The site offers all the facilities you need and everything is maintained to a good standard and so easy and accessible to use. The location is lovely with rolling countryside and sea views and a permissible path taking you straight to the coastal path and beach. The warden on site was very approachable and helpful and there if you needed him. He is a real asset to the site. We would love to return if we are passing this way again.

A lovely site, well situated with stunning views and plenty of very accessible walks

Shaw, Chris - 30/09/2026

The admin regarding the booking and arrival details, including the helpful driving directions, were all very clear and easy to access. The board with my name and pitch number at the entrance when I arrived was reassuring. The site was very quiet, as it was out of season (late September). The weather was lovely though.Glyn was very welcoming and full of really useful local information. His advice on the walks was invaluable - there were also leaflets on the walks that you could borrow.EHU worked seamlessly. No TV reception, but the wi-fi (charge applicable) was good enough to be able to stream new programmes. The best part for me (and Lilly the dog) was the range of walks that were so easily accessible from the site. Some stunning coastal walks and impressive ridgeway walks. The pitch that I stayed on was a good size, certainly did not feel squeezed inUseful drive-over waste water position that I was able to use on my way out on final day.I will certainly be back

A lovely open area site with lots of free grass areas.

Smedmore. Caravan site is a little gem, it is a little off the beaten track but that is a advantage to those who wish for quiet. Walks are varied (can be long cliff top ones}. Amenities are waste disposal and separate fresh water taps all very clean. Site warden (Glyn ) is very friendly and most helpful and know the area very well. There is so many places to visit.

I thoroughly enjoyed my week at the Smedmore Caravan Site, it was exactly as their description, no frills but what's on offer is always clean and easily accessible. I went mid September and found the fees good value. The walks directly from the site are on an undulating coastal land with outstanding views in every direction.Wareham, Swanage and Studland are on a good road network and within reasonable distance. My thanks to Glyn the site manager who gave me permission on my last day to leave late as my pitch wasn't booked for incoming, this presented me an opportunity to visit Tyneham Village which had been closed during the weekdays and opened that Saturday morning.I have no hesitation in recommending Smedmore and hope to return in the not to distant future.

September visit

Watson, Tony - 19/09/2026

We spent a week in Seotember at Smedmore and the weather was mostly good. Staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were as described. Beautiful area although the firing range to the West limited our cycling expeditions a bit. We extended our original booking by 2 nights.A good experience all round.
