The Site
Rowbury farm Camping is a family-run campsite on a working farm in the heart of Hampshire. We have great views of the surrounding downland including Danebury hillfort. We aim to create a tranquil laid-back ambiance with 45 big pitches on 11 acres, separated by swathes of wildflowers. There are plenty of great places to walk and cycle and we are close to some beautiful Test Valley villages.
Facilities
We have a block of toilets and showers in purpose-built units, which are of good quality and provided with hot water. The men’s block is a shared facility with 2 showers, 2 toilets and some urinals. We have a large family unit with a shower and toilet; this has plenty of space for joint use with children. For the ladies there are two single-occupancy shower-toilet units and a separate toilet. We have a washing up area with 2 large twin-basin stands. We do not have fridges or charging facilities on site, but we do have a freezer for recharging cold packs.
Walking and Cycling
Test valley is riddled with public footpaths, permissive bridleways, and way-marked routes. The Test Way can be as hilly or as flat as you like (here it runs along an old railway line) and the River Anton Way runs 10 miles from the Mayfly pub all the way into Andover. Just down the valley at Chilbolton you can explore the downland nature reserve at West Down or potter in Chilbolton Cow Common on the banks of the River Test. Stockbridge watermeadows is also great for an easy ramble with kids and dogs and there are plenty of places for an ice cream or a cuppa in Stockbridge.
The 246 National cycle route is within a few metres of our gate and we are close to the King Alfred’s Way Long Distance Cycling route. May cyclists use us as a stopping point on all sorts of long distance trips - Bristol to Singapore probably takes the biscuit.
Historic Test Valley
From the campsite you can see Danebury Hill Fort which, as well as being an amazing viewpoint, has had extensive archaeological excavation. You can peruse some of the findings at Andover’s Iron Age Museum. Mottisfont Abbey is a magnificent National Trust property about 10 miles away down the Test Valley and makes an excellent (not too challenging) cycle ride.
The Army Air Flying Corp Museum is close by at Wallop. It is packed with historic planes and flying related memorabilia and is definitely worth a visit.
If you fancy a stroll through medieval streets, do some shopping and enjoy a coffee then Salisbury and Winchester are within 30 minutes drive.
Rowbury Farm Campsite welcomes tents, trailer tents and small campervans (less than 5m length). We do not cater for caravans or motorhomes.
All our pitches are grass pitches. There is no hardstanding on the site and there are no hook-ups. Pitches on the site are numbered for convenience. They are allocated on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee guests a particular pitch. It is almost always possible camp close to friends or relatives if that is desired.

We initially chose this site as was conveniently situated half way between the two farthest flung members of our group. By doing so we discovered a hidden gem. It’s a lovely location with plenty of large flat pitches. The facilities are top notch and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. Now a regular destination for us.
Nice big field (we liked the un-mown perimeter for wildlife), good clean facilities, hot showers, generous pitches. 1.5 miles to Goodworth Clatford village with two pubs and a lovely village stores with great coffee. What's not to like!
Highly recommend this camp site, we had a great time and it is very well looked after. Nice pubs in walking distance.
We had a really lovely weekend at Rowbury. The owners were lovely and came over to check that everything was ok. We loved that areas were designated to wild flowers. It was so delightful waking up amongst bees and butterflies. My puppy was warmly welcomed and I didn't feel I had to worry about her, which meant she was really well behaved and loved her time.I'm looking forward to coming back. A really fabulousous site. Thank you.
Chose this site initially on the fact it was half way between London and where my friends live, but what a find! I'll definitely be visiting again soon. Beautiful surroundings and scenic walks. The facilities on site are good and well maintained. The staff are so friendly and helpful. All of my favourite things are allowed, BBQs, firepits and dogs! (although firepits are not permitted if the weather is too dry which is fair enough)
Good value for money and very clean.
Well laid out, great facilities and plenty of space for children to run around.
Another fantastic time here. Love the new coffee shack. The team are so friendly.
Good facilities. Friendly management. You can get a coffee and a pastry in the morning. It's a longer walk to the Ironage fort than you think (absolutely walkable, but not for young kids/old dogs in every meaning) , but you can drive there 🤣
Booked this campsite for a 2 night break to visit family who live in the area.Although we didn't do much exploring the campsite is based just outside a lovely little village with a couple of pubs & walks. The campsite itself is large and has a self check-in service which was very simple to use. There are wild flowers growing round the pitches to give a sense of more privacy, however pitches are well spread so campers aren't on top of each other. The toilet/showers were immaculate and the owners (father/daughter) were very welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much hassle for them. There is a little coffee trailer that is open for a couple of hours in the morning serving coffee & freshly baked pastries.Would 100% visit this place again if down in that direction.
