The Site
Rowbury farm Camping is a family-run campsite on a working farm in the heart of Hampshire. We have great views of the surrounding downland including Danebury hillfort. We aim to create a tranquil laid-back ambiance with 45 big pitches on 11 acres, separated by swathes of wildflowers. There are plenty of great places to walk and cycle and we are close to some beautiful Test Valley villages.
Facilities
We have a block of toilets and showers in purpose-built units, which are of good quality and provided with hot water. The men’s block is a shared facility with 2 showers, 2 toilets and some urinals. We have a large family unit with a shower and toilet; this has plenty of space for joint use with children. For the ladies there are two single-occupancy shower-toilet units and a separate toilet. We have a washing up area with 2 large twin-basin stands. We do not have fridges or charging facilities on site, but we do have a freezer for recharging cold packs.
Walking and Cycling
Test valley is riddled with public footpaths, permissive bridleways, and way-marked routes. The Test Way can be as hilly or as flat as you like (here it runs along an old railway line) and the River Anton Way runs 10 miles from the Mayfly pub all the way into Andover. Just down the valley at Chilbolton you can explore the downland nature reserve at West Down or potter in Chilbolton Cow Common on the banks of the River Test. Stockbridge watermeadows is also great for an easy ramble with kids and dogs and there are plenty of places for an ice cream or a cuppa in Stockbridge.
The 246 National cycle route is within a few metres of our gate and we are close to the King Alfred’s Way Long Distance Cycling route. May cyclists use us as a stopping point on all sorts of long distance trips - Bristol to Singapore probably takes the biscuit.
Historic Test Valley
From the campsite you can see Danebury Hill Fort which, as well as being an amazing viewpoint, has had extensive archaeological excavation. You can peruse some of the findings at Andover’s Iron Age Museum. Mottisfont Abbey is a magnificent National Trust property about 10 miles away down the Test Valley and makes an excellent (not too challenging) cycle ride.
The Army Air Flying Corp Museum is close by at Wallop. It is packed with historic planes and flying related memorabilia and is definitely worth a visit.
If you fancy a stroll through medieval streets, do some shopping and enjoy a coffee then Salisbury and Winchester are within 30 minutes drive.
Rowbury Farm Campsite welcomes tents, trailer tents and small campervans (less than 5m length). We do not cater for caravans or motorhomes.
All our pitches are grass pitches. There is no hardstanding on the site and there are no hook-ups. Pitches on the site are numbered for convenience. They are allocated on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee guests a particular pitch. It is almost always possible camp close to friends or relatives if that is desired.

Warm welcome and great quiet place to stay over. Everything you need and more with the new cafe! We have been 4/5 times over the time it’s been open and it’s developed so well! Thank you ☺️
This site is amazing. You can’t go wrong with this place for a stop over or a cheeky weekend away without having to travel to far. The hosts are lovely very welcoming, the toilets are basic but very well maintained and clean. The showers are always hot.
Lovely, friendly find. Will be staying again in the future
Stayed 2 nights, just me and the dog. Being the Easter bank holiday it was relatively busy but there was plenty of space and never felt over crowded. It was really peaceful and had a great nights sleep (with the exception of my sleeping companion taking up the whole bed). Nearby pubs within walking distance (take care walking the national speed limit road, although not busy).I will be visiting again in the future.
Rowbury Is a large spacious and peaceful site. The pitches have plenty of space and the washroom facilities are nice and clean. I will definitely be back.
Had a lovely stay at Rowbury. The team were really helpful and it's a beautiful place to pitch for a couple of nights!
Had everything needed for a stop over and pleasant staff, but unfortunately the price - £26 a night was too high to ever want to return (£15 a night I would use again).
We had a lovely stay at Rowbury Farm. The staff and facilities were topnotch and it was great value for money. We took your suggestions and had a very yummy dinner at Mayfly and lunch at Thyme & Tides Deli.
We spent the Bank Holiday weekend at Rowbury Farm. It was wonderful! A lot of campsites seem to be off main A roads, but Rowbury was tucked away and lovely and quiet. The tent areas were mowed into longer grass verges which gave some nice separation and privacy between groups. The showers/loo's were clean, the freezer was a great addition to be able to keep cool blocks cold, and having hot pastries at the little hut in a morning was a winner. The stars at night were beautiful. We'll definitely be back and have already recommended to friends!
