The Site
Rowbury farm Camping is a family-run campsite on a working farm in the heart of Hampshire. We have great views of the surrounding downland including Danebury hillfort. We aim to create a tranquil laid-back ambiance with 45 big pitches on 11 acres, separated by swathes of wildflowers. There are plenty of great places to walk and cycle and we are close to some beautiful Test Valley villages.
Facilities
We have a block of toilets and showers in purpose-built units, which are of good quality and provided with hot water. The men’s block is a shared facility with 2 showers, 2 toilets and some urinals. We have a large family unit with a shower and toilet; this has plenty of space for joint use with children. For the ladies there are two single-occupancy shower-toilet units and a separate toilet. We have a washing up area with 2 large twin-basin stands. We do not have fridges or charging facilities on site, but we do have a freezer for recharging cold packs.
Walking and Cycling
Test valley is riddled with public footpaths, permissive bridleways, and way-marked routes. The Test Way can be as hilly or as flat as you like (here it runs along an old railway line) and the River Anton Way runs 10 miles from the Mayfly pub all the way into Andover. Just down the valley at Chilbolton you can explore the downland nature reserve at West Down or potter in Chilbolton Cow Common on the banks of the River Test. Stockbridge watermeadows is also great for an easy ramble with kids and dogs and there are plenty of places for an ice cream or a cuppa in Stockbridge.
The 246 National cycle route is within a few metres of our gate and we are close to the King Alfred’s Way Long Distance Cycling route. May cyclists use us as a stopping point on all sorts of long distance trips - Bristol to Singapore probably takes the biscuit.
Historic Test Valley
From the campsite you can see Danebury Hill Fort which, as well as being an amazing viewpoint, has had extensive archaeological excavation. You can peruse some of the findings at Andover’s Iron Age Museum. Mottisfont Abbey is a magnificent National Trust property about 10 miles away down the Test Valley and makes an excellent (not too challenging) cycle ride.
The Army Air Flying Corp Museum is close by at Wallop. It is packed with historic planes and flying related memorabilia and is definitely worth a visit.
If you fancy a stroll through medieval streets, do some shopping and enjoy a coffee then Salisbury and Winchester are within 30 minutes drive.
Rowbury Farm Campsite welcomes tents, trailer tents and small campervans (less than 5m length). We do not cater for caravans or motorhomes.
All our pitches are grass pitches. There is no hardstanding on the site and there are no hook-ups. Pitches on the site are numbered for convenience. They are allocated on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee guests a particular pitch. It is almost always possible camp close to friends or relatives if that is desired.

With summer arriving early this year, we decided to book a last minute 1 night stay at Rowbury farm - which is only about 5 miles from where we live! Very friendly arrival procedure with tips on which pitches offered evening sun v morning sun, shelter from wind etc. We opted for evening sun and went along the side next to the road. It was so peaceful, you’d never know the road was there. Peaceful is how I’d describe the whole night. We ate snacks in the sunshine, played games, enjoyed a fire pit with marshmallows & had a BBQ dinner. The highlight for my 9 yr old was bringing his telescope and getting a great unpolluted view of the night sky. The facilities were really clean and pleasant to use. Both kids have already asked if we can do this close to home camping trip again, and we certainly will! It was perfect 10/10
This is a smashing site , super friendly staff , good clean facilities, hot showers etc , good size pitches and fabulous views , location is great for a quick pop into the local village or head to the bigger towns of Winchester or Stockbridge for a more sedate day out , enjoy cycling or walking , or just enjoy the peacefulness of the site .
We’ve visited Rowbury twice now and it’s a lovely place. Nice big pitches that are spaced apart from other campers, the wildflowers and grass is left to grow around the pitches giving you a little extra privacy and the facilities are always spotless. One element we did face on our return visit was the paintball site next door was extremely loud with explosions going off and very loud pyrotechnics being detonated. We were aware of the paintball site next door but didn’t expect the huge explosions that were happening on various days. Overall it’s a great campsite and we look forward to returning, but maybe this time we’ll go down the bottom of the field away from the paintball site.
Large, flat campsite surrounded by nature and accommodating tents and campervans only. Generously-sized pitches, each with their own fire pit. Lovely clean cabins housing nice hot showers and loos, plentiful piping hot water for washing up. Bunnies scamper in the hedgerows, pheasants strut across the site, owls hoot at night. Rowbury Farm Camping is a delight. £13/person/night in 2025 which works especially well for solo guests. Friendly and proactive site managers who really care that their campers are happy!
Some pitches very large, so plenty of space around = privacy and peace. Well kept site without being manicured to death. Facilities very good, heated shower blocks etc. owners very friendly and welcoming. Lovely.
Love Rowbury and have been there many times. Level field with loads of space - at least twice as much space per pitch than you get at formal sites. Plenty of toilets/shower - not posh, but proper flushing loos and hot water. Highly recommended.
I only stopped for a night en route to the West Country. The site had a great view over the countryside. The site wardens were very pleasant and helpful and the showers and loos were perfect. I gather that EHUs will be coming soon. I will come again.
The camp site seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere as it was so quiet although not that far from Andover and the facilities were clean.
Facilities are good and kept very clean. The friendly staff make you feel very welcome. One of our favourite sites.
Really lovely campsite. Would definitely come back.
