The Site
Rowbury farm Camping is a family-run campsite on a working farm in the heart of Hampshire. We have great views of the surrounding downland including Danebury hillfort. We aim to create a tranquil laid-back ambiance with 45 big pitches on 11 acres, separated by swathes of wildflowers. There are plenty of great places to walk and cycle and we are close to some beautiful Test Valley villages.
Facilities
We have a block of toilets and showers in purpose-built units, which are of good quality and provided with hot water. The men’s block is a shared facility with 2 showers, 2 toilets and some urinals. We have a large family unit with a shower and toilet; this has plenty of space for joint use with children. For the ladies there are two single-occupancy shower-toilet units and a separate toilet. We have a washing up area with 2 large twin-basin stands. We do not have fridges or charging facilities on site, but we do have a freezer for recharging cold packs.
Walking and Cycling
Test valley is riddled with public footpaths, permissive bridleways, and way-marked routes. The Test Way can be as hilly or as flat as you like (here it runs along an old railway line) and the River Anton Way runs 10 miles from the Mayfly pub all the way into Andover. Just down the valley at Chilbolton you can explore the downland nature reserve at West Down or potter in Chilbolton Cow Common on the banks of the River Test. Stockbridge watermeadows is also great for an easy ramble with kids and dogs and there are plenty of places for an ice cream or a cuppa in Stockbridge.
The 246 National cycle route is within a few metres of our gate and we are close to the King Alfred’s Way Long Distance Cycling route. May cyclists use us as a stopping point on all sorts of long distance trips - Bristol to Singapore probably takes the biscuit.
Historic Test Valley
From the campsite you can see Danebury Hill Fort which, as well as being an amazing viewpoint, has had extensive archaeological excavation. You can peruse some of the findings at Andover’s Iron Age Museum. Mottisfont Abbey is a magnificent National Trust property about 10 miles away down the Test Valley and makes an excellent (not too challenging) cycle ride.
The Army Air Flying Corp Museum is close by at Wallop. It is packed with historic planes and flying related memorabilia and is definitely worth a visit.
If you fancy a stroll through medieval streets, do some shopping and enjoy a coffee then Salisbury and Winchester are within 30 minutes drive.
Rowbury Farm Campsite welcomes tents, trailer tents and small campervans (less than 5m length). We do not cater for caravans or motorhomes.
All our pitches are grass pitches. There is no hardstanding on the site and there are no hook-ups. Pitches on the site are numbered for convenience. They are allocated on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee guests a particular pitch. It is almost always possible camp close to friends or relatives if that is desired.

Beautiful surroundings, simplistic site with lovely warm water showers, clean facilities. No bells or whistles required. Fire pits on each pitch. Wood and kindling sold on site £5 per bag, unfortunately our wood wasn't quite dried out on this occasion.Very happy with this campsite.
Second time camping here on our Motorcycles, love the place, quiet and laid back, just what we needed. Will definitely be back again.
Really enjoyed our stay. Met by friendly and helpful owner. Ideal camping bays, clean washing and toilet facilities. Only drawback was that there were no hook ups, but fine for a few nights. We will go back! Davina
Lovely peaceful site with good facilities and friendly staff. Easy booking and no hassle check in. Large flat field, with pitches separated by patches of longer grass and shrubs to give nice spacing.
We both had a lovely time it was nice to camp for the night with just the fire pit and our candles and a couple of nice bottles of wine Well done see you again
Lovely pitches, friendly and laid back staff (Clare) and beautiful surroundings.
This was our first test-camping weekend before we fo on our club camping trip to the French Alps in July. Some of our club are less experienced campers than others and it was also a good way to help each other, have a great weekend and explore the lovely roads in and around the area, including going to Stonehenge.
We stayed at Rowbury Farm campsite for 2 nights. The pitches are of generous sizes. Great for friends to meet up and camp together but also great if you’re wanting quiet time as pitches can be spaced out. Free camping stoves abs generous bags of fire wood and kindling available (you pay via honesty box). Amazing views and lots of sky. Fantastic sunset. Downside- if not wanting to drive anywhere only access to surrounding amenities is vis a narrow country road. Local village shop 1 1/2 miles away and good selection of pubs locally to eat at. We went to the Mayfly. Very nice and lovely food.
Well run, peaceful and adorable site we return to time after time.
