The Site
Rowbury farm Camping is a family-run campsite on a working farm in the heart of Hampshire. We have great views of the surrounding downland including Danebury hillfort. We aim to create a tranquil laid-back ambiance with 45 big pitches on 11 acres, separated by swathes of wildflowers. There are plenty of great places to walk and cycle and we are close to some beautiful Test Valley villages.
Facilities
We have a block of toilets and showers in purpose-built units, which are of good quality and provided with hot water. The men’s block is a shared facility with 2 showers, 2 toilets and some urinals. We have a large family unit with a shower and toilet; this has plenty of space for joint use with children. For the ladies there are two single-occupancy shower-toilet units and a separate toilet. We have a washing up area with 2 large twin-basin stands. We do not have fridges or charging facilities on site, but we do have a freezer for recharging cold packs.
Walking and Cycling
Test valley is riddled with public footpaths, permissive bridleways, and way-marked routes. The Test Way can be as hilly or as flat as you like (here it runs along an old railway line) and the River Anton Way runs 10 miles from the Mayfly pub all the way into Andover. Just down the valley at Chilbolton you can explore the downland nature reserve at West Down or potter in Chilbolton Cow Common on the banks of the River Test. Stockbridge watermeadows is also great for an easy ramble with kids and dogs and there are plenty of places for an ice cream or a cuppa in Stockbridge.
The 246 National cycle route is within a few metres of our gate and we are close to the King Alfred’s Way Long Distance Cycling route. May cyclists use us as a stopping point on all sorts of long distance trips - Bristol to Singapore probably takes the biscuit.
Historic Test Valley
From the campsite you can see Danebury Hill Fort which, as well as being an amazing viewpoint, has had extensive archaeological excavation. You can peruse some of the findings at Andover’s Iron Age Museum. Mottisfont Abbey is a magnificent National Trust property about 10 miles away down the Test Valley and makes an excellent (not too challenging) cycle ride.
The Army Air Flying Corp Museum is close by at Wallop. It is packed with historic planes and flying related memorabilia and is definitely worth a visit.
If you fancy a stroll through medieval streets, do some shopping and enjoy a coffee then Salisbury and Winchester are within 30 minutes drive.
Rowbury Farm Campsite welcomes tents, trailer tents and small campervans (less than 5m length). We do not cater for caravans or motorhomes.
All our pitches are grass pitches. There is no hardstanding on the site and there are no hook-ups. Pitches on the site are numbered for convenience. They are allocated on a first come, first served basis and we cannot guarantee guests a particular pitch. It is almost always possible camp close to friends or relatives if that is desired.

Really Lovely campsite. Very peaceful. Pitches are well spread out - so everyone has their own space. Well kept, clean facilities. We really enjoyed our stay!
Nice beautiful site . Lovely family run site .. Lovely coffee bar and showers and toilets.
We had another lovely stay at Rowbury Farm - we really enjoy staying here. The owners are so polite and friendly and go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect. We love how peaceful it is, and also the clean facilities. We will definitely be back again soon!
We had brought and had fitted a latitude roof tent on the day we stayed. We arrived to an amazingly warm welcome and was informed off all the details we needed to know and everything available on site. The host was extremely nice and welcoming, facility’s were beyond belief for camp site. We will defiantly be returning again every time we are around the area. Could not ask for a better place. The spread out pitches were fantastic and gave a very nice private feeling, they’re were plenty other campers on site and we was not disturbed at all while on site. Can’t wait to come back again and again!! Thank you so much guys!!! Matt.
Stayed several times now.Bekkie and her Dad offer a great and personal service.Lovely surroundings, good size plots, toilets clean, water hot!Walked to the shop in Abotts Ann which is really superb and even has great coffee.
Great, friendly, well maintained campsite. Wonderful location, surrounded by nature with Swallows swooping past our van. Facilities bijou, but spotlessly clean and with piping hot water. Little coffee shop in shepherd’s hut is a nice addition. Farm tour was a revelation, and so inspiring. Lovely area. We enjoyed the nearby Longstock Water Gardens, Chilbolton Cow Meadow and Danesbury Iron Age Hillfort. Stockbridge is a nice place to shop for food, with a butcher, fresh produce and a shop with a fresh fish counter. Would like to come again as there are loads of places to visit and plenty of lovely walks.
Everything was completely chilled , from the remote booking in...pull up, choice your spot, text and confirm what pitch you're on, to the general atmosphere and stillness. The meadow is gorgeous with huge pitches surrounded by wild flowers. Facilities fantastic. Best shower I've had in ages! Everything super clean and functional. The very lovely owners did the rounds early evening to make sure everyone was ok and if they needed anything. Fire pits are supplied on each pitch.I used this as a quick stop over whilst visiting a relative in the area and will definitely repeat but next time making use of the pub down the road, which from the pictures has lovely riverside seating.Very much enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this site which is priced perfectly for wild camping with no ehu.
A very pleasant and peaceful overnight stay whilst cycle-touring.I liked the clever mowed grass / natural "weeds" to define pitches.Facilities were excellent.Off too early in the morning to enjoy the tempting cafe on site...Down in the valley the River Test cycle path made an easy and delightful start to the following day.
We booked one night as we were travelling back from Devon and had a night out in Basingstoke the following evening. And, wow, what a gem! We arrived slightly later than we had planned and the owners were taking a night off, no problem, we just chose a pitch and settled in. Although next to a minor but busy-ish road the site was very quiet, it was well kept, the grass was short but due to be cut again the next day. The showers and toilets were excellent, very clean and the washing up area was also very good. The owners were very friendly and helpful and Becky even opened up the coffee wagon for us and the other guests on what for them was quite a quiet day. All in all we found Rowbury Farm Campsite to be excellent and we will be back!
