Rother Valley Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the outskirts of Northiam on the East Sussex and Kent border. Providing a secluded and safe environment, this park is surrounded by beautiful open countryside yet remains close to the local amenities and attractions.
On Park, we can cater for caravans, tourers and motorhomes of all sizes with or without electric hook-up. We also of course welcome campers … and dogs are welcome too!
Try something a little different? We have two fantastic luxury Glamping Pods. These new pods offer a unique camping experience accommodating two in a double pod and four in a 2 double bed pod. Each pod has comfortable double beds, microwave oven, kettle and utensils/crockery. Bring your own bedding.
Our new Bell Tents are fully equipped and ready for you to start your holiday immediately. Each Bell Tent accommodates up to 4 people so are ideal for families and small groups and is equipped with a gas hob stove and kettle, Utensils & crockery, two camp lights, water carrier and cool box (swap service of cool blocks). Just outside is your very own picnic table/bench and coal fired BBQ.
We have spacious pitches around the perimeter of our large main camping field and additional secluded alcove pitches in our wooded area. We leave the large meadow in the middle of the camping field empty so there is room for children and families to relax and play. There is an area of woodland with little dens for the children to explore and a woodland walk suitable for dogs.
The small children’s play area is in the main field with swings, slide, tower and sand table. Picnic tables are situated where you can take advantage of the beautiful views over the Rother Valley and watch the quaint steam trains chug past.
There is much to do in the local area with so many pretty villages, historic houses, beautiful gardens, award winning sandy and shingle beaches plus shopping, pubs and restaurants.
Stroll around Rye Harbour, take a boat trip along River Rother or journey back in time on the nostalgic Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.
The small Kentish town of Tenterden with it’s wide tree lined high street and fantastic selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is a 10 minute drive. The fabulous Camber Sands with its award winning sand dune backed beach is a 15 minute drive and the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea are easily accessible.
Finally, return back to Rother Valley Park and round off your evening with a campfire on your pitch, using one of our firepits.
Medieval castles, beautiful towns and gorgeous beaches… it’s all just on our doorstep!
Electric grass pitches on our open field.
Alcoves cut out of our woodland, which vary in shape & size

We stayed with friends in the ‘Woodland’ area which was good on such a hot weekend. (pitch 11&12). A brilliant Marquee was set up to watch the football. Shows and toilet facilities really good. Hosts also very accommodating. Lovely location. Would definitely recommend.
What a relaxed friendly place to stay!! Although we did not use these pitches on this occasion to find hook up and firepits is really unusual. Easy to find - well looked after site, the wooded bit where we stayed offered shade - which was very welcome in the heat!! In cooler times we would go for the field which is in the sunshine all day and has the most amazing views! The toilet block and all the facilities are spotless, well maintained and caters for all needs with charging points, washing facilities, fridge and freezers and a small but really well stocked shop - which also was great as it sold ice creams!! Staff could not have done more to help. Wifi was not great for us so we purchased wifi for the 3 days which was very reasonable as I needed it for my business, others had signal and wifi on a different network. We had visitors who were welcomed onto the site Pub within 10 minute walk along the road, which did great food!!!! What's not to love 😀
Something for everyone at this small but well set-up campsite. We didn’t leave the whole weekend! Climbing frame for the little kids, football goals and space for rounders for the big one, picnic benches, clean & warm showers, fridge/freezer and BBQs means there’s something for everyone. The train going past is just and extra attraction, and they even screened the World Cup on a big screen! Don’t be put off by the view from the road- this is really a hidden gem!
Great place to camp and good choice of pitches. Good set up and facilities; it has all you need and friendly owners.Good value for money and close to good pubs, steam train to Bodiam and Tenterton. Set in a lovely location, close to Rye and surrounding areas.
We had a great time staying at Rothervalley Campsite. Loads of space for kids to play, facilities always clean and a friendly welcome. We loved walking down to the lime wharf cafe for boating and then food after.Thank you so much for a lovely time, looking forward to coming back next year!
Fantastic location with brilliant facilities. Close to the river for boating and views over the countryside. Bell tent was well equipped and comfortable. We will definitely be back! Thank you
This was a third year weve been to Rother Valley, we go with a large group and they are always so accommodating. We have lots of kids with us and it is so safe for them to go and run around. Big field in the middle for games and football is great. Firepits supplied at a cost if wanted but so worth it. Toilets and showers kept clean. We stayed in a Bell Tent this year and everything needed was supplied, it was a brilliant stay.
At first: english is not our native language so if i made mistakes in the writing I am sorry. We travel with a campervan and had a Nice place on the mainfield. The owner was very friendly and it felt like we were welcome. Some season caravans, Some overnight stayers, probably because of the one hour drive from the ferry/ shuttle. A Nice variaty of pitches. Not that much sjouwers or toilets but it was Nice and clean. Also Nice to know; you are allowed to make a fire, it gives the ultimate camp feeling.
Excellent facilities, Great staff, beautiful location.
