Rother Valley Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the outskirts of Northiam on the East Sussex and Kent border. Providing a secluded and safe environment, this park is surrounded by beautiful open countryside yet remains close to the local amenities and attractions.
On Park, we can cater for caravans, tourers and motorhomes of all sizes with or without electric hook-up. We also of course welcome campers … and dogs are welcome too!
Try something a little different? We have two fantastic luxury Glamping Pods. These new pods offer a unique camping experience accommodating two in a double pod and four in a 2 double bed pod. Each pod has comfortable double beds, microwave oven, kettle and utensils/crockery. Bring your own bedding.
Our new Bell Tents are fully equipped and ready for you to start your holiday immediately. Each Bell Tent accommodates up to 4 people so are ideal for families and small groups and is equipped with a gas hob stove and kettle, Utensils & crockery, two camp lights, water carrier and cool box (swap service of cool blocks). Just outside is your very own picnic table/bench and coal fired BBQ.
We have spacious pitches around the perimeter of our large main camping field and additional secluded alcove pitches in our wooded area. We leave the large meadow in the middle of the camping field empty so there is room for children and families to relax and play. There is an area of woodland with little dens for the children to explore and a woodland walk suitable for dogs.
The small children’s play area is in the main field with swings, slide, tower and sand table. Picnic tables are situated where you can take advantage of the beautiful views over the Rother Valley and watch the quaint steam trains chug past.
There is much to do in the local area with so many pretty villages, historic houses, beautiful gardens, award winning sandy and shingle beaches plus shopping, pubs and restaurants.
Stroll around Rye Harbour, take a boat trip along River Rother or journey back in time on the nostalgic Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.
The small Kentish town of Tenterden with it’s wide tree lined high street and fantastic selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is a 10 minute drive. The fabulous Camber Sands with its award winning sand dune backed beach is a 15 minute drive and the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea are easily accessible.
Finally, return back to Rother Valley Park and round off your evening with a campfire on your pitch, using one of our firepits.
Medieval castles, beautiful towns and gorgeous beaches… it’s all just on our doorstep!

Clean and friendlyLarge pitches well spaced out not over crowed
This site is in a great location with lots to do in the surrounding area. The site managers are friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to make you welcome. The facilities are excellent. The site is newly redeveloped and has everything you need. The toilets and showers were kept clean at all times. The kitchen area was modern and clean and we particularly like the large fridge and the freezer. We will definitely be returning on a regular basis.
Fabulous family run business, set in gorgeous countryside. Clean facilities, lots of space for playing on the large field in the middle. Love the steam trains passing by so close.
Stayed at rother valley a few times now, facilities are always kept clean. Open space for kids to play, woods to explore, never over crowded due to having plots allocated. Would highly recommend. Short walk to lime whalf cafe, 5/10 minutes, food good and great atmosphere. Can also hire kayaks from bodium boating station there on the river. Nice afternoon out.
A lovely well presented site with everything catered for. The field is immaculate and the grass very well maintained. Friendly helpful staff too. 😇🥇Good road access too for towing a caravan
This was our second time of staying at the site. It is lovely, good sized camping bays, super clean bathroom facilities, good washing up area with plenty of hot water. Didn't need to use the campsite offices's supplies so didn't see what they stock but did need a disposable bbq tray which they had in supply and also rented a fire pit (with logs supplied) for our two nights. The site has a playground area for children and a viewing point for The Kent & East Sussex Railway steam trains that run past the end of the site. They stop at Northiam Station, just five mins walk from the campsite. Local pub and cafe within 10 minutes walk and an Indian restaurant just outside the entrance of the site which offers take-aways. We only stayed a couple of nights and took the opportunity to relax at the campsite but will take a trip on the train to Tenterden next time we stay. For us it ticks all the boxes - will definitely be returning.
Good location, friendly staff, good price.
What a fabulous site, beautiful location. peaceful, lovely play area with a great on site shop just a stones throw from a fantastic Indian restaurant and lovely steam railway. The on site staff were so friendly and helpfulThe bell tent itself was lovely with almost everything you might need, although a couple of camp chair for for inside the tent would have been a bonus. The bed was fantastic, really comfortable. I highly recommend this brilliant family friendly site.
We stayed in our VW campervan with friends and family. We spent 2 nights in the woodland pitch and had a great time. There was a lovely, warm, friendly and relaxed vibe to this place and was a perfect little break and the fact we could have a fire (supplied) just made it that bit more special.Thank you all for being so accommodating and so friendly. We will 100% be returning, so long as you've trimmed the brambles hehehe (private joke) ;-)
Lovely site. Great facilities. New and clean. We love the individual plots in the woods. We have stayed before and will again, however, the woodland plots are getting very over grown with lots of hanging brambles. Some are to the point where you couldn't open a poptop roof properly. Two other people whilst we were there were making the same comment. Please chop them back. Otherwise... Great location and site. Will stay again. Thank you.
