Rother Valley Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the outskirts of Northiam on the East Sussex and Kent border. Providing a secluded and safe environment, this park is surrounded by beautiful open countryside yet remains close to the local amenities and attractions.

On Park, we can cater for caravans, tourers and motorhomes of all sizes with or without electric hook-up. We also of course welcome campers … and dogs are welcome too!

Try something a little different? We have two fantastic luxury Glamping Pods. These new pods offer a unique camping experience accommodating two in a double pod and four in a 2 double bed pod. Each pod has comfortable double beds, microwave oven, kettle and utensils/crockery. Bring your own bedding.

Our new Bell Tents are fully equipped and ready for you to start your holiday immediately. Each Bell Tent accommodates up to 4 people so are ideal for families and small groups and is equipped with a gas hob stove and kettle, Utensils & crockery, two camp lights, water carrier and cool box (swap service of cool blocks). Just outside is your very own picnic table/bench and coal fired BBQ.

We have spacious pitches around the perimeter of our large main camping field and additional secluded alcove pitches in our wooded area. We leave the large meadow in the middle of the camping field empty so there is room for children and families to relax and play. There is an area of woodland with little dens for the children to explore and a woodland walk suitable for dogs.

The small children’s play area is in the main field with swings, slide, tower and sand table. Picnic tables are situated where you can take advantage of the beautiful views over the Rother Valley and watch the quaint steam trains chug past.

There is much to do in the local area with so many pretty villages, historic houses, beautiful gardens, award winning sandy and shingle beaches plus shopping, pubs and restaurants.

Stroll around Rye Harbour, take a boat trip along River Rother or journey back in time on the nostalgic Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.

The small Kentish town of Tenterden with it’s wide tree lined high street and fantastic selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is a 10 minute drive. The fabulous Camber Sands with its award winning sand dune backed beach is a 15 minute drive and the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea are easily accessible.

Finally, return back to Rother Valley Park and round off your evening with a campfire on your pitch, using one of our firepits.

Medieval castles, beautiful towns and gorgeous beaches… it’s all just on our doorstep!

The good, the bad and the ugly

Wright, Jon - 31/07/2025

This was our first visit to Rother Valley and there were both positive and negative aspects to it. We had a woodland pitch (14 ) which on the site map looked pretty big, however, very different in reality. Campers had already pitched up in 15 and there was barely enough room to set up our tent and park the car. On top of that ,the track into this area was very muddy. Pitch 15 were part of a larger group and it became apparent later in the evening that this was going to be an issue. There was little thought for the youngsters in our group as the adult members of this group drank and laughed into the late hours ,1am on both nights. Despite an advertised curfew/quiet hours of 10pm there was no consideration for other campers. No staff were seen to monitor this and ‘encourage’ noisy groups to quieten down.Had we known what was in store we would not have stayed here but opted for the Bell tents on the other side of the site. Others in our party stayed here and they were spacious and quiter

Great location!

The campsite is in a great location with Bodium boating station just down the road which is wonderful! There is an Indian restaurant at the entrance (nothing to do with campsite) where the food is great! Shop on site sells treats. My only comment is that we camped in the woodland area and the trees/bushes could do with a cutback as there are many hanging very low and into your camping area so that when your tent is pitched you are always getting caught up in brambles etc. to her past.

Great campsite

Staff really friendly and helpful, nice large pitches. Very family friendly with park and football goals for kids. Only negative would be to be more strict on ensuring guests keep dogs on leads, lots of free roaming dogs that left dog poo behind, my daughter then rode her bike through this. Will definitely return!! Thankyou!

Site needs development!

Staying on this site is basically camping on an open field with amenities. The pitches are not demarcated and the central open space is just used as a football pitch. What worried us most was the lack of a security barrier at the entrance. With a little imagination and some landscaping this site could be so much better. On the plus side, top marks for the shower block, which was immaculately clean with facilities for disabled clients. The site is well located for visiting this lovely area of Rye - particularly Great Dixter House and Garden.
