Rother Valley Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the outskirts of Northiam on the East Sussex and Kent border. Providing a secluded and safe environment, this park is surrounded by beautiful open countryside yet remains close to the local amenities and attractions.
On Park, we can cater for caravans, tourers and motorhomes of all sizes with or without electric hook-up. We also of course welcome campers … and dogs are welcome too!
Try something a little different? We have two fantastic luxury Glamping Pods. These new pods offer a unique camping experience accommodating two in a double pod and four in a 2 double bed pod. Each pod has comfortable double beds, microwave oven, kettle and utensils/crockery. Bring your own bedding.
Our new Bell Tents are fully equipped and ready for you to start your holiday immediately. Each Bell Tent accommodates up to 4 people so are ideal for families and small groups and is equipped with a gas hob stove and kettle, Utensils & crockery, two camp lights, water carrier and cool box (swap service of cool blocks). Just outside is your very own picnic table/bench and coal fired BBQ.
We have spacious pitches around the perimeter of our large main camping field and additional secluded alcove pitches in our wooded area. We leave the large meadow in the middle of the camping field empty so there is room for children and families to relax and play. There is an area of woodland with little dens for the children to explore and a woodland walk suitable for dogs.
The small children’s play area is in the main field with swings, slide, tower and sand table. Picnic tables are situated where you can take advantage of the beautiful views over the Rother Valley and watch the quaint steam trains chug past.
There is much to do in the local area with so many pretty villages, historic houses, beautiful gardens, award winning sandy and shingle beaches plus shopping, pubs and restaurants.
Stroll around Rye Harbour, take a boat trip along River Rother or journey back in time on the nostalgic Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.
The small Kentish town of Tenterden with it’s wide tree lined high street and fantastic selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is a 10 minute drive. The fabulous Camber Sands with its award winning sand dune backed beach is a 15 minute drive and the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea are easily accessible.
Finally, return back to Rother Valley Park and round off your evening with a campfire on your pitch, using one of our firepits.
Medieval castles, beautiful towns and gorgeous beaches… it’s all just on our doorstep!
Electric grass pitches on our open field.
Alcoves cut out of our woodland, which vary in shape & size

The campsite and the site are first class, the staff are really nice. I have one small complaint. The shower has nowhere to place a wash bag ( I had to put mine on the floor) and nowhere to sit whilst trying to get dressed and putting on socks. Apart from that everything else is perfect. Many thanks.
This is our third or fourth time at Rother Valley and it's my favourite site by far. The layout of everything, the facilities and the calm nature of the site makes it stand out from the others. The kids love the enclosed woods to play in, the large play field, seeing the steam train go past and the playground. The new modern toilet and shower facilities are great and always kept clean and there's always hot water. The pitches are a good size and you don't feel over crowded due to the layout which is great. The kids love the shop and all the sweets and toys! The Indian takeaway at the entrance is great, so handy when you don't want to cook, and my daughter said it's the best tikka massala she's had, and she's had a few! A big thank you for the Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday too which was fab, the kids were thoroughly spoilt and loved it! We hope to come back again soon :-) Thanks again!
The facilities have had a complete overhaul since we last stayed a few years ago, and the toilets and showers were much better than before. The grass had been cut so the site was neat and tidy, and everywhere was always clean other than the occasional grass cuttings which cannot be helped. The children LOVED the woods and we love that the site is secure for them to go off and play. The Easter Egg hunt organised by the site was a huge hit, and whilst we were expecting them to get a little token chocolate egg or something the children were delighted to receive a goody bag with some sweets, toys and even name tags which was incredibly thoughtful and generous. We love having the space for the children (and adults!) to play. Recommend the takeaway at the entrance, very convenient after setting up the first day. Never get tired of the trains passing. A lovely peaceful break, I’m sure we’ll be back.
Really nice spot. Helpful staff and nice tidy showers and toilets. Only spent 2 nights but will be back next year for more.
We spent 4 days at Rother Valley camp site and as usual had a fantastic time. We have been staying there for 4 years in various different vehicles and tents. The owners are lovely and friendly. The camp is kept spotless and there is the added benefit of the steam traine that runs alongside.Everyone that stays there are very respectful of the quietness. We would highly recommend this site for couples and families.
Friendly staff and super clean facilities. Well run campsite.
The campsite is not easy to find and there are no shopping facilities. Otherwise we were very happy with this campsite and made very nice trips in the area (Bodiam Castle, Rye)
Really lovely site with a quaint steam railway running right past it in an interesting area of west Kent/east Sussex. Site owners were great. Welcoming and more than helpful, even got my car started when the battery failed!
we arrived having pre paid so just drove in and looked at the massive site. where to park. we had just purchased our RV fiat Ducato and this was the first outing so didn't want to make fools of ourselves setting up. it was a very wet weekend and there was no hard standing on the site, I had been told this when I booked but the weather had deteriorated some what. I gingerly drove on to the grass but it was sold as a rock. I can only imagine it had been rolled and driven on for a number of years. no need to worry there. we drove over to the left side where I had been told the 240v hook-ups were. it was slightly more water clogged here but mostly around the fresh water tap so a little bit more to the right of that it was good and firm. backed in, hooked up, kettle on, water filled, dinner on, dogs out into the thicket chased a few squirrels, back to the van , wipe down and all was well with my world.
