Rother Valley Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the outskirts of Northiam on the East Sussex and Kent border. Providing a secluded and safe environment, this park is surrounded by beautiful open countryside yet remains close to the local amenities and attractions.
On Park, we can cater for caravans, tourers and motorhomes of all sizes with or without electric hook-up. We also of course welcome campers … and dogs are welcome too!
Try something a little different? We have two fantastic luxury Glamping Pods. These new pods offer a unique camping experience accommodating two in a double pod and four in a 2 double bed pod. Each pod has comfortable double beds, microwave oven, kettle and utensils/crockery. Bring your own bedding.
Our new Bell Tents are fully equipped and ready for you to start your holiday immediately. Each Bell Tent accommodates up to 4 people so are ideal for families and small groups and is equipped with a gas hob stove and kettle, Utensils & crockery, two camp lights, water carrier and cool box (swap service of cool blocks). Just outside is your very own picnic table/bench and coal fired BBQ.
We have spacious pitches around the perimeter of our large main camping field and additional secluded alcove pitches in our wooded area. We leave the large meadow in the middle of the camping field empty so there is room for children and families to relax and play. There is an area of woodland with little dens for the children to explore and a woodland walk suitable for dogs.
The small children’s play area is in the main field with swings, slide, tower and sand table. Picnic tables are situated where you can take advantage of the beautiful views over the Rother Valley and watch the quaint steam trains chug past.
There is much to do in the local area with so many pretty villages, historic houses, beautiful gardens, award winning sandy and shingle beaches plus shopping, pubs and restaurants.
Stroll around Rye Harbour, take a boat trip along River Rother or journey back in time on the nostalgic Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.
The small Kentish town of Tenterden with it’s wide tree lined high street and fantastic selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is a 10 minute drive. The fabulous Camber Sands with its award winning sand dune backed beach is a 15 minute drive and the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea are easily accessible.
Finally, return back to Rother Valley Park and round off your evening with a campfire on your pitch, using one of our firepits.
Medieval castles, beautiful towns and gorgeous beaches… it’s all just on our doorstep!
Electric grass pitches on our open field.
Alcoves cut out of our woodland, which vary in shape & size

Absolutely lovely campsite my only concern was that they aloud fire pits when everything is sooooo dry think this is accident waiting to happen
Love this camp site and have visited many times. Lovely location and clean facilities including family wc/shower rooms. Open space for games (or woodland pitches) and there are often lots of other children for my son to play with. He loves it when the steam trains go past. Lots of things to do in the area.Only downside I would say is the entrance into the campsite is a little run down and cluttered and doesn t reflect the quality of the main site itself
Great facilities, i love that there was a big fridge and freezer there for guests to use. They were both fairly full, but always space for what I needed. Clothes washing facilities and hairdryer were handy to have should we have needed them. The washing up and toilet/shower areas were always clean. The little shop was ideal, only could have done with more ice creams and possibly suncream as I nabbed the ladt one. Very reasonable prices and friendly, hardworking owners. Fantastic location being so close to the river where we could paddleboard and steam train to Bodium Castle. I preferred this campsite to the one down the road, it's quieter and more peaceful.
Loved our stay, clean and friendly site with a great family atmosphere. Toilet and showers were mostly clean, water was very hot in the showers. But overall a great site and we will be back.
We stayed for two night and instantly loved the place on arrival. They were friendly and accommodating. It was a beautiful peaceful sight that was well maintained. While setting up we received a complementary bag of logs and fire pit! The toilet and showers were probably one of the best we have seen over the years. Very clean and tidy and plenty of room for all. I would highly recommend this campsite.
Staff were friendly and helpful. We found our pod to be clean and well equipped.
Very nice campsite, with lovely staff. The toilets and showers are very clean and spacious. Would recommend!
Arrived to see pitches so close together no privacy, children running wild and playing football in middle of field. It was first weekend of school holidays which we had not measured the difference in campsites away from the coast sufficiently. We were slowly introducing our 1 year old collie to camping so this was too difficult for him thus we turned around and left.If busy, lively camping experience is what your'e after then this is for you. If you want calm then I would avoid at least in the school holidays.
Good location and facilities. It was a surprise that the football was shown in the party tent between 10pm and midnight as we had expected no noise after 10pm. It was the noisiest I've known a campsite and made it impossible to sleep. Some warning about this would have been nice.
We stayed with friends in the ‘Woodland’ area which was good on such a hot weekend. (pitch 11&12). A brilliant Marquee was set up to watch the football. Shows and toilet facilities really good. Hosts also very accommodating. Lovely location. Would definitely recommend.
