Rother Valley Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the outskirts of Northiam on the East Sussex and Kent border. Providing a secluded and safe environment, this park is surrounded by beautiful open countryside yet remains close to the local amenities and attractions.
On Park, we can cater for caravans, tourers and motorhomes of all sizes with or without electric hook-up. We also of course welcome campers … and dogs are welcome too!
Try something a little different? We have two fantastic luxury Glamping Pods. These new pods offer a unique camping experience accommodating two in a double pod and four in a 2 double bed pod. Each pod has comfortable double beds, microwave oven, kettle and utensils/crockery. Bring your own bedding.
Our new Bell Tents are fully equipped and ready for you to start your holiday immediately. Each Bell Tent accommodates up to 4 people so are ideal for families and small groups and is equipped with a gas hob stove and kettle, Utensils & crockery, two camp lights, water carrier and cool box (swap service of cool blocks). Just outside is your very own picnic table/bench and coal fired BBQ.
We have spacious pitches around the perimeter of our large main camping field and additional secluded alcove pitches in our wooded area. We leave the large meadow in the middle of the camping field empty so there is room for children and families to relax and play. There is an area of woodland with little dens for the children to explore and a woodland walk suitable for dogs.
The small children’s play area is in the main field with swings, slide, tower and sand table. Picnic tables are situated where you can take advantage of the beautiful views over the Rother Valley and watch the quaint steam trains chug past.
There is much to do in the local area with so many pretty villages, historic houses, beautiful gardens, award winning sandy and shingle beaches plus shopping, pubs and restaurants.
Stroll around Rye Harbour, take a boat trip along River Rother or journey back in time on the nostalgic Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.
The small Kentish town of Tenterden with it’s wide tree lined high street and fantastic selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is a 10 minute drive. The fabulous Camber Sands with its award winning sand dune backed beach is a 15 minute drive and the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea are easily accessible.
Finally, return back to Rother Valley Park and round off your evening with a campfire on your pitch, using one of our firepits.
Medieval castles, beautiful towns and gorgeous beaches… it’s all just on our doorstep!

At first: english is not our native language so if i made mistakes in the writing I am sorry. We travel with a campervan and had a Nice place on the mainfield. The owner was very friendly and it felt like we were welcome. Some season caravans, Some overnight stayers, probably because of the one hour drive from the ferry/ shuttle. A Nice variaty of pitches. Not that much sjouwers or toilets but it was Nice and clean. Also Nice to know; you are allowed to make a fire, it gives the ultimate camp feeling.
Excellent facilities, Great staff, beautiful location.
Compared to other campsites far too expenive. May be calculated because closest Site to Seven Sisters
Good space in the centre of the site for football etc. Pitches a bit cramped where there is electricity and not separated by any hedges/shrubs so no privacy. Clean facilities and lots of hot water. Helpful staff. Fire pits for rent.
Rother Valley campsite is a large area with pitches around the perimeter and a further woodland area. Unfortunately the pitch that we chose at booking stage was a mud patch. In its defence it was quite large and secluded and within the woodland area. There is only one set of facilities (when we stayed they were clean) but the loos were a long way from the tent and there was also only one pipe for drinking water on site, again some way from our pitch. There were very few campers when we stayed, but I imagine as the site fills up, the number of facilities are too few. We left a night early as simply preferred to be at home and not in mud.
Perfectly located near to Bodiam Castle and Sissinghurst
We had a fantastic weekend, Tam and Alan are so welcoming and nothing was a problem, this is the second time we have been here and will definitely be back 😀😀
We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this campsite. The location is excellent, with a short walk to the river where you can hire boats and enjoy a lovely day on the water. The nearby steam train was also a real highlight and great fun for all ages. The owners are a wonderful couple who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Their warmth and friendliness really add to the special atmosphere of the site. The facilities are spotless and exceptionally well maintained. Having access to a fridge, freezer, washing machine, and dryer was incredibly convenient, and the option to hire a burner and wood was a great touch. What really stood out was the friendly, relaxed atmosphere throughout the campsite. It has a real sense of community while still feeling peaceful and tranquil. To top it all off, the sunsets are absolutely stunning and provide the perfect end to each day. A truly wonderful campsite that we would happily return to.
Rother Valley Campsite is easily the cleanest we have stayed at. You have to applaud the other campers who help maintain this cleanliness but without doubt, the people running the site are clearly working hard to provide a clean environment that nurtures this ethic. It’s not a large site which also helps maintain the community spirit and with the central area retained for kids to play whilst families look on, it is an ideal place to take a family. It also has the viewing platform for the steam trains that is a winner in our household.
Very good, hot water, the owner is very good, great place to gather with the family.
