Rother Valley Camping and Caravan Park is situated on the outskirts of Northiam on the East Sussex and Kent border. Providing a secluded and safe environment, this park is surrounded by beautiful open countryside yet remains close to the local amenities and attractions.
On Park, we can cater for caravans, tourers and motorhomes of all sizes with or without electric hook-up. We also of course welcome campers … and dogs are welcome too!
Try something a little different? We have two fantastic luxury Glamping Pods. These new pods offer a unique camping experience accommodating two in a double pod and four in a 2 double bed pod. Each pod has comfortable double beds, microwave oven, kettle and utensils/crockery. Bring your own bedding.
Our new Bell Tents are fully equipped and ready for you to start your holiday immediately. Each Bell Tent accommodates up to 4 people so are ideal for families and small groups and is equipped with a gas hob stove and kettle, Utensils & crockery, two camp lights, water carrier and cool box (swap service of cool blocks). Just outside is your very own picnic table/bench and coal fired BBQ.
We have spacious pitches around the perimeter of our large main camping field and additional secluded alcove pitches in our wooded area. We leave the large meadow in the middle of the camping field empty so there is room for children and families to relax and play. There is an area of woodland with little dens for the children to explore and a woodland walk suitable for dogs.
The small children’s play area is in the main field with swings, slide, tower and sand table. Picnic tables are situated where you can take advantage of the beautiful views over the Rother Valley and watch the quaint steam trains chug past.
There is much to do in the local area with so many pretty villages, historic houses, beautiful gardens, award winning sandy and shingle beaches plus shopping, pubs and restaurants.
Stroll around Rye Harbour, take a boat trip along River Rother or journey back in time on the nostalgic Kent & Sussex Steam Railway.
The small Kentish town of Tenterden with it’s wide tree lined high street and fantastic selection of independent shops, pubs and restaurants is a 10 minute drive. The fabulous Camber Sands with its award winning sand dune backed beach is a 15 minute drive and the seaside towns of Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill-on-Sea are easily accessible.
Finally, return back to Rother Valley Park and round off your evening with a campfire on your pitch, using one of our firepits.
Medieval castles, beautiful towns and gorgeous beaches… it’s all just on our doorstep!

First time staying here for many years, love the clean new services block, especially the communal fridge & freezer, and enjoyed the peace and quiet and nature of the woodland camping for the first three nights. Unfortunately on the final evening a group camping in the corner of the field seemed to think that everyone else there wanted to listen to their loud music, and didn't like being asked to turn it down. Not the site's fault, but reflects general decline in camping etiquette in recent years.
We had a brilliant stay, we stayed from Friday to Sunday with family and big group of friends all with children. I really enjoyed that fact they had a big green area for gatherings and for the children to play all kinds of sports. The woods were also a hit with the kids. Facilities were brilliant, washing up liquid provided with designated washing areas. The toilets were clean and showers were great. They also had a fridge available for guests to use the staff were very friendly and helpful. My only criticism would be to have a quite time after 10pm. It was very noisy, one nught until about 3am, when you have children it is difficult to put them to bed or have quite wind down time with so much noise. Would recommend and stay again for sure.
Very nice and relaxing break.
all you need for camping in the nature
Very clean place, facilities great, lovely friendly people. 100% recommended.
So this is a return to caravaning after many, many years. The pitch was plenty big enough for our caravan, awning and car, which was great. The office staff were so helpful and accommodating, everything was easy. Toilets, showers and washing up facilities were just perfect. I have already booked a return and with luck the weather will be better so we can do a little exploration. Better still the second photo is the back of a nice curry house.
We visited Rother Valley as our first outing into camping as a family (2 adults and 2 young kids) and picked this site after reading other reviews, and we're glad we did. The site was great as a first trip, the pitch was ready a little earlier that the midday quoted on the terms and the staff allowed us to pitch straight away. A simple grass pitch with EHU, which was easily accessible. The toilet block and showers were perfect, nice and clean, despite the muddy outside causing footprints. The showers were also great, clean and working well, if anything they were too hot - but you can't complain about that! Pot washing facilities were also very good, with washing up liquid supplied, and 3 large sinks next to a shared use fridge and freezer!Staff were great, and on leaving/losing an item during pack up, they happily searched for it, found it and posted it back to me! Stars!I'd happily go back to Rother Valley, and would definitely recommend to others! Thanks!
What a fantastic place to stay. We’ve been coming to Rother Valley for the past 5 years and even though we live 10-15 minutes away it’s like we’re in a different country. The park has great amenities and extremely clean! Tam and Alan welcome you like family and nothing is ever to much. Love this place have booked to bring the kids next time
Really nice location and friendly staff. Buses to Hastings, Rye and Tenterden operating on the road nearby. Lots of expansion going on with lots of addition of facilities. Items such as the picnic tables were a nice touch. Newly constructed toilet block and washing facilities which were very clean. Currently only 2 showers available so probably need more in high season.Very relaxed - great for a short stay.
We enjoyed our two nights here, good facilities, helpful staff and good location. We've already recommended to others and planning to return next year.
