Had a good stay here. Toilets and showers clean. Hard standing for campervan which is also for your awning if you have one so it is a little difficult to pitch this. Glad we had a camping carpet as we needed this.We were there early in the season so there was a bit of building and site prep going on which was a wee bit noisy but I'm sure it would be fine in the peak season. You can walk into Hawick in about an hour and there is also a bus that stops at the entrance to the site. We took a taxi which was reasonably priced. Quite a few statics on the site with Riverside views if you fancy that instead of touring. The hens for me were a bonus, they roam freely around the site and will pop over to see you if there is food around. Lovely riverside walk too. All in all I recommend Riverside.
A great location for the Scottish Borders. Small site with good clean, warm facilities. The staff were all helpful and friendly. Walks directly from the site along the river into Hawick. The fully serviced pitches were a good size. The pitches are close to a busy road but being in a dip the noise is minimal. Will certainly use again when back touring the borders.
POT wash area not ideal being outside in colder damp days. No soap in Gents and one of ladies cubicles does not lockStaff very friendly overall clean and tidy site
Caravan 34ProsThe caravan was well appointed, including towels etc.Sadly that's where the positives endConsTV signal was woeful. Not one single channel could be tuned without becoming pixelated and jumpyWiFi was non-existent. Apparently a known issue but failed to mention it at time of bookingNo phone signal either, so I couldn't even use my phone as a hotspot for work purposesNo compensation offered despite having to cut my trip short. Still waiting on a response from the campsite.Caravan was very close to a noisy roadBeds were unbelievably soft (personal preference, but it's a no-go for me and my back)Staff were short, bordering on rude over the phone and via emailFront door and patio doors have daylight when fully closed/locked, so they need to be replaced/fixed (draughty)Overall, it's very basic, but the customer service was so poor, I couldn't possibly recommend it, unless you were desparate.
We were a bit disappointed that there were no views of the river from the pitch just looking at other motor homes and caravans. But we enjoyed a nice walk along the river instead. Very helpful staff and clean warm amenities too. Loved the chickens coming to say hello when we arrived !
Secure, clean and a short drive to Hawick. Very well run with pleasant staff. Wayne as an ex top notch Springbok rugby player is an interesting character.
Site is in a nice location next to the river (obviously) with easy access from the main road.Reception (Julie) very friendly and accommodating with good advice on local walks.Easy walk into Hawick along a riverside path, lots of pubs, restaurants, and shops. Nice museum in Morton park.Facilities on site limited and one working toilet not ideal although site was fairly quiet.Pitch services OK but pitches close together and TV aerial hook up not working
Location a bit isolated. Staff friendly. Gfavilities good, toilet and showers very clean. Value for money fair.
Friendly welcome. Chicken droppings on our pitch. Noisy road. Only one toilet working . Grass needed cutting, generally looked down at heal. Needs more input from staff and investment from the owner's.
The pitches and the facilities are really good. The noise from the street is acceptable. We missed the bridge over the River Tevior which is drawn in the plans, so the planned evening walk was not possible. And only one toilet in the facilities for each sex is not enough, there musst be always the option to find a suitable toilet if really needed.
