A lovely quiet campsite with a lovely riverwalk to Hawick... excellent facilities... spotless and either the facilities are well cleaned and polished or brand new. A nice helpful and welcoming guy in reception. Washing dishes is in the open air but it didn'r rain and was fine. We have a dog. He loved the river walk and most cafes in Hawick welcome dogs...
The touring pitches are right next to a very busy 60mph road. There are signs about closing toilet doors and going back and tidy the washroom if you haven't left it tidy. Unfortunately one of the bins next to the pitches is emptied before 7, the other on another day just after 7. So it’s not for us, we like to get away from the noise of everyday life. However, if you can cope with these things the staff are very friendly, the site is in beautiful countryside and there are chickens wandering around the pitches.
Location good for the town Taxis reasonably priced and good availability Friendly staff who sort out any problems you may have The lodge was clean but a little tired in places Some bedding could do with updating ( duvets and pillows) Also an extra small table and a table lamp or dimmer switch would be a bonus When exiting the site care is needed because the road is fast and busy For 6 people in a lodge the price is OK We visited the Cross Keys in Denholm for a meal which is only 3 miles away The park is worth a visit and it's museum has a display featuring Steve Hislop motorcyclist who was from the area, apart from other interesting history
We had a lovely time there the location is perfect for Hawick the site was clean and tidy peaceful at night. The pitches are a good size. The free range chickens running around added to our entertainment. Lovely walks.
A Great stop over for visiting Hawick, Denholm or walking on Rubers Law hill, Drive, bus or walk to each destination... or further.
Riverview has excellent, well-maintained facilities and there’s a lovely riverside walk nearby. Staff are friendly and very efficient.
The campsite itself was nice. Unfortunately we were placed on pitch 3 next a tatty caravan on pitch 4. The family staying there had a boy around 6 years old who was not sufficiently supervised by his parents and on 3 occasions on the one evening we were there hurled gravel at us and our new van. Our van is only a few months old and is now covered in stone chips. The child also stole food from our table whilst I was cooking outside on a Cadac. He could have been burned or started a fire running around it. We were unable to leave the van unattended for the evening as we had protect our property. The family kept coming and going late at night racing around in their car with crying children on board. We left as early as possible next morning. If these are regular visitors to the campsite please consider the safety of others.
The site was very clean, quiet and facilities good. However, people with dogs from owned caravans were walking their dogs in the touring area and letting them wet and foul on the grassed area that the Torres were at and not their own. Chicken poo everywhere and with a 2 yr old not good as he was constantly walking in it on the grass and gravel. No shop on site. Park needed a good clean and tidy up. Hawick not to far away but defo needed transport. Lilliardsedge lush fir Sunday Carvery.
This was our second visit to this site and once again we were very happy with our stay. One observation was that I slipped in the shower (ladies) which was a bit scary as I am unsteady on my feet due to arthritis in my knees. My husband also commented on the gents showers that he felt they were very small and he had to step into the shower cabinet to open and close the door.Having said this it will not stop us returning as the site is very calm and relaxing
The site is in the lovely village of Coldingham. We did not manage to use many of the facilities as only stopping for one night, The pitch was slightly short for our 7.54m motorhome. The toilet and shower block was clean and adequate- needs a bit of updating.I feel this site is more set up for holiday homes rather than tourers- not really our type of site.
