Ardnamurchan

Fellows, Patricia - 26/10/2022

We first came here in 1984 and have visited many times ‘‘This was to be our last visit as we are now in our 80s. The log cabin was fine, well equipped. Sadly we never saw another soul for a whole week apart from a wave from a man walking his dog. We never saw the owners at all. There was none of the atmosphere we wanted to recapture since the caravan/camping site was no more. Ardnamurchan still remains a wonderful area and Sanna beach is great. We did see a white tailed sea eagle and lots of Deer

Lovely view when opened curtains each morning (Birch Lodge), very peaceful (outside school holiday period). Was photographing deer near Loch Sunnart, more fences and less deer than 10 years ago! Love the place and hope to go back again.

We have stayed here for several years from camping to staying in the lodges

Dimmock, Anne Marie - 15/09/2022

We first found this site a geed few years ago whilst looking for camping sites and good areas for sea kayaking. For the first few years we used the camp site then upgraded to the lodges. The lodges are fabulous and the whole area is more so. Whether you are here for kayaking, walking, wildlife, family or just solitude for a week or two then this is the place for you! The hosts make sure you have all that is needed for your stay and after the initial contact of making sure everything is ok for you they then leave you to enjoy your stay

Superb family holiday!

Gunn, Steve - 24/08/2022

I have been many times, but this was the first with grandchildren- it definitely won’t be the last! If you enjoy the great outdoors, fresh air, nature, and are not really bothered about the weather, this is the place for you. We stayed in hawthorn, which is finished to a very high standard, very comfortable with everything you need for your stay. The local area has everything you need to enjoy yourself- walking, biking, swimming in the loch, boating, and of course Ballamorey is a short ferry ride away! Also terrific local restaurants cooking local produce. Everyone is already looking forward to next year!

A comfortable chalet in a quiet and beautiful unspoilt area

Mackie, Diana - 20/07/2022

We stayed in Birch Chalet. It was comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed walks and cycles in the area and were impressed with the number of car-parking areas and signed walks provided by the Forestry commission or the local authority. We also greatly appreciated the maps and walk booklets provide in the chalet. I recommend The 'Singing Sands' beach and Castle Tioram as great beaches and the walk to the old Lead mines from Strontian. Some information on local eating places would be helpful. Salen Hotel would not feed us after 7pm!
