Nestled in the Eden Valley surrounded by rolling countryside Pennine View Park is perfectly placed for walking, cycling and simply relaxing. We are a family-run caravan and camp site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from the centre of the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen and are only a short drive from both the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines, meaning that there are lots of walks and cycle routes nearby catering for all tastes.
We accommodate tents, touring caravans, campervans and motorhomes and have a secluded camping field which is perfectly flat, surrounded by lush green hedges and within easy reach of the facilities with electrical hook ups available. We have a range of pitches including full gravel hard standing, half gravel/half grass pitches and full grass pitches, all of which can accommodate your caravan, motorhome or campervan and offer electrical hook ups. Our on site facilities include spacious modern washrooms with mirrors, hair dryers and baby changing facilities, a large disabled room which doubles up as a family cubicle, laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and spin dryer and ice pack freezing facilities. We have a small shop in reception selling essentials to keep you well stocked up and WiFi is freely available on site.
Children and dogs are more than welcome here at Pennine View and we provide a children's play area complete with a swing, climbing frame and slide. For the pups, there are multiple walks available directly off site and we ask that while on site, they are kept on a lead. You won't be stuck for eateries with an abundance of pubs and restaurants available all within a short distance from the park such as The Black Bull, The Pennine Hotel, The Kings Arms, Nateby Inn and much much more! As well as the opportunities for walks, hikes and bike rides in the local area, there are many interesting tourist attractions to fill up your days before heading back to base for a good nights rest.
For the culture vultures and history fans, there are heaps of castles and ruins nearby just waiting to be explored. Appleby Castle, Brough Castle, Pendragon Castle and Lammerside Castle just to name a few! Stainmore Railway Company have developed their disused station into a fabulous Heritage Centre and operational railway which allows visitors to come and have a nosey at the weekends. For more active excursions, try a bit of paragliding over our local fells or hire a bike in Kirkby Stephen to enjoy the scenery on 2 wheels.
For a more glamourous camping experience, why not try out our beautiful bell tents and mountain pods!

We really enjoyed our stay at Pennine View. We chose it because of the great location, within walking distance of a couple of pubs. In the end we spent both evenings in the onsite bar where the food and live music were an added bonus. Great roads for cycling.
I think this campsite is absolutely wonderful! I camped over the weekend and was very very impressed with the facilities, and the high standard of them. On the camping field were 2 toilets, 2 free showers, water and waste water facilities, variety of bins for recycling waste, campers washing up sinks with metal drainers, and a camp kitchen, which was exactly what it said! Also chairs, a bookshelf with lots of books. Pitches are numbered, of a very decent size, and all with EHU as standard, and free wi-fi.The owners are so friendly and helpful, lovely people. Caravans and motorhomes are on a separate area and have separate facilities. There is also a lovely children's play area, and The Engine Shed, licensed bar and food available.Barriers on the site, for which I was given a pin code for getting in, and small shop on reception. Pitches are in hedged areas, and all in all, it's a truly lovely place I will most certainly visit again. And have told all my camping friends about it
We had a lovely wide level pitch, with easy access to the toilet block etc. Although we only stayed two nights, we used all the facilities. The shower was nice and hot. There were only two available, but I see the block is going to be updated later this year, and the number of showers will be increased which will be a great benefit. Everything and everywhere was really clean and tidy. We loved the Engine Shed bar and ate there both nights. Lovely food provided by variety of caterers. Loved our stay and would definitely recommend.
We are getting married in Kirkby Stephen this year and camped her to see the local area. The camp site is in a great spot for walking routes round Kirkby Stephen. I would recommend this site as its very clean and quiet, amenities are all clean and tidy too
We were our pitch, just I little walk the engine shed the weather was onto the best
The Pennine View campsite is a real little gem. A very tidy well spaced out site with good facilities in a great central location. Our only issue is the size of the showers , there seems to be a lot of wasted space in the facilities that would allow for more spacious shower rooms. But the best asset on Pennine View site is The Engine Room Pub Bistro. What a wonderful use of an old building, it was warm and comfortable and was full of character. The drink and food prices were very reasonable and the staff extremely friendly. We will definitely be coming back again when up in Cumbria.
We found this brilliant site by chance on our way home from Scotland. We only intended staying for one night but enjoyed it so much we extended our stay. The site is immaculate with excellent facilities and a superb bar and food court which is also used by the locals of Kirkby Stephen. The reception has a small shop for essentials and they will also pick up a newspaper from the local shop for you if you order it the day before.I found that to be a really nice touch. The staff did everything possible to make your stay enjoyable and we would highly recommend this site.
We loved our stay at Pennine View! The camping facilities were amazing. Great campers kitchen where you could make a brew, charge your gadgets and sit in and dry off. The highlight was definitely the food and bar facilities. We were there on a Thursday and the tacos were amazing! We're looking forwards to coming back and hopefully staying longer!
It had everything we needed and more
Welcoming and helpful staff, great facilities.
