Nestled in the Eden Valley surrounded by rolling countryside Pennine View Park is perfectly placed for walking, cycling and simply relaxing. We are a family-run caravan and camp site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from the centre of the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen and are only a short drive from both the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines, meaning that there are lots of walks and cycle routes nearby catering for all tastes.
We accommodate tents, touring caravans, campervans and motorhomes and have a secluded camping field which is perfectly flat, surrounded by lush green hedges and within easy reach of the facilities with electrical hook ups available. We have a range of pitches including full gravel hard standing, half gravel/half grass pitches and full grass pitches, all of which can accommodate your caravan, motorhome or campervan and offer electrical hook ups. Our on site facilities include spacious modern washrooms with mirrors, hair dryers and baby changing facilities, a large disabled room which doubles up as a family cubicle, laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and spin dryer and ice pack freezing facilities. We have a small shop in reception selling essentials to keep you well stocked up and WiFi is freely available on site.
Children and dogs are more than welcome here at Pennine View and we provide a children's play area complete with a swing, climbing frame and slide. For the pups, there are multiple walks available directly off site and we ask that while on site, they are kept on a lead. You won't be stuck for eateries with an abundance of pubs and restaurants available all within a short distance from the park such as The Black Bull, The Pennine Hotel, The Kings Arms, Nateby Inn and much much more! As well as the opportunities for walks, hikes and bike rides in the local area, there are many interesting tourist attractions to fill up your days before heading back to base for a good nights rest.
For the culture vultures and history fans, there are heaps of castles and ruins nearby just waiting to be explored. Appleby Castle, Brough Castle, Pendragon Castle and Lammerside Castle just to name a few! Stainmore Railway Company have developed their disused station into a fabulous Heritage Centre and operational railway which allows visitors to come and have a nosey at the weekends. For more active excursions, try a bit of paragliding over our local fells or hire a bike in Kirkby Stephen to enjoy the scenery on 2 wheels.
For a more glamourous camping experience, why not try out our beautiful bell tents and mountain pods!

Everything spot on apart from one or two dogs barking during the day spoiling the peace and quite the main reason we go away for, apart from that excellent value for money ..
Facilities cleaned regularly and safe.Shop and reception helpful and informative.Pitches are large, tidy, well kept and well spaced. All staff are friendly, Happy, kind, helpful - creating a lovely environment wherever you are!Children’s play area is spacious, safe, clean, tidy.Refuse points are regularly cleared (possibly would add more recycling instructions at the top section as campers were being a bit lazy putting all rubbish in one bin!! Not the campsites fault though) Additional wooden bench to the one already at the top site would be useful, to move aboutThe campers kitchen - five stars ⭐️ And finally the icing on the cake…. The Engine Shed. Good selection of drinks, great selection of food offerings alternating each night, superb bathroom facilities, gorgeous seating areas inside and outside: covered and uncovered and with a fire pit….. everything you can think of, excellent.A huge Thank you to the owners, it’s evident you’ve invested money and love into this
Pam & Wendy in the office were a great help when organising 20 Friends to stay here in tents, caravans & motorhomes and we were all together which was great. Lovely site and facilities clean.Plenty of walks from the site and Kirkby Stephen is a nice town. The bar on site is excellent and reasonably priced with draft ales and decent lager on tap.The catering is a great idea and my only gripe was we pre ordered 20 Pizzas and even tough I checked the week before the guy lost our order and did not text me so we had to wait but at least we ate. I don't think the catering is linked to the site though, this is outsourced. It would not put me off going again though and we have this on our list of favourites now.Well done to the owners on a great site and on having friendly and helpful staff. The guy in his little truck even bought us over bricks for our barbecues, couldn't do enough for us, thank you.
We have stayed here a couple of times, a fantastic family place , staff could not be more helpful nothing is to much trouble, bar and food on site are fantastic, can’t wait to go back again .
My favourite park of all I've visited. The staff are friendly and helpful. The on site facilities are 100%. Walks views and wildlife around are beautiful always see red squirrel and birds on the rivers. Wren, dippers ,grey wagtail , fly catchers and many othersKirby stephen is a short walk away and had everything that you need. It is all so dog friendly.
Clean, welcoming, peaceful and lovely walks. Would recommend this site.
This site is quite simply the best we've ever visited.. Great location. Excellent facilities. Spotlessly clean...
Staff very friendly and helpful Site spacious and well looked afterSafe playground which was enjoyed by the youngest member of our groupBar is amazing and food good.handy for Kirby Stephen, and plenty of walks in the area, down by the river and the viaduct walk.Only downside was a queue for a shower at 9 oclock a.m. and the water ran cold. Just shower at a different time. May be an extra shower and a wash basin less would help. Will certainly go back and take the family as it is a good site in a perfect location
From the minute we got to the place we knew we had made the correct choice. Pam in reception greeted us with a big smile went through all we needed to know. Our given pitch was near to the pub ,(need not have worried wasn't noisy)and we asked for a quiet pitch.. no problem what do ever . Given a choice of pitches . We chose a pitch up on the camping pitches. Lovely and shaded under the trees as weather was very hot.Showers and toilets kept spotlessly clean and plenty of them. The whole site is immaculate. Not far from the town centre couple of mins drive or a 20 minutes walk. Lovely pub on site that offers different food 6 nights s week. The pizza was great as were the noodles. Lovely young barmaid was friendly and helpful and always had time for a little chat. After 3 nights we moved on to our next site at Pooley Bridge. ... A very different experience rude reception staff and a dreadful pitch. We decided to leave. Phoned Pennine view explained the situation they found us a pi
