Nestled in the Eden Valley surrounded by rolling countryside Pennine View Park is perfectly placed for walking, cycling and simply relaxing. We are a family-run caravan and camp site on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, a mile from the centre of the historic market town of Kirkby Stephen and are only a short drive from both the Lake District National Park and the North Pennines, meaning that there are lots of walks and cycle routes nearby catering for all tastes.

We accommodate tents, touring caravans, campervans and motorhomes and have a secluded camping field which is perfectly flat, surrounded by lush green hedges and within easy reach of the facilities with electrical hook ups available. We have a range of pitches including full gravel hard standing, half gravel/half grass pitches and full grass pitches, all of which can accommodate your caravan, motorhome or campervan and offer electrical hook ups. Our on site facilities include spacious modern washrooms with mirrors, hair dryers and baby changing facilities, a large disabled room which doubles up as a family cubicle, laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, ironing board and spin dryer and ice pack freezing facilities. We have a small shop in reception selling essentials to keep you well stocked up and WiFi is freely available on site.

Children and dogs are more than welcome here at Pennine View and we provide a children's play area complete with a swing, climbing frame and slide. For the pups, there are multiple walks available directly off site and we ask that while on site, they are kept on a lead. You won't be stuck for eateries with an abundance of pubs and restaurants available all within a short distance from the park such as The Black Bull, The Pennine Hotel, The Kings Arms, Nateby Inn and much much more! As well as the opportunities for walks, hikes and bike rides in the local area, there are many interesting tourist attractions to fill up your days before heading back to base for a good nights rest.

For the culture vultures and history fans, there are heaps of castles and ruins nearby just waiting to be explored. Appleby Castle, Brough Castle, Pendragon Castle and Lammerside Castle just to name a few! Stainmore Railway Company have developed their disused station into a fabulous Heritage Centre and operational railway which allows visitors to come and have a nosey at the weekends. For more active excursions, try a bit of paragliding over our local fells or hire a bike in Kirkby Stephen to enjoy the scenery on 2 wheels.

For a more glamourous camping experience, why not try out our beautiful bell tents and mountain pods!

Beautiful site well worth a visit

Burgess, Brittany - 14/05/2022

Having just returned from a 2 night stay at this site, I can confidently say I can’t wait to return. The site itself is in a beautiful, quiet and picturesque location, well within walking distance of the local village. The staff are friendly and helpful, all the facilities are beautifully immaculate and well maintained and the on-site park and pub are a definite plus! Plenty local walks in the area and all within a stunning location.

Wonderful Site

Boullier, Ken - 13/05/2022

We have stayed at Pennine View Park two years running and it has always exceeded our expectations. This year our visit was combined with holding the reception for our daughter's wedding at The Engine Shed, which was wonderful! Lots of family and friends camped together which extended the celebrations and gathering over several days. Rachael & Ian and all the staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The improvements to The Engine Shed are terrific, what a great venue with such a lovely atmosphere.

We have been visiting this site regularly for the last 4-5 years. It is definitely one of our favorites. It ticks all the boxes for us. It's a very friendly and clean site which is in a great location and fab for the kids. With the new engine shed, even more reason for going.

Nice to town and lovely local walks around the river

Armitstead, Armitstead - 12/05/2022

A very nice site with close proximity to the river. We thought the Barn may cause some concern because of a wedding, we were not disturbed at all. Showers were a little small but plenty of hot water.

Overall a very good site

Richards, Kevin - 06/05/2022

This is a great campsite. It's kept clean and tidy. The whole site is level and although it looks hemmed in it feels open and has great views of the Pennines. The showers are good and there are individual wash rooms. Washing up is outside, but I did manage to find an indoor sink 😀. Kirkby Stephen is within walking distance and the coast to coast route is very close by

Wash Shower Facilities and unruly children

Hunter-Hall, Christine - 06/05/2022

4

We gave Pennine View Park 5 stars for everything except the poor shower/wash facilities which we feel should be reflected in the price for pitch fees so we gave a 3 star for price and value for money. The showers for the main caravan area are well due a refurb. They are out of date in line with the rest of the site. The water temperature in the disabled and the none disabled showers was only tepid. We have friends who had stayed at this same site only the previous weekend who told us the shower water temperature was scolding hot so they were unable to use the shower facilities. On the Saturday night children were running riot while their parents were in the Engine Shed. They were running inbetween and over other peoples pitches chasing rabbits, they were pulling flower heads off flowers, breaking branches off trees and shouting. We were disappointed that there was no one to monitor or take control of their actions. My husband reported what had been going on to the person on duty the next morning only to find that she was staying in a caravan for the weekend just a bit further up and on the opposite side from where we were pitched with her children.
