Delicious pizza on site

Thompson, Emma - 04/08/2022

We stayed for two nights whilst tackling the Yorkshire 3 peaks. Huge site and the facilities were spotless considering the size of the site, though showers can get busy at peak times. Pitch was a decent size and very flat, I noticed you could opt in for a fire and wood each night as a guy comes around on a quad bike offering them, nice touch. As it was a the school holidays the site was busy and noisy at times with people playing music. The facilities were abit far from our pitch, especially when you've sore legs! Ha. The on-site shop and wood fired pizza was a nice touch, we had a delicious pizza after our walk which hit the spot. I noticed there was a dog walk area, I'll try to come back and bring the dogs as would be a good site to get them used to camping. Nice pubs nearby too, we went to the game cock, can get busy so make sure to book ahead. Campsite staff were very friendly and welcoming, would recommend this site to all.

Let down by the weather

Sharp, James - 04/08/2022

We arrived to a friendly welcome and things stayed at a high level. Facilities, toilets, showers, and pot room were all clean with lots of hot water. On-site takeaway provided an affordable hot meal that hit the spot after a very wet day doing the 3 peaks. We will return and hopefully the sun will shine!

Lovely clean site ! Very poor water pressure for fully serviced pitch.

Wormstone, Chris - 04/08/2022

Lovely site , clean, excellent facilities! Just one major issue with water pressure when paying for fully serviced pitches. It is very poor at times even to point where no water would come out of tap. Friend had exactly the same issue. Some pressure one minute then other times no pressure at all. Shower was unusable! When use barrel with pump there are no issues so not a van problem ! When not connected up turning tap on at connection point is very weak flow. Big pitty for otherwise very good site! I would suggest to look at this problem because the site would then be fantastic to visit again but does put one off after paying for full service pitch and not been able to use it

For me very opened, tents were about 5m away each other, I will allow there some spaces for privacy more, maybe bushes, trees on site. I would rate this site high as toilets and all stuff was clean.

Bins area is close to toilets, which is useful, I will prefer to get kids into the playground as they hit couple of times our car. So far it is parents fault, they should to teach their kids manners. I would maybe make an investment into the part were you can lock parents/ kids who do not know how to behave. I think it was only and great visit of the Lake district area for holiday, more-likely 3peaks, White scar, walk which starts from Ingleton is nice for waterfalls. Definitely good holiday over this area, there are also nice places all round in UK. So if you are fan of the same place- go for this site as it is nice and clean, you will be provided with firepit and wood(£6), nice customer service. Gary looks maybe grumpy sometimes, but has heart at the right place!

Great Stay

Rogers, Debbie - 02/08/2022

Our 2nd trip and yet again very satisfied, staff, facilities, cleanliness, all excellent, dog run area great, only comment would be maybe blocking off bottom of access gate , with some fencing to area where you can let dogs off lead, as we have a puppy and possible to get out, great seeing the horse trotting around in mornings. We will be back after school holidays and looking forward to it.

Well managed and maintained site

Earle, Leanne - 01/08/2022

Stayed with my 4 year old on my own. Was slightly apprehensive about my first solo camp with a child but felt completely safe. There was no issues with noise late on which I appreciated. Very family friendly. The picnic benches and firepits available for free were a fantastic touch. Staff were helpful and friendly . There is an information room where they have printed maps and directions for a variety of local walks. The facilities were immaculate. The site is large and didn't feel crammed in. Ingleborough caves near by were worth a visit and if you have young children, Thornton Hall Farm about 30 minutes away was a great day out.

Attention to detail makes this a first class campsite!

Nuttall, Alison - 31/07/2022

The owners are clearly proud of their fabulous campsite and justifiably so! From a very warm welcome to being shown to our immaculate, perfectly level, very generously sized hard standing pitch with our own EHU and water tap we were already feeling very comfortable. Having taken the time to admire the 360 degree view from the picnic bench on our pitch we visited the information room which had print outs of local walks. The loo block was one of the best we’ve ever used and I think the fact that it was so clean with spa standard showers, Brabantia bins and luxury toilet roll encouraged the users to also look after the facilities. We were only there for two nights and were quite sad to be moving on, next time we’ll stay longer!

Large, very well run site with excellent facilities

Phillips, Andy - 31/07/2022

I stayed one night on a motorcycling trip and was very impressed with the site. The staff at reception were friendly and efficient and I was shown to my pitch very quickly. The toilets and showers are modern and very clean. The on-site food was good and very reasonably priced. Only a 20-minute walk to the lovely Game Cock pub in Austwick.Highly recommended.
