Moss Wood is a fabulous family run caravan park for Holiday Homes, Touring Caravans and Motorhomes, nestled in a tree lined vale near the ancient village of Cockerham, and provides easy access to walks on the coastal path and nearby areas of Natural Outstanding Beauty.
Skelwith Fold's 90 touring pitches for Caravan and Motorhome holidays are scattered throughout a 130-acre woodland site, offering guests the opportunity to cohabit with wildlife, woodland, wetland and fell habitats found within the caravan sites boundaries.
All touring pitches are hard standing, offer electric hook-up and are conveniently located for use of the free toilet and shower blocks. Guests have access to laundry facilities, water standpipes and the reception can offer a gas exchange. There is a well stocked shop, internet access and even a Trust Library.
The park also have available 4 self-contained Hideaways which are located in one of the park’s quietest and most wildlife-friendly spots. These two-berth Hideaways provide a unique ambience that cannot be experienced anywhere else in the Lake District.

Good site. Spent 4 years here with a seasonal pitch and then after COVID we returned in a CamperVan
Wwe had a fabulous stay at Moss Wood Caravan park. Our welcome was very friendly and the facilities were first class. The toilet block was spotless and the pitches clear and well serviced. My children really enjoyed the play areas and the large field for ball games was a welcome plus. There was lots to explore in the area and it was close enough to Blackpool for day trips. Many thanks for a lovely stay and we hope to return again.
We stayed at Moss Wood for the first time in our Motor Home on a fully serviced hard standing pitch and were very impressed with the site. Well maintained and clean, peaceful, nice little shop/reception with a lovely lady welcoming us. Great dog walking facilities. Everybody was really friendly and we can’t wait to return!
Lovely quiet site with very clean, heated toilets and showers. The 2 play areas were a real hit with my little girl and the shop was well stocked.
Excellent pitches and amenities. Lovely parks and dog walking area. Slightly scary lane to get into the park as very narrow in parts. I would like to note that we are new to caravanning so this may be the norm.
Fantastic site good location warm and friendly welcome great dog walk facilities clean and warm will definitely return for a peaceful and relaxing holiday
Spotless site.. lovely feel, lots of space. excellently ran.. loved it and will come back soon
Lovely lady on reception, very helpful and informative, the facilities were excellent, clean and well presented, the doors in the lad was a little squeaky, sounds worse at night x It was our first time with a caravan and was pleased with the pitch although after putting our awning up, there’s not much room for the car x we didn’t explore the sight and wasn’t aware of the size, which included statics Everyone around us was really friendly and we would definitely return again
Facilities were good clean and tidy, maybe a mop for showers.Great area to exercise dog and lovely wood walk we did find the badger set,It was our third visit and hopefully there will be more. It is a good break in journey when going south.
