Offering a picturesque and serene outdoor setting for holidays, Martleaves Farm is a beautifully appointed, adult-only campsite located on the Dorset coast between Weymouth and Portland. Set within the mesmerizing Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, this campsite spans 34 acres of breathtaking countryside.

Designated as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI), Martleaves is a haven for nature enthusiasts and bird watchers alike. With its proximity to Chesil Beach and the charming seaside town of Weymouth, as well as the historic site of the 2012 Olympics in Portland, this site provides a unique blend of rural charm and coastal beauty.

One of the standout features of Martleaves Farm Campsite is its welcoming attitude toward various types of campers. Whether you arrive with a touring caravan, motorhome, campervan, or traditional tent, the campsite caters to all, offering short breaks throughout the entire year. The campsite's commitment to inclusivity is further exemplified by its provision for paddleboarding and kayaking in the nearby Fleet Lagoon, allowing campers to bring and use their own equipment for a delightful aquatic experience just 300 meters from the farm.

The diverse array of animals on the farm adds an extra layer of charm to the camping experience. Alpacas, Shetland ponies, horses, pet pigs, free-range chickens, ducks, geese, and sheep contribute to the farm's lively atmosphere. To ensure the safety and harmony of the animals, dogs are required to be kept on leads until away from the farm. Fortunately, there's a convenient footpath leading down to the sea, where dogs can be let off their leads, allowing both campers and their furry companions to enjoy the natural surroundings.

The campsite's facilities are thoughtfully designed to enhance the overall camping experience. Three centrally heated shower and toilet blocks, along with a purple wet room, ensure that campers have access to clean and comfortable amenities. The daily cleaning and replenishing of showers and toilets reflect the campsite's commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene. For those needing to attend to practical matters, a well-equipped laundry room with a fridge freezer and indoor and outdoor sinks is available. Additionally, a hose on the farmyard facilitates the cleaning of muddy dogs and boots, demonstrating the campsite's attention to detail and camper convenience.

Martleaves Farm goes beyond the typical camping experience by offering farm-fresh products for sale in the farmhouse porch. Campers can indulge in free-range rare breed chicken, bantam, duck, and goose eggs (when available), providing a taste of the local agricultural offerings. The campsite also sells local Dorset Honey and a range of toiletries for campers who may have forgotten essentials, showcasing a commitment to ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay for all.

Peaceful stay

Trim, Donna - 22/03/2024

A peaceful site with great views. Facilities were clean and showers were hot with great pressure. Nice to see the horses being walked out for exercise every day. Driveway was a bit uneven but pitches were a good size and level.Great location for busses into Weymouth.

Excellent location

For our trip the location was excellent. Felt the approach could do with a little tidy up although appreciate there are stables. Very quiet site and good facilities block. Will visit again!

Great views

Dowe, Simon - 21/03/2024

The location of Martleaves provides exceptional views both of Chesil Beach and the coastline (weather permitting). The booking, checkin and out processes were very straight forward and the staff/owners extremely welcoming and helpful.Given the time of year and amount of rainfall we were expecting it to be wet and muddy and we weren't disappointed! The walk to the shower and toilet block was a little treacherous at night even with a torch due to potholes and puddles. An upgrade or just some hole filling would make a massive difference.Overall very happy with or stay and we look forward to returning.

Facilities clean but little outdated, a good view across Portland and Chesil beach . Easy 5 min walk to good fish and chip shop . Pub , Pizza and Chinese takeaway within 5 min walk. Information provided at booking good . Follow directions to site as othe roads narrow for caravans and motorhomes .

Beautiful view, good location

Tooming, Kulli - 06/03/2024

Situated near Weymouth, easy access to the town by bus or walk. Clean and warm shower and toilet block. We had one really windy night. As we were parked sideways towards the beach, our motorhome was rocking badly. The views are beautiful.

It is a working livery stable so it’s not the tidiest. Don’t be put off by the look of the facilities block as they were very warm and clean. Couple of the showers were out of action due to shower hose problems but that is an easy fix

Wright, Terry - 03/03/2024

Fantastic location with a local pub and local bus services just a short distance away. Hardstandings were narrow but adequate. The actual site could do with a refresh with some areas looking very overgrown with weeds.

First impressions

Hayes, Sandy - 13/02/2024

Whilst it was mid winter and we had fabulous views and virtually no one to share site with, at over £40 per night we expected clean bathroom facilities.Good location for walking into town(60 mins) or using the bus or to Chesil beach.

Great location

Tait Lane, Karen - 01/02/2024

Great location and small, friendly site in Wyke Regis near Chesil. Short walk to shops and town centre and buses. Facilities clean and well laid out with hard standing and hook up. Very peaceful and quiet with views across the inlet and oyster farms. Some walks but unfortunately one pathway down to Portland causeway closed for safety. Quirky to find site but persevere!

Fleeting glimpse of the Fleet

Caddy, Nic - 26/01/2024

Basic pitches. Toilets and showers warm and reasonably clean. A bit pricey but we needed a quick local getaway in an area we hadn’t visited for years. Didn’t see any staff as we booked online and were allocated pitch at the time.
