Well kept site with everything close to pitch. Great area to explore but also great to have lovely riverside walk without the worry of traffic. We would definitely return but out of season when it`s not so busy. Owners are about if needed but very unobtrusive. Great area for family camping as there`s plenty of space. Plenty of room on set pitches but could "very small niggle" do with bit better marking and numbering. I think we missed out on being sited with arriving on a Sunday but Julie did call to make sure that everything was ok, thank you.

We love this campsite, beautiful surroundings, spotless facilities in a beautiful rustic converted barn complete with baby birds in nests to watch as you wash up! Friendly and helpful hosts (Robert and Julie) that look after their guests so well. Local pubs with excellent meals not far away along with a well stocked co-op in the local village although please note it closes at 4pm on a Sunday! The kids love having their freedom in the well maintained park on site, you feel safe and relaxed. The walks and the river are an added bonus to this site. The sounds of the birds and the sheep make you feel even more relaxed! We never want to go home and we will continue going back!!

We had a wonderful two nights stay in Julie and were warmly greeted by the owners. Not much not left thought about including a little onsite shop. Hire of a campfire and clean facilities. The site is secure and safe for small children was such a pleasant stay I’m definitely wanting to return

Julia and Robert were most welcoming. The site was very spacious and flat which was excellent for camping. Facilities were also excellent. Showers and toilets clean. Good to have sheltered washing up facilities. Plenty of hot water. An excellent location to explore the Eden valley. Our only suggestion would be that given the large size of the site perhaps it is worth considering having an quiet, adult only, field. There were a lot of children in our Orchard field and while we love children we would have preferred a little more peace. On one occasion our table was knocked over by a football and we lost our Gin and Tonic though the child was most apologetic.Des and Eileen

This was our second stay at Mains Farm as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids. Last year we stayed in a pod which we enjoyed, but the space at night for the four of us was limited. This year we stayed in one of the 3 tipi tents. Plenty of room this time! Like every stay in a tent it was a tad chilly through the night but an extra layer of clothes helped warm us up. This time we also paid extra to have our own bathroom which was clean and well laid out.The honesty shop had an addition this year which went down well with the kids, a fridge full of juice or pop as my English friends call it. It had bottles of diet coke and 7 up and cans of vimto and Irn Bru. Because of the heat, it didn't stay full for long but was always restocked relatively quickly.All in all, another excellent stay at Mains Farm with Robert and Julie and I have no problem with recommending the site for anyone to stay here.

Whenever we plan a trip to the Lakes we always stay here. The pods are an excellent way to camp when you have kids and ours love it!! The owners are so helpful and friendly and make you feel very welcome. Lots of space for the kids to run and play-the river nearby is a bonus and the views from the site are breathtaking! We highly recommend the fire basket for roasting marshmallows and star gazing!The showers are lovely and hot and I’ve always found them and the toilets clean and tidy. Having a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle is a lovely touch and very useful too. No complaints here-we’ll be back soon

We come here every year around the same time. We just love it. The owners are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The pods although basic are always clean and warm. We love the area too. A short walk to the river for paddling and swimming. Cute little park and shop too. Showers are hot and clean. Lots of facilities too like fridge and freezer, kettle and microwave for when things turn a bit wet. For the price you really can’t get better. See you next year!!!

We had a lovely 3 night stay here. This is our second visit and will definitely be returning. Everything you could want with lovely people who run the site. So very helpful and go above and beyond. A lovely set up, clean facilities, not overcrowded and showers always available no matter the time of day. The surrounding area is beautiful and lots of things within a short drive too.

We leave our van there in storage❤️ Nice easy drive love Julia n Robert they are so friendly and nice. We just love it there great location
