Coast to coast walk

Hughes, Andrew - 30/09/2025

The camping pod was ok, clean and comfortable. No internet access in the pods though. The main problem was that we had to pay for a minimum of 2 nights. This was despite telling you that we were only requiring one night as we were on a long distance walk, and incredibly, when we arrived, none of the other Pods were booked. We were doing the Coast to Coast walk and this was a late booking, accommodation was limited and the pods were the only option for us for this night. No flexibility was offered for just booking one night in these circumstances. It was therefore expensive for us and disappointing. We understand you are running a business, but there was no effort made to understand of our situation.

Response from the owner

01 October 2025

Hi Andrew, Thank you for your feedback. Upon checking messages you were told by two members of staff the minimum stay requirement for a pod stay, one via a phone call. We can appreciate why you would be disheartened by this however, as a business, single night stays are not beneficial to us as the cost of cleaning the pods is high. As you had a camping pitch booked initially, the pod was not your sole accommodation choice. Sadly where we are based there is a struggle regarding phone signal which is very much out of our control. Our café WIFI does reach onto our terraced area which can be used at any time and I am told some staff remained past closing so you were able to sit inside to make use of our WIFI. Kind regards, The Lordstones Team

Stayed at the site for 1 night while hiking the Coast to Coast trail as a solo female. I was the only one camping so had the facilities to myself. Staff were very helpful and site and facilities very clean. I would recommend anyone doing this hike to spend the night here.

Weekend stay in the pod

Pattinson, Michael - 11/09/2025

Absalute stunning location in the Cleveland hills and at the weekend you have the whole shebang open, cafe restaurant bar and shop and sometimes a band. The staff are 2nd to none and the food is superb. The glamping pods are perfect especially with the enclosed area just for them with its own little oasis. Will definitely be staying again. Mike

Once again staying in a pod was so relaxing. It was very clean, you have everything you need in there. The staff are all pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The pod village is such a lovely place just to sit on a night and all you can hear is the sheep. We just had our 3rd stay there and will definitely be back. P.S Our dog loves it too 😊❤️

Great Location for camping

I personally had an amazing experience Loved camping but upgraded to the camping hut at the last minute which was perfect for us as a family (4 of us)Only downside was the showers were not in full use and the only one working was cold. ( fortunately for me I Did enjoy the cold water experience for my 7.30 wake up) The rest of my party ‘ not as impressed’.😜🤣Beautiful walks. We will return to this location again.

Lovely area but terrible facilities

Ward, Robert - 21/08/2025

Lovely pitches for camping.Stayed two nights with hookup point.Large party next to us had numerous dogs and children which is fine. The fact that the partying went on to the early hours of both mornings was a bit much. The worst part of the site is the shower blocks and toilets, they were not cleaned at all. On the one occasion I attempted to shower - the shower itself was a trickle. The pot washing facilities were worse than the shower blocks - we brought our pots home to clean!Camping here is not the great experience you hope for ☹️ The grounds, seating area, shop and restaurant are all good. The food is great, whether it's breakfast, coffee and cake or Sunday lunch there is no disappointment, so well worth a visit for those 👍🍰☕

Fantastic first glamping pod experience

Farley, Lesley - 21/08/2025

We spent 2 nights in the pods which were equipped with everything we needed for our stay. They are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and nothing was any trouble for them. Breakfast in the restaurant was great. We did amazing walks, enjoyed a night being entertained by Last Anthem and generally just chilling with friends from another pod. Can’t recommend this place enough. Definitely will be back

Lovely open space. Friendly staff

Appleby, Diane - 12/08/2025

Toilet and shower area needs to be monitored more frequently. Milk in roundhouse had gone off. Luckily we had brought some. Pull out bed was really dirty. Cleaned it down before use. Area is beautiful. Sights are astonishing. A walk up to the chair is a must on every visit. Pub and cafe staff are very accomodating. Food is absolutely splendid.

Lovely, peaceful stay.

Steels, Jen - 10/08/2025

We stayed in the pods and they were great value for money. The pod itself wasn’t as clean as I’d hoped but overall it was fine. This applies to the toilets and showers also - male and female. They were a little run down and unclean. The male facilities only had one shower working. The male who works in the cafe/restaurant was particularly friendly and helpful and we were really grateful for him. The grounds themselves are lovely, whether you’re camping or staying in one of the pods or roundhouses and there are routes close by for lovely scenic walks and runs. We don’t live too far away and would consider coming back for a weekend.
