I arrived slightly late but I was given a stance. I had very few resources with me, despite a new campervan. Nevertheless I had a very comfortable and interesting stay, essentially based in the very amenable kitchen with all it's facilities, including condiments left by previous visitors (waste not, want not). The site attendants even gave me a can of soup to save going out to a late shop. Thanks guys! Early morning walk along the river was enjoyable and very accessible.

The layout of the fully serviced pitches makes it almost impossible to actually use the water drains on most of the pitches - I had 4 collapsible waste hoses joined together and this was still a good 5-6ft short of the drain, however I parked the van.Drains are shared between pitches so are always going to be on the wrong side of at least one of them.This was rather frustrating since we had paid extra for a serviced pitch. I have never had this experience on any other site with serviced pitches.At the very least, the site should advise what lengths of waste hose will be required when booking.

I can see from our availability that we did have the capacity to move you onto a fully serviced pitch that had a shorter distance to the drain. Clean and tidy friendly staff

Excellent campsite with outstanding facilities which are kept clean and warm in winter. Showers toilets and separate wash rooms are available. As well as a kitchen area with microwave and air fryer. We had an electric hook up hardstanding pitch. You do have to set up your awning on the gravel but if you have heavy duty tent pegs this isn’t a problem. I think the site was about 30 minutes from Edinburgh you are given plenty of information on arrival on how to get into the city via public transport. My first time in the city, wonderful place and camping here is a good affordable way to visit all year round. Many thanks, hope to stay again!

We only stayed for one night on our way home but couldn’t fault the friendly welcome. The facilities block looked brand new and was lovely and warm. 3 toilets, 4 showers and 2 privacy cubicles. Also a fabulous toilet/ shower for anyone with mobility problems.There appears to be a well stocked shop but I had no reason to visit it. Nowhere looks good in the dark with freezing pouring rain so I can’t comment on the surroundings. Only negative was the amount of holes in the road surface which were full of rainwater and a bit hard to see in the dark.
