Very clean and tidy site - nice camping spots along river. Immaculate wasrooms and toilets - a shame that there's a 50p charge for showers when it's £42 per night! Also could do with a bin in the washing up facility for scraping plates etc.A shame there's so many permanent caravans that were not being used, not much 'life' on site and mid school holidays.A great location and pleasant and quiet - lovely walks/cycle rides straight from site. Would recommend
Had I really nice second stay here weather was good that helps the site is clean and tidy plus good toilet and shower block our dog settled really well this time and nice the area is for adults only so. Very peaceful for us
I choose this site due to the location and the available fishing for my partner. Selected a pitch in the adults only section next to river, it was beautiful, huge pitch. Pitches seemed spaced out with a mix of electric or non electric. Toilets and showers were both very clean, with plenty of them, needed 50p for the use of the showers which wasn’t problem as they were lovely and hot, only downside was there was no shelf to pop my toiletries on whilst in the shower but otherwise very good. Walked from the site and along the river upto low force. Beautiful site and will definitely come back.
Thank you and we look forward to welcoming you back.
Clean site owners friendly and welcomingShop available with all that is needed especially on a hot day
Peaceful partic by the river...Very clean showers and loosTho due to lack of 50 p s we missedOut one day...Lovely walk along river to middleton and bestFish and chips ...Can recommend.
Thank you for your review and we hope to welcome you back.
Good location. Very clean site. Decent shower block. Friendly staff. Quiet. The only site we’ve found where there’s a coin meter for the showers. The sign says the cost is to help maintain the facilities and to conserve water but I’ll guarantee I used way more water and spent a lot longer in the shower than I usually do. Every other site we’ve stayed at manages to provide hot water with the site fee. Why not here?
Thank you for your review and we have taken your point on board regarding the charge for the showers.
A fantastic site with very clean facilities, owners are very nice and helpful, I stayed here whilst doing the Penine Way and had the most sleep at this site throughout my 14 nights on the trail, pitches are well kept, like a bowling green... The site is a little way off the Penine Way so i suggest getting your stuff from the CO-OP before walking to the campsite at the end of the village, all in all a fantastic night.
Thank You and we hope you will come back to see us at some point.
What a lovely long weekend we had at this campsite. It is very well maintained, spacious pitches, big enclosed dog field. What was really nice was the walk along the river which is next to the campsite, we walked into the village which took about 20 minutes and got meat from the local butchers for our barbecue, had coffee and bacon butty at the local cafe. The owner was friendly and always on hand if you needed anything at all, if you couldn’t see him you could just call him. There was a small reception and shop, if it was closed you could call him to come to the shop. The campsite had security gate which made it feel secure. The toilets and showers were very clean and well kept, they looked like they had recently been updated. There is 50p charge for the shower but the shower is good and the water is hot, my only criticism would be there is no where to put your soaps/shampoos, just a small ledge would be good and maybe a stool to put your clothes on.
Thank you for your review and we have taken your comments on board.
