Wildlife Paradise!

Francis, Sarah - 22/07/2024

We expected to see a bird or two when we booked this site, specifically because it was in the middle of nowhere next to a river, but the diversity of wildlife was astounding! We chose this site because it was remote, in a lovely scenic part of the country, they had an adult only section with hardstanding and EHU, and the facilities had just been given a facelift with good reviews. Wildlife spotted in just a couple of days were: resident family of Ducks, Swallows & House Martins, Barn owl hunting in the fields (3 together at one point!), Pheasants, Oystercatchers, Roe Deer, Hedgehogs, and much more. The site was great, the owners helpful and friendly, and the facilities modern and clean. Showers are 50p but I managed to wash hair & body with one coin. The local village is a short (approx 15-20 min) walk and has a good selection of shops and eateries. We had a meal at the Teesdale Hotel which was delicious.Leekworth is definitely on our list to come back to, highly recommended.

Beautiful Teesdale site

Twaites, Gail - 13/07/2024

5

Lovely spot to pitch up. The river ran by our pitch, great for spotting wildlife. The facilities were very good and we appreciated the adult only field. Just outside the village, which is really walkable and has great cafes. The local walks are brilliant, with high force a short drive away. The site has a well stocked shop for essentials and we thoroughly enjoyed our few days there.
