Laneside Caravan Park

4.7 (429 reviews)

A beautiful riverside Holiday Park for caravans, motorhomes and tents. A 5 minute walk from the picturesque village of Hope, right in the heart of Derbyshire’s Peak District. Laneside is a sheltered site with mature trees, hedges and shrubs. Post and rail fences along with hedges separate the main pitching areas which helps Laneside to blend into its beautiful countryside surroundings.

Since 1950, Laneside Caravan Park has been a family-owned and family-run park that prides itself on providing quality holidays for guests in the stunning surroundings of the Hope Valley, in the heart of The Peak District.

On site, there are 20 all weather fully-serviced pitches and 28 hard standing electric pitches for caravans and motorhomes along with 40 grass electric pitches for caravans, campervans or tents.

They are well spaced and clearly marked for ease of pitching. All the electric pitches have a 12 to 16 amp supply. We ask that all appliances used should be camping and not domestic to avoid tripping out the electric.

There is a separate adult-only hardstanding and grass electric field which is handy for those who want to fully get away from it all and relax (please specify when booking to be pitched on this field).

The toilet and shower facilities come highly recommended by customers who some have compared them to the large sites in Europe, well known for their superb cleanliness and attention to detail.

The site has large centrally heated shower blocks with free hot showers plus huge family/disabled showers. Bright modern ambience, spacious individual changing with hair dryers, large makeup mirrors and vanity tops.

In the ladies toilets there are more hair dryers along with pay plugs for hair straighteners or other electrical goods, situated in the vanity area. There are also individual vanity cubicles with sink and mirrors for more privacy. A disabled shower and loo washroom with radar key access is also on site. Should guests not have key for this, they are available in the office.

The Laundry & Information room has two stack washer and dryers, stacks of local information and a second hand charity book stall. Just across from our amenity block is a sheltered sink area with 8 sinks for washing your pots. We also have some lower sinks for the children or wheelchair use.

Other facilities and activities available on site include WiFi across the site (two packages available), a boules court, football field and two table tennis tables (bats & balls available from the office).

The park has a designated small dogs area (please note this is not secure and only used for dogs doing their business). A large dog walking area is also provided which overlooks the football field. The site provides free dog bags for the convenience of guests.

A well-stocked shop is available on site and allows guests and visitors to purchase snacks, drinks, camping essentials and necessary supplies.

Being located in the heart of The Peak District, guests at Laneside can visit the Treak Cliff Cavern, a beautiful network of cave formations with a history steeped in rare Blue John mineral mining. Open for self-guided tours as well as ‘hands on’ experiences that take place across the year, this unique day out gives you a glimpse into the marvellous views of Derbyshire, as well as the stunning geological world beneath.

Perfect Location

Ellis, Keith - 14/05/2025

On mountain bike trip. Location was perfect. All 4 rides straight from campsite. Site facilities brilliant ,everyone really helpful and friendly. Same can be said about Hope Village residents just a few minutes walk away. Loads of cafes, pubs and restaurants with loads of choice. I'm vegetarian and ate and didn't starve. Will definitely be back soon

Well-run site in the lovely English Peak District

Ford, Tina - 14/05/2025

The site is quite large but very well kept and run by the friendly staff. The facilities block is nice and warm and i never had to wait gor the shower despite the site being busy. I was there mid-week but believe they have some on-site catering at weekends. The site is a very short walk from the village of Hope where you can find a supermarket and nice pubs, along with other facilities. In just 40 minutes walk (or a 5 minute drive) you can be in Castleton which is a larger town. There are plenty of walks for all abilities starting from both Hope & Castleton, and you can hire ebikes at the site for advdntures on e wheels. The site is on a road and trains run nearby, but they weren't intrusive and the site was quiet at night. Recommended for solis, couples & families. It is a dog friendly site and they have a special dog walking area.

Top notch site

Doherty, Patrick - 13/05/2025

Such a good location for Hope village and an excellent base to walk the hills especially with Win hill just across the road. Less than an hour to the trig point at the top and 30 minutes to do the circular route under the railway line and then on to Hope village.

Husband wife and dog.

Stevens, Lee - 12/05/2025

We chose a bank holiday Monday week to book our 3 night duration so the cost was higher than normal but the location , site facilities and scenery were certainly worth the additional costs. Our welcome on arrival was 1st class and very Informative and we were given a choice of 2 pitches. Site was immaculate and both new and old toilet facilities were spotless and continually kept that way. The enclosed pet field just outside the exit barrier was excellent for our energetic dog. There are many walks to be had and the Hope village and Pub is really on your doorstop. Thoroughly enjoyable experience strongly recommended we will defiantly return .

First stay at this campsite and will definitely go back. Ace location to walk near Ladybower reservoir and have views of it and stunning scenery beyond it. Win Hill awesome and Bamford Edge the following day. Train station so close by and lovely restaurants in Hope a short walk away. Great facilities with clean toilets and showers- already planning our next stay at this campsite.

Perfect, but.....

Jones, Bob - 06/05/2025

We were located J8, next to the water works which occasionally smelt of sewage. Also dog walkers did not respect our privacy by accessing our pitch to access the gap in fence. Staff were very good and understanding when told of these issues but I would definitely not want to be on this pitch again. This is the 4th time we've used your site, we think the best location was the adults only grassed area. If this can be made fully serviced this would be ideal for us.
