For over 90 years Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.
Two super king-size double bedrooms and one single bedroom.
A delightful stone-built mid-terrace cottage, situated near the beautiful river on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Stainforth, 3 miles from Settle, and just 5-10 minutes walk from the site itself.
This is a charming Stainforth cottage, fully refurbished and styled to provide a good quality holiday home in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
This Stainforth cottage features a sitting room with warm and cosy wood burning stove, a well-equipped adjoining kitchen, three delightful bedrooms, two with flexible accommodation, a pretty enclosed front garden and a patio area to the rear of the cottage.
Various walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep of this Stainforth cottage, on the Pennine Way and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, while the more energetic visitor can 'clock in' at Horton-in-Ribblesdale's Pen-y-Ghent cafe and take on the challenge of the Three Peaks walk!
For those less inclined towards the great outdoors, there are many sightseeing activities in the area around this cottage in Stainforth - visit the Hoffman Kiln at Langcliffe, the Falconry Centre and the market towns of Settle and Skipton. And what better way to end the day than the short walk to the heart of the village - the local pub? A great Stainforth cottage and location whatever the time of year.

We were given all the information required on site on arrival. Everywhere on site was well maintained and clean. As we came over new year and it was dark early we found going to the toilet block very dark no lights along the way an observation. There is everything you need we enjoyed our stay and will return in the spring.
Beautiful place - lovely, well-kept site, good facilities and friendly staff.
Stayed from 29 Dec to 2rd Jan 2023 I'd not been to Stainforth since my youth some 55 plus years ago, though it rained we walked every day.A great place to find very polite and helpful folk, nice pubs, good food an excellent place to spend time.I will be back in the spring or summer for some more.
For me, this site has everything, good location, great views from the site, the excellent restaurant and bar on the site is a bonus, good toilet facilities and it’s not a site run by staff with attitude like some other well known club sites.
Great places for tourers to pitch up. Only a couple of issues we had on our stay, one being lack of bins in touring area. The only area is by the barrier on entering site. This is a bit of a palarva to carry rubbish up there when you are on pitches. Another issue was when we stayed the weather was icy and anowy and the road through the site wasnt gritted. We had to all go and get grit to help everyone out with their vans and motorhomes. Weve stayed here a couple of times and probably will be back, but just a couple of points to check. Staff very friendly and welcoming in pub.
This was our 5th stay in the last 10 months. It is a fantastic site with everything you need, including an excellent bar and restaurant. The site is looked after extremely well, and all the facilities such as the showers, toilets etc. are spotless, and extremely well maintained. All the staff are very helpful, and nothing is to much trouble for them. There is magnificent walking in the Dales from the site, which can be as long or short as you want, and the market town of Settle is only a short distance away, and you could easily walk to it.So it really is a great site, and the site and staff deserve full recognition for a job well done!! Thank you, we will be back shortly!!!Neil Firm
Great staff, good food, dog friendly & large pitches with electric and water. Lots of lovely walks nearby, about an hours walk to Settle on road - a bit longer canalside
Friendly staff, very welcoming and accommodating. Facilities spotless. Pitch not level, but we had the pick of the place so doubtless other pitches may have been more level. Used chocks anyway so not an issue. Great quiet location. Really nice pizzas from the cafe.
I’ve been on campsites all over Europe ( and many of them 5 star) , Knights camping site really is a little gem, Excellent restaurant and bar facility, great local pub ( only a short walk ) great on site facilities including all the stuff you need showers , Elsan, pots dishes washing , toilets, washing machines, etc etc. kids play area , great local walks , cycling, 3 mile walk by the river and waterfall to settle ,, all in all a great camping facility ,,, Nige 7.5 mtrs motorhome
We stayed at Knight Stainforth Hall caravan site for a couple of nights in November and we both agreed it was the best site we had visited in the first year of owning a caravan. The site was recommended to us, and we weren't disappointed. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway. The scenery and walks from the site are fantastic. The facilities are immaculate. We had a meal in the restaurant. The staff were so friendly, and the food was amazing. We had the 12oz steak on the specials menu and there was so much food.... but we managed to fit in a lovely homemade ginger sponge :-)Thank you for a great holiday. We will definitely be returning in 2023.
