For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

Our 2 weeks was a relaxing time, an excellent point of stay for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. However the middle weekend was very busy and having just 3 showers each, you can imagine it was busy in the mornings. The road leading to the site, Stackhouse Lane, is quite narrow and having a 8ft wide caravan, was worrying if you met someone coming the other way. I would recommend they put a small waste bin in the laundry room, so people can empty the fluff from the tumble dryers and perhaps a chair to sit while waiting for the washer/dryers to finish. The food at the Knights Table was excellent (highly recommend the "Sheeps & Pigs")Would certainly come again.
What a wonderful place to stay with family and friends clean well kept everything you need on site, toilet showers cleaned throughout the day, shop and a pub with fantastic food and views to die for. And most importantly friendly staff who are helpful with anything you ask 5 Stars 🌟 for the Smart xx
My 5th visit to this wonderful campsite. Not for children & families whom want a campsite with bells and whistles. This is a rural campsite whom Has held the traditions of family camping along with excellent facilities. The scenic location is truly outstanding, great showers, toilets, pot washing facilities, dryers, and a super puB/restaurant on site. The atmosphere is a very friendly one, everyone says hello, and dog friendly. The staff are so helpful, and nothing is too much trouble for them.kids have plenty of room to retire themselves out, and a little playground to keep them busy,Can’t wait to return to my Yorkshire heaven..
Well returned after 30 years changed a Lot but to be expected did not like some of the changes but still had a great stay at the campsite toilets and washing areas were great and clean
we loved our stay at Kinght Stainforth very relaxing , great amenities , immaculate clean bathrooms. Only draw back was the showers very poor water pressure.
Lovely spot with a great pub and restaurant
We stayed for a weekend camping with our two children. The campsite is in a great location, and from the tent pitches the playground was close by so could relax and still keep an eye on them. There are some great walks near by, food and the Knights Table is lovely and the shop is well stocked with essentials. The facilities were clean and comfortable - toilet and shower block were well maintained and there was a spacious area for washing up. Didn’t use the laundry while we were there but on a rainier muddier weekend or a longer trip this would have been pretty helpful.Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet camping trip with family & friends
Friends highly recommended this place so my son and myself, first time campers, decided to join our friends here. Beautiful place and surroundings. Very clean facilities, we felt very safe throughout our stay and great value for money.
Excellent facility. The staff were really friendly. The pub had a great vibe to It. The boys loved the pool table and Darts. We loved the quiz too
What a fantastic campsite! Views are incredible, facilities are great, on site shop is really handy too. Also having a lovely pub right there is a great addition. If the weather is hot like it was for us there is a brilliant little swimming spot down at the river. We will definitely be going back next year!
