For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

Myself and friend originally booked for 1 night we were so happy with the site that we extended our stay. The site was very well laid out with helpful and friendly staff.Pub with great food on site which was an added bonus. If I was to complain about anything it would just be that the showers are push button which can become irritating but isn't a huge issue
Really friendly staff, lovely clea fac8
I am 75 and I asked be to near the toilets We were far away The pitch sloped and even with chokes it was very bad They parked us under trees and I know you cannot predict the weather when it stopped the dipping persisted from the overhead trees There was only one washing up area and didn’t make it too the shower blockWe said we had 2 dogs and the walking exercise area was on the other side of the pickThe road up to the camp was narrow and winding Awful time came home after 1 night waste of moneyThis is not an accurate photo of our pitch
Once again we have enjoyed everything Knight Stainforth has to offer for our annual camp with extended family and friends. We love the location and surrounding countryside. The staff couldn't have been more helpful throughout. The combination of amenities and local places of interest is unbeatable!
Amazing experience, very welcoming staff, great restaurant on site and good value for money! Would definitely recommend.
Little improvements every year -toilets and showers, flowers and paths Lovely reception and personal service.Great cycling and walking.I especially enjoyed the old photos from the 1960s
Excellent camping site . Showers and toilets spotless.Pub served excellent food , very welcoming staff. Lovely setting by the river . Would highly recommend.
A fantastic site in a stunning location, the river Ribble runs along the boundary and adds to the charm. The club house serves lovely food and the bar is well stocked. All in all this is a five star camp site.
We stayed for 3 nights with family, we were doing the 26 mile MacMillan hike from Malham and wanted somewhere close to camp. We stayed in our Tentbox, the pitch was private and spacious. The site was very well equipped and beautifully kept. The dog walking area was big and was great to let the dogs off the lead . The river at the bottom of the site was really lovely - my husband fished but there were people swimming and it was really peaceful and made for a nice walk from the site. We ate at the Knight's Table which was excellent I can recommend the steak pie! We will return
It’s over 30 years since we were last here so obviously it has changed considerably 😀No change with the single track access which is still as daunting but didn’t encounter any problems.Reception lady was very friendly and welcoming and the site is a good design with ample sized pitches. Toilet facilities were good with a laundry and shower rooms. It has a great play area for the kids if we return with our grandchildren, they would love it. It has a good sized dog walking area too.All areas were kept tidy and clean and prices are reasonable. We didn’t eat out anywhere but walked up into Stainforth village and had drinks in the Craven Heiffer which is a cosy pub.We went into Settle and on the second visit got a parking disc from the bookshop for 2 hours stay in the market place. First visit the parking was quite expensive as we weren’t aware of the discs. We visited Clapham and did the Inglenorough trail and a coffee and cake in the Wheelhouse cafe.Overall, a great stay.
