For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

Loved every minute of our stay. Facilities are excellent and spotlessly clean - can even do your ironing! The onsite bar and restaurant serves excellent food. Some lovely walks from the site but be prepared for some steep hills. We will definitely return.
We absolutely love this site and it has become one of our regular places to go; this time it was slightly more special as it was our 5month old daughters first trip here. The facilities were spotless and the staff are always so friendly and helpful too. I would highly recommend a visit here; there's so many lovely places to visit nearby- Settle Village, Kirkby Lonsdale, Ingleton, Ribbleshead viaductWe are already planning our return visit and next places to try out Hawes and White Scar Caves
Clean and tidy site, great staff, fab walks and swims along with a riverside sauna, and a pub with fantastic food. There is nothing missing from this place it's perfect!
Excellent camp site Warm welcome when we arrived. Wash block spotlessly clean. Pitch was perfect expertly mowed and easy to find. Easy walk to and along the spectacular Ribble River. Top Top campsite!
Had a fantastic short break. Made to feel welcome. Amenities clean and looked after. Added bonus bar and restaurant. Best part the views and walks. Will definitely be returning
It's such a nice relaxed friendly place to stay. Loads to do in and about the site. Facilities on site are always clean and working.Onside bar/restaurant excellent quality and reasonable prices. If anything 10% off your food order in restaurant if staying on site especially mid-week?We will be back very soon
Beautiful campsite, well kept, could do with another shower block as only 3 showers for ladies on whole site. Lovely hosts made to feel very welcome and the pub/restaurant was amazing food. Lovely to play family darts and pool and also walk to the river to have a dip and paddle. Lovely campsite, nice hedges around tent sections to make it wind tight and also private.
Everything is excellent about this site, location, facilities, staff. Would certainly recommend and have already booked in again. Been in a tent previously and this was first time in a tourer.Worth noting we could not get into the restaurant either night we were there, so will remember for future reference to book well in advance of our visit.Only other issue is the WiFi which is very poor as is the phone signal. Some will see this as a bit of a bonus and it does not detract from what a great place this is, just remember to research any visits or walks to do before you arrive as you will be unlikely to achieve much once you're on site.
This is a nice clean site in a beautiful location next to the river Ribble. The highlights are the restaurant/bar which is excellent with good food, reasonably priced and great staff. We had an electric tent pitch which was flat and fine. The little shop in reception was reasonably well stocked with essentials. The toilet/shower block was clean and tidy but only had three showers which could be a problem when the site is full. The town of settle is a lovely 2mile walk away down by the river. The town has most amenities including a train station and some nice independent shops and is well worth a visit.
Such a lovely campsite, facilities were so clean and well maintained, pitches were huge! Tap located at every hook up so really convenient. Hot water in the washing up station and hot water in the showers. On arrival we were greeted by a very nice man who was kind and helpful. Went out of his way to sort us some eggs and saw him helping someone else with a hook up extension. Stunning scenery and close to lots of walks and good places to visit like malham cove and gordale scar. We also tried out the on-site restaurant which was very lovely too and dog friendly. The kids loved paddling in the beck at the other end of the campsite, so I’ll take swim gear for them when we return. Would definitely recommend this to everyone! My absolute favourite site so far!!!
