For nearly 100 years, Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.

The site is in a beautiful location. The staff are very friendly and's helpful. We were in a motorhome. Plot was ideal with EHU and tap. Waste drop easily accessible. Facilities were very clean. Only downside was the shower rooms weren’t very warm and the showers only luke warm with not much power to the water flow. Was a little strange as the taps in the toilets and wash up were very hot. Had a meal in Knights Table which was excellent. The river walk from the site into Settle was very nice but a little muddy at this time of year. Was great to see the salmon leap. Will definitely be back next year.
I paid for my booking in full for 3 nights. The week before my son was involved in a serious car accident, therefore I rang 3 days before to try and change the booking days to a few months in the future. I was informed that they don’t do refunds (that’s not what I asked for). I was then told someone would call me back, I rang back after no one called and was again told someone would call me back as they had to speak to the boss.I’ve still not had a callback. I just wanted to try and change dates but don’t feel I have been dealt with fairly. A lack of communication, compassion and professionalism has led me to leave a negative feedback.
We always have the most wonderful time when we stay at Knight Stainforth Hall Caravan & Camping park. The pitches are lovely & wide with water & electricity points close at hand. The toilets & showers building are warm, clean & spacious. There is also washing machines; iron & pot washing facilities within the building. The food at the restaurant is always hot, delicious & plentiful with a good price tag attached to it - meals are certainly value for money. The menu is varied to suit all tastes. All the staff who work on the site and in the restaurant are helpful & friendly at all times. The site is close to the river, which offers long walks along it or to venture down to bathe/swim or just to sit by the river (we take breakfast to eat on the stones whilst the water is bubbling by). The site is a credit to the owners who cannot do enough to keep the site clean, tidy and well maintained. They also are the most friendly and helpful people that we have had the pleasure to meet.
Loved this site, beautiful views and helpful staff. The onsite restaurant was amazing. We were in a fifth wheel and the pitches were large and we were welcomed.
Well what can I say, great site, food and had the bonus of seeing salmon jumping up the falls. Will be there the same time next year.
Great location, staff very friendly & helpful, excellent facilities & amenities all very clean. Kids play area ok but only suitable for young children up to about aged 6. Dog walk & woods a lovely added extra. The local area as plenty to offer for the whole family.
As previous reviews, we cannot fault Knight Hall park. It really does have everything that you need, and is situated in the middle of some great walking areas. The site itself is really well maintained and looked after, and all the staff are really helpful and friendly. It really is a gem in North Yorkshire!!!......but don't tell everybody as they will all want to come!!!
Fantastic location for exploring Yorkshire. Site is lovely & quiet with clean facilities.
We stayed here for one night during the three peaks cyclocross event. The campground and facilities were all immaculately kept and we were made to feel very welcome.
We have camped here for many years. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, they do all they can to make your stay as good as possible. The amenities are always exceptional clean, the shower block has recently had an upgrade, only negative is the showers themselves could do with replacing, they take a long time to get warm and are very close to the wallls. If you have long hair it takes a while to wash the shampoo out.The on-site pub/resultant is perfect with beautiful views across the hills. The food it lovely too. Well behaved dogs are also very welcome. There is also a covered outdoor area with heaters or you can sit outside on a nice day.We don’t have a problem with the accessibility as we only have our car. However the road to the campsite is very narrow in places, there are placing places along the road and it is a quiet road. The pitches are very generous in size we paid just over £200 for a week camping with electric and 2 dogs, which I don’t feel is overly expensive.
