For over 90 years Little Stainforth has hosted both local and national campers. It is also one of the oldest sites still run by the same family, the Maudsley’s. We are sure you will enjoy your stay at Little Stainforth, and we will do everything we can to ensure that your stay is a pleasant and memorable one. Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the park stands on the 45-acre estate of Knight Stainforth Hall, just 2 miles north of the market town of Settle and nestled on the banks of the River Ribble, a manor house dating back to pre-Norman times, which belonged to the Knight Templar.
The Touring Park is open from 1st Mar – 31st Oct and offers 100 touring pitches for Caravans, Motorhomes and Tents. 75 of these are serviced with electrical hook-up points.
The children’s playground and ball games area always go down well with the little ones. Shop with off-license selling basic supplies, camping accessories and gas refills. Games and TV room and an Information room containing brochures and literature on attractions and events in the locality. Some information is available on places of interest further afield, but within easy access of the Park. Fishing is available on site.
The park is not only ideally situated for exploring the dales but is also within easy traveling distance of the Lakes and Herriot Country. The area around Little Stainforth offers many attractions including: Malhamdale including the Cove and Gordale Scar, Settle to Carlisle Railway, The 3 Peaks, Ingleton Water Fall Walk, White Scar and Inglebourgh Show Cave, The Pennine Way, The Lake District, Outdoor Pursuits inc. Horse riding, Walking, Cycling and Climbing.
Two super king-size double bedrooms and one single bedroom.
A delightful stone-built mid-terrace cottage, situated near the beautiful river on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Stainforth, 3 miles from Settle, and just 5-10 minutes walk from the site itself.
This is a charming Stainforth cottage, fully refurbished and styled to provide a good quality holiday home in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.
This Stainforth cottage features a sitting room with warm and cosy wood burning stove, a well-equipped adjoining kitchen, three delightful bedrooms, two with flexible accommodation, a pretty enclosed front garden and a patio area to the rear of the cottage.
Various walks can be enjoyed from the doorstep of this Stainforth cottage, on the Pennine Way and in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, while the more energetic visitor can 'clock in' at Horton-in-Ribblesdale's Pen-y-Ghent cafe and take on the challenge of the Three Peaks walk!
For those less inclined towards the great outdoors, there are many sightseeing activities in the area around this cottage in Stainforth - visit the Hoffman Kiln at Langcliffe, the Falconry Centre and the market towns of Settle and Skipton. And what better way to end the day than the short walk to the heart of the village - the local pub? A great Stainforth cottage and location whatever the time of year.

Very friendly, pretty, Not too busy campground in a nice countryside, facilities tidy and Well equipoed. We enjoyed our stay very much!
The site itself is compact and well organised. quiet at night, great location for the surrounding area. The wash rooms are clean and well maintained. Mains water so no filling which was great. The road in is single track though, so god forbid you meet another caravan. The pub is lovely with very friendly staff though we were slightly disappointed with some of the food. On the whole a great holiday
Arrived on site and was met in reception by a very friendly member of staff who signed us in. After finding our huge pitch from the map and setting up, we explored.Lovely spacious park for the children to play on and a nice clean and bright shower block which had a laundry room. £2 for a wash, 50p dry!!It is few minutes walk to the river and Stainforth Force and 10-15 minutes drive to Settle for Tuesday market and shopping in Booths. We had a meal at the on site restaurant, The Knights Table, absolutely delicious, but not cheap! They also do takeaway. (Closed Tuesdays)
Lovely clean site/facilities. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant/cafe had everything you would want, and again staff very friendly. My only one concern was during the weekend there were several families playing ball games far too close to my tent. One football ended up in my tent, and a plastic cricket ball hit my car. These particular familes seemed intent on encroaching nearer and nearer to my tent as their games progressed, regardless of plenty space elsewhere. When I spoke to them about it, they said I was being unreasonable despite pointing out to them that there were mentions of not playing ball games close to tents/cars in your site guidelines. Although this wouldn't put me off coming back, it might be an idea to do a once round the site during busy times to make sure no further lone travellers are put in this position. In hindsight, I should have approached the site office at the time to highlight this to you.
What a brilliant site!! We camped next to friends, the pitches are huge!!! Nice clean facilities, restaurant and bar are lovely, the bad apple cider is yummy and lethal haha, can't wait to book again
The campsite is small friendly site, with good facilities and helpful staff. To be honest I want to keep this site a secret. We have stayed here over many years and have loved every visit. The location is ideal for walking and is only a short distance from settle. This year was the busiest I have seen it. There is an increase in hard standing places. The Knights Table - has a pleasant restaurant offering takeaway and an upstairs gamesroom.
Lovely campsite nestled just up the valley from Settle. Very friendly helpful staff. Good facilities, well kept site. Delicious meal at The Knights Table. Will definitely stay again. Have already recommended to others
Lovely location with access to Great walks and cycling. Site clean and tidy with good amenities
Thank you for giving us the discounted rate as backpackers despite us not knowing we were entitled to it!
We stayed for two nights and couldn't fault the site at all. It's in a beautiful area and is easy to reach from Settle. The staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are clean and well equipped and our grandchildren enjoyed the playground. Most of the pitches have electric hook up and water tap and there is plenty of space between each pitch. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going there again.
