If it's the idea of waking up to a beautiful coastal view of the North Atlantic Ocean, with Co. Donegal visible on the horizon, then Juniper Hill Holiday Park is the place to stay.

Just across the road from the coastal walks, rock pools, par 3 golf course and pitch and putt, Juniper Hill Holiday Park is located just between Carrick Dhu Holiday Park and the seaside harbour town of Portstewart.

It is well connected by the local bus routes and cycle path making it the perfect base for the many popular north coast restaurants, world class golf courses, ice cream parlours, coffee shops and other local attractions.

Juniper Hill Holiday Park is the ideal place to stay during the weekend of the Annual North West 200 motorcycle race, as you will not even have to leave the park to enjoy the atmosphere of the race, as all the action takes place right in front of the park.

Normally we would pitch our caravan as you go through the barriers just to the right but the only pitch available was 77 this was at the very top of the site, the view was awesome, we pitched our caravan and put up the awning it rained that Saturday and into Sunday then there was gale force winds which in the end destroyed our awning, I know you cannot predict the weather but if hedges were planted to protect carvaners from extreme weather this could help avoid damage in the future, just a thought

Good base

Facilities are very clean and only 20p to use the showers. Location works well for exploring the north coast. Our pitch was next to the main road which was noisy. We stayed before further up the hill and it was much quieter. Our pitch was also sloping and hard to get level with just levelling blocks on the camper. Next time I would request a different pitch for both reasons. Overall though it is a well run campsite and felt very secure.

Old fashioned cramped campsite

Emerson, William - 03/08/2022

This was our first visit ever to Juniper Hill - we have passed it many times and often thought it looked like a good site to stay on for a visit to the North Coast. First the good points - Superb Warden who was very helpful and friendly, he is definitely an assest to the site. Lovely views from our pitch across to Portrush and the harbour, we could even see Scotland on the first day.The site is immaculately kept and very quiet and peaceful during our stay. The not so good points - The narrow road which winds up through the static caravan part of the site to the touring area is very tight and not fit for purpose especially as modern touring caravans are much longer and many are now 8 feet wide and almost all are fitted with ATC stability system. The offset "speed bumps" along this road will trigger your ATC and jam the caravans brakes bringing you to a total stop. The pitches are too close together and the place feels cramped. A 1960s style campsite that needs modernised
