Good site and a great location. Approximately 2 miles to both North and South beaches and facilities. Has a good size toilet/shower block which are cleaned regularly. Has recently had a new play area installed for the over 5's and has a small play area near the clubhouse for the under 5's. The site also has a club house which also provides food some evenings. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The site is only a few minutes drive into Scarborough Town and within walking distance of a farm shop and restaurant. There is also another farm shop, restaurant and small animal farm approximately 5 minutes drive away. We have stayed at Jacobs Mount several times before and have now rebooked to stay here again for the 2023 season
We enjoyed the site, the pitch was nice and level, showers were nice and hot, was a great base to see the area.
We enjoyed our stay here at Jacob's Mount. The site on a whole is clean and tidy and ideally located to explore the east yorkshire coast. The site is only a couple of miles away from Scarborough. Our first 6 nights were extremely quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately our 7th and last night was not so peaceful. On site there is a clubhouse and we were pitched in close proximity. On the Friday night there was a DJ on which was extremely loud and carried on until 1am! We could clearly hear the music and bass thumping away which was not ideal with a 6 year old and trying to get some sleep in preparation for an early getaway and 200 mile tow. I do not know whether this is a regular Friday evening event?Apart from this we really enjoyed our stay.
We arrive at 5:10pm to be told we couldn't book In till 7 when the bar opened. There was no mention if this on the website or in the booking info we were sent. We had two small children we needed to feed after a long journey. Both our holiday of to a stressful start. The showers that you have to pay for where tepid. And the shop didn't even have any milk. Will be trying a different site when we come back to Scarborough.
When making a booking with a camp site I fully understand that some only take cash and others do online booking. This campsite I booked and paid for 1 night online at a cost of £16. When i got there to be asked for £20 cash was baffling. Me and my family had to then go find cash to hand in. After one night's stay i used 3p of electricity so a total waste of time. If you take online booking and payment then find another way to have a deposit. Cash really is not a thing any more. Also you camping pods are garden sheds and not glamping
Park was really well kept. Lovely small play park for the smaller children. If you want a quiet break where you don't see a sole then this is the park for you.. there is not even any staff presence unless your checking in or out. Says there is a shop but its a shelf with dry goods on. There is a pub on site but only open two nights a week. Children are not welcome really, there are signs everywhere, stating rules of the park, no ball games so my elderst child who was to big for the park couldn't play football. Was very close to scarborough which was lucky as you couldn't get any food on site until 7pm only two nights a week
We love this site and have returned several times. It is always well kept, clean and tidy, and very fairly priced too, particularly as you only pay for the electricity you actually use - you pay a deposit for a meter card but are refunded for what you don't use off it. Each pitch has its own electric meter, water tap and drainage. The site is convenient for Scarborough, where we have relatives. However, I did encounter a problem this time - I had a bad back and found the showers a problem. There is one low shelf to put stuff on but too low to sit on to get dressed if you have a bad back - I would not have been able to get up again, particularly as there are no hand rails of any sort anywhere in the cubicle. There are also not enough hooks for all your clothes and towels, and no soap dish or shelf for your shampoo and soap - you have to use the window ledge which is quite high above, or put them on the floor, neither if which are good with a bad back. Otherwise a great site.
The park is a couple of miles from Scarborough and you have to cross a very busy road with very fast moving cars. Unfortunately its not on a bus routeThere is a playground and a clubhouse, its a great price per night. The showers were quite clean its 3 showers for £1 and you pay seperate for electric.Very informative and quick check in.
