Very acceptable site generally, location good, but be prepared for cramped pitches compared to 'Club sites' or CLs. The bar was open only weekends off season- fair enough Clearly a well thought of site, judging from the number of seasonal places taken, which unfortunately if like us, you're there at a quieter time, makes it feel as a cross between a ghost town and a caravan storage site! Suggest that the site has one bay/row of 'visiting pitches?
menu not as good as last time we went, food not as good either.
The site is always clean and tidy, the staff are quick to respond to anything you ask and were very helpful when my car broke down on site, the pub on site is very good and has two pool tables for adults and one for the kids with other video machines etc, bingo and other activities are also done when the pub is open. food is very good and very reasonably priced so you can have a nice evening with food and drink and not have to sort out transport to go to town ?
We booked here with our friends a while back and was really excited to get away however on arrival the young man who checked us in was very rude and abrupt. We then realised you had to pay for electric which in 10 years of touring we have never had to do. We paid for a fully serviced pitch which for the price you don't then expect to spend another £30 on electeic when our friends only spent £10 we then went to question this and asked if there was a reason as we all used pretty much the same electric and took it in turns to cook to which the answer was they didn't know. The park was full of bigger children who went on to bully my 8 year old son and decided to wet him through with a bottle of water so they went and looked after their siblings on the little park and then got told off. The park itself was lovely and some lovely walks and Scarborough near by just the little things that added up over the weekend that made us decide we won't return.
In response to the usage of electric,You had £10 credit on the electric card on arrival and you received £2.97 unused credit on departure. So a total of £7.03 usage on electric for the four days stay. You paid on arrival a refundable deposit also for the two cards which you also received when you left.Your older children were not told off at the junior park but politely asked not to play on the equipment as they were to big for the equipment. Unfortunately we are unable to police older children playing on the large park to prevent childish pranks but again children should be supervised on the play park as signage advises. We are sorry that you feel upset by the minor instances.
The site is very clean and quiet , we would of liked the pub and other facilities to have been open when we visited as it’s a long walk to the nearest pub and a very steep hill on the way back.
The site is neat and tidy and staff friendly and helpful, it has very easy access, we had the grand children with us but unfortunately the new play park was still under construction and cordoned off, the site has a lot of seasonal pitches so it was not as busy as I expected, very central for day trips to local areas
This was our first time at this site, booking was easy, every pitch was a serviced pitch. The site was clean and tidy and the shower/toilet block was as good as I’ve seen.It looked like there were quite a few pitches taken by seasonal caravans but still plenty available The electric was on a meter but not overpriced and even with that included it was still good value. The staff were helpful, only problem we had was that the barrier which was locked at 11pm had a glitch and locked us out before that time, but once again the staff were very helpful.
Terraced site with a very friendly welcome. Western side of Scarborough with easy access to all the surrounding areas. 10 amp electric and pay as you go showers. Clean and tidy, we've already booked this site later in the year.
We had motorhome so didn't want to use it to go out so found it hard to get to and from Scarborough, but other then that enjoyed our stay..
