Hidden Valley is a serene haven of relaxation. Set in a beautiful valley with sites overlooking the tranquil waters of the Avonmore River and a glassy, private lake, The park offers guests the opportunity to experience a holiday amid an abundance of wildlife including kingfishers, cranes, wild geese, ducks, otters and pheasant.

Hidden Valley Holiday Park attracts couples and families seeking a peaceful, family-fun holiday in picturesque surroundings. The park offers both hard-standing and grass sites, each with electric, water and grey waste. The park also has a fantastic choice of boutique glamping lodges for those looking for an outdoor getaway with all the views of camping but with all the comforts of home.

The Park was formed in 2005 and is owned and operated by The Williams family. In the first three years of operation, the owners upgraded the holiday park from a 2-star park into a 4-star Failte Ireland approved park offering modern facilities and great value for couples and families alike. As a family owned and operated business we take great pride in assuring our guests a fantastic and memorable holiday.

The park is located in Rathdrum (“Ringfort of the Ridge”), which was originally the main town of Co. Wicklow, and is still well serviced by both train and bus. The town is situated high on the western side of the beautiful Avonmore Valley and offers the tourist scenic views of the Avonmore River, which flows through the Vale of Clara. The Rathdrum railway station opened on July 18th, 1863.

Rathdrum is well known for the Avondale House and Forest Park, which was home to Charles Stewart Parnell – one of the greatest political leaders of modern Irish History. The grounds offer excellent forest/river walks and picnics.

Rathdrum was also well known for the Rathdrum International Cartoon Festival. The Cartoon Inn displays the work of Bill Eirner, Hunt Emereson, Ulrich Schroeder, Bob Foster, which are among some of the famous artists whose work can be seen at close quarter. The Cartoon Inn is famed far and wide for the rich and humour cartoons which adorn its welcoming walls.

Family fun

Chalets were excellent Brilliant sizeWell equipped Very clean Soft play and climbing wall addition is very welcome Few things I’ll love if changed: Check in was earlier as 4 is very late More than one roll of toilet roll provided or else add to bring list as toiletries doesn’t usually imply toilet roll and rather shampoo etc Also notify where to dump garbage as we searched for a while We visit hidden valley every single year and last year there was an incident where the water ball deflated while my son was inside……. He got a major fright so wouldn’t do again …… I did register my gentle complaint then. This time unfortunately the very same thing happened to my grandchild of 6 years The young girl was barely capable of zipping up the balls and was very very slow …… let alone do anything to save a child in danger I really think there should be adult supervision as most of the staff are very young students

I booked a boutique lodge for two days I also booked splash world and down hill tubing. The girl who booked told me both activities were for the following day which was a mistake as it was for that day at 6.30 no refund or wouldn’t change the times my 5 yr old daughter wouldn’t get in the cold water wouldn’t exchange wrist bands or offer alternative activitie. Never go back again I’m also still waiting on my €100 deposit back

Happy Glamping

Molloy, Des - 23/07/2024

4

Great location. Good facilities. The cabin was perfect for a family glamping trip with fridge, kettle, toaster and toilet.Kids, under 12 loved it and loads to do for that age group, aqua splash, downhill tubing and laser tag. Food at lake house was quite good and varied menu. One improvement would to have wifi as most activities need to be booked online and signal is very poor. Overall value was very good. Would recommend for short camping/ glamping trips

Good and Bad

Nolan, Claire - 23/07/2024

The Holiday park is fab and the kids were so excited to see all the activities when we arrived. The campsite was perfect and everything was seamless to set up and find. The activities however, we started off in the Treehouse playcentre, fab facility however one young teenager trying to book in a long line of people was ridiculous and ate into the kids playtime, Very complicated and unnecessary frustration for a simple play centre. We did kayaks, peddle boats and bumper boats with no fuss or queues and had a fantastic time. We had booked into the cinema, movie advertised to start at 7pm, arrived with our goodies only to find the movie actually started at 6pm (7pm was advertised at reception when we bought the tickets) kids were really disappointed and we had nothing to do for the evening as it was raining. Games room nothing worked, swallowed money. Queued 1h 20m for water balls and kids never got a turn, again one teenager trying to organise the activity and completely incapable.
