Hidden Valley is a serene haven of relaxation. Set in a beautiful valley with sites overlooking the tranquil waters of the Avonmore River and a glassy, private lake, The park offers guests the opportunity to experience a holiday amid an abundance of wildlife including kingfishers, cranes, wild geese, ducks, otters and pheasant.
Hidden Valley Holiday Park attracts couples and families seeking a peaceful, family-fun holiday in picturesque surroundings. The park offers both hard-standing and grass sites, each with electric, water and grey waste. The park also has a fantastic choice of boutique glamping lodges for those looking for an outdoor getaway with all the views of camping but with all the comforts of home.
The Park was formed in 2005 and is owned and operated by The Williams family. In the first three years of operation, the owners upgraded the holiday park from a 2-star park into a 4-star Failte Ireland approved park offering modern facilities and great value for couples and families alike. As a family owned and operated business we take great pride in assuring our guests a fantastic and memorable holiday.
The park is located in Rathdrum (“Ringfort of the Ridge”), which was originally the main town of Co. Wicklow, and is still well serviced by both train and bus. The town is situated high on the western side of the beautiful Avonmore Valley and offers the tourist scenic views of the Avonmore River, which flows through the Vale of Clara. The Rathdrum railway station opened on July 18th, 1863.
Rathdrum is well known for the Avondale House and Forest Park, which was home to Charles Stewart Parnell – one of the greatest political leaders of modern Irish History. The grounds offer excellent forest/river walks and picnics.
Rathdrum was also well known for the Rathdrum International Cartoon Festival. The Cartoon Inn displays the work of Bill Eirner, Hunt Emereson, Ulrich Schroeder, Bob Foster, which are among some of the famous artists whose work can be seen at close quarter. The Cartoon Inn is famed far and wide for the rich and humour cartoons which adorn its welcoming walls.

From checking in it was all so quick and easy. Staff were nice and helpful. Everywhere was nice and clean. Food was very tasty, shower rooms and toilets were always clean. Loads of activities to keep children entertained. Would definitely love to go back next year.
Staff goes above and beyond their call of duty. Very child friendly and safe.
Fantastic place. Spotless accommodation. Staff friendly and great with the kids.Restaurant food was really decent I was surprised.
The site could definitely do with another shower and toilet block, esp showers thats open 24hr! Life boys along either side of the river! An with the summer evenings long maybe have things open a little later, but even without those things its a brilliant park! Will definitely be returning
Located conveniently close to Dublin, which suited as we had a small baby and 2 older kids 7 and 5 years. We had been before on day pass first time staying. Stayed in a boutique Lodge. The Lodge suited our needs ,we brought an air fryer so made food at home some nights. Nice outdoor seating area but there was a smell from the toilets blowing over so made it less enjoyable to sit outside. The lodge was expensive for 3 days since you also have to pay for activities. Staff at activities were excellent and kind to the kids.we didn't have any trouble booking in and queues were not too long. Its great to see new activities from the previous year and we are excited about the new water activity.
Booked 2 adults and two children, 9 and 10 for our first camping trip in a tent. 3 days in total. Night times peaceful and days action packed for the kids. I'm not even going to start on the value for money as it was out of this world. The forest walk just outside the site was also a real treat. Loved the place, kids made friends and the family made memories.
My first time ever camping, im so glad we chose hidden valley. Check in was quick and easy . The staff were friendly and welcoming. Explained how everything worked there . He made us feel very welcomed. We picked our pitch which we were very happy with . Set up and started to enjoy our surroundings. The showers and toilets were constantly cleaned . The whole facilties and grounds are kept to a high standard. There is absolutely plenty to do . We felt very safe there . Staff were very friendly and approachable. The food was lovely reasonable priced . The place is so well run . We had a brilliant time there . Would definitely recommend. The activities are brilliant for both adults and children. We will definitely be back . I could not fault the place. Thank you its a 10/10 .Everything you could ever need .
We had a fantastic 7 night stay with our caravan. The kids enjoyed all of the activities and parks, and were never bored once. We had a fantastic week weather wise and we spent a lot of time down at the river, with most people using rubber rings or inflatable kayaks. We also got takeaway bags of chips from the snack bar on occasion, and they're sizeable, so good to accompany your own dinner. Its close to Rathdrum village where we were able to top up food at the local butchers ans Centra etc. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we were are planning on returning next year. A few areas of improvements that would make our next stay even better. Athough we did see staff cleaning the bathrooms/showers, with such a high traffic of people they do need more frequent attention. Most evenings it was incredibly noisy until nearly 11pm - they should enforce the fines to prevent this. We did see quite a few rats about but with no noticeable pest control measures in place. We will be back!!
Very enjoyable stay. A stairs gate would have been very useful in keeping our toddler safe but otherwise no complaints
We had a fabulous 5 nights in Hidden Valley with friends and enjoyed multiple activities while there. The children had an amazing time. I did however find it far more expensive than previous years. The cost of the 4 activity bands had gone up €14 in the space of a year. Now I do appreciate that expenses have gone up for every business but this seemed a huge jump. We ate in the restaurant one night and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful at every point of contact throughout the campsite. Toilets were clean however I felt the showers could do with a little extra clean during the day. I also found the showers temperamental ie. Cold or barely warm. We had great sleeps there was only 1 night where teenagers messed and caused noise until 2am but the rest of our stay there was very little noise after 11:30ish. Everything else from the playgrounds to the river and everything in-between is fantastic. Overall we had a great time and will return again.
