Hidden Valley is a serene haven of relaxation. Set in a beautiful valley with sites overlooking the tranquil waters of the Avonmore River and a glassy, private lake, The park offers guests the opportunity to experience a holiday amid an abundance of wildlife including kingfishers, cranes, wild geese, ducks, otters and pheasant.
Hidden Valley Holiday Park attracts couples and families seeking a peaceful, family-fun holiday in picturesque surroundings. The park offers both hard-standing and grass sites, each with electric, water and grey waste. The park also has a fantastic choice of boutique glamping lodges for those looking for an outdoor getaway with all the views of camping but with all the comforts of home.
The Park was formed in 2005 and is owned and operated by The Williams family. In the first three years of operation, the owners upgraded the holiday park from a 2-star park into a 4-star Failte Ireland approved park offering modern facilities and great value for couples and families alike. As a family owned and operated business we take great pride in assuring our guests a fantastic and memorable holiday.
The park is located in Rathdrum (“Ringfort of the Ridge”), which was originally the main town of Co. Wicklow, and is still well serviced by both train and bus. The town is situated high on the western side of the beautiful Avonmore Valley and offers the tourist scenic views of the Avonmore River, which flows through the Vale of Clara. The Rathdrum railway station opened on July 18th, 1863.
Rathdrum is well known for the Avondale House and Forest Park, which was home to Charles Stewart Parnell – one of the greatest political leaders of modern Irish History. The grounds offer excellent forest/river walks and picnics.
Rathdrum was also well known for the Rathdrum International Cartoon Festival. The Cartoon Inn displays the work of Bill Eirner, Hunt Emereson, Ulrich Schroeder, Bob Foster, which are among some of the famous artists whose work can be seen at close quarter. The Cartoon Inn is famed far and wide for the rich and humour cartoons which adorn its welcoming walls.

Friendly very efficient staff greeted us at reception. Park very well laid out. Facilities were very well maintained. Loads to do on site for children. There was a restaurant for food but we didn't try it. 15 minute walk to Rathdrum Village which had a good supermarket, chipper, Chinese and we saw a couple of pubs. Lovely walk from the park along the river. We went to Beyond the Trees which was a 5 minute drive.
Water based activities are really usable in summer as the kayaks let water through and soak your clothes. Nobody advised us about this in advance. Didn’t like the idea of paying extra for all activities having paid €48 for one night for two people.
We stayed here for a week in early April and found the very well managed and with lots of facilities. It's ideally located for those travelling on the M11 and is a perfect jumping-off point for touring in Wicklow.
Staff are very friendly and helped so much. The restaurant was also great and have gluten free options which my coeliac daughter loved. Food was great.I will say is the noise curfew isn't strict enough as kids were still running around at 11pm and adults were loud at 12pm at night, but that is not your fault. It's a great place to stay, I do wish you got allocated plots though and we didn't have any green areas beside us as the people beside us too their own green area and ours with their 2 cars. There is so much to do there but a bit pricey.
Great family fun weekend only issues is the beds in the loadge are so uncomterable really need to be updated
We had the best time in hidden valley with our child there was always something to do and the food in the lake house was lovely staff was amazing
Highly recommend to anyone with kids or even if you just want a nice relaxing camping trip
Lovely campsite , well kept and clan. Prices of activities a bit expensive is only thing putting us off going back
We stayed for 3 nights at Easter as a family of five in the boutique lodge. We have been caravaning now for 4 years but unfortunately the hidden valley does not accommodate for twin axel caravans so we had to pay to stay in a lodge as we always wanted to bring the kids here. It was expensive considering we have a great caravan that we could have brought with us which is such a shame. Although we where disappointed with not being able to get full use of our caravan the lodges where perfect. Spotless clean and everything we needed in them. We made some great memories and lots of activities for the kids which they absolutely loved. Would definitely recommend. Many thanks
We got told to leave playground just before 8pm and there's very little then on for kids after that. On easter break etc kids tend to stay up a bit later and would be nice to have something to do. There just wasn't anything on to suit them
