Hidden Valley is a serene haven of relaxation. Set in a beautiful valley with sites overlooking the tranquil waters of the Avonmore River and a glassy, private lake, The park offers guests the opportunity to experience a holiday amid an abundance of wildlife including kingfishers, cranes, wild geese, ducks, otters and pheasant.

Hidden Valley Holiday Park attracts couples and families seeking a peaceful, family-fun holiday in picturesque surroundings. The park offers both hard-standing and grass sites, each with electric, water and grey waste. The park also has a fantastic choice of boutique glamping lodges for those looking for an outdoor getaway with all the views of camping but with all the comforts of home.

The Park was formed in 2005 and is owned and operated by The Williams family. In the first three years of operation, the owners upgraded the holiday park from a 2-star park into a 4-star Failte Ireland approved park offering modern facilities and great value for couples and families alike. As a family owned and operated business we take great pride in assuring our guests a fantastic and memorable holiday.

The park is located in Rathdrum (“Ringfort of the Ridge”), which was originally the main town of Co. Wicklow, and is still well serviced by both train and bus. The town is situated high on the western side of the beautiful Avonmore Valley and offers the tourist scenic views of the Avonmore River, which flows through the Vale of Clara. The Rathdrum railway station opened on July 18th, 1863.

Rathdrum is well known for the Avondale House and Forest Park, which was home to Charles Stewart Parnell – one of the greatest political leaders of modern Irish History. The grounds offer excellent forest/river walks and picnics.

Rathdrum was also well known for the Rathdrum International Cartoon Festival. The Cartoon Inn displays the work of Bill Eirner, Hunt Emereson, Ulrich Schroeder, Bob Foster, which are among some of the famous artists whose work can be seen at close quarter. The Cartoon Inn is famed far and wide for the rich and humour cartoons which adorn its welcoming walls.

Absolutely amazing

Osborne, Desmond - 10/06/2024

Our experience was amazing the children didnt want to go home it was our best ever camp site so far and also been dog friendly is a huge help as we go no where without our little dog only thing is I noticed when going to rebook our stay in July that dogs are not allowed in July and August that was a real let down for us and also for family that where going to come with us this time. Other camp sites are allowing dogs so unfortunately we will have to camp somewhere else that suits our family. It really is a pity changing that could bring more regular customers I think it should be something to look into.

Always a great stay at Hidden Valley

2nd time camping at Hidden Valley with friends, great time had by all. Great facilities bathrooms cleaned regularly, fun activities and lovely pleasant staff. Curfew is great makes the experience more enjoyable, but some groups are big and take over more areas / walkways with gazebos which could be a concern if not managed. Great stay and will definitely return & recommend.

Noise

Duff, Karen - 09/06/2024

This is the first time I found the noise an issue, it was absolutely packed and I felt like it was more of a party place than a family place this time, I'm hoping this was just a once off as have a week booked in July. Found security were much more lax this year in comparison to before. Am worried about July and hoping I don't live to regret it. Otherwise staff friendly, place clean, food a bit pricey.

Well the weather was on our side so the place looked amazing, clean and busy

Doyle, Jennifer - 08/06/2024

Staff on desk were friendly and I found staff running the activities were extremely friendly and had plenty of time for the kids. Our lodge was spotless and the whole resort was clean. We didn't leave the resort as there was too much to do on site! (Only to go to Arklow to get more clothes as we stayed an extra night) . We stayed in River Valley before and headed to Brittas Bay beach and to Aughrim fishing for the day but Hidden Valley is our new fav. It is expensive to stay here and some activities are more expensive than others. It would be good to include a free activity when you book or discounts if you're staying there. The restaurants food was lovely and reasonable too with a great selection. One fault would be the very late check-in and early checkout times considering it's €245 a night!

We had fun

The resort is great. Set in lovely grounds, on a river, surrounded by trees. Lots of activities tod but all cost money. Great playgrounds. Very fast and friendly service in the restaurant. I was there with my 5 year old daughter. It would have been better with friends. I also drove from cork which is a long drive. Curfew is at 10 which is great. The first night someone came around to tell everyone and everyone went in their tents and were quiet the second night no one came around and it wasn't adhered to by my neighbours who kept me awake until 1.30am which I wouldn't have minded if I dint have a 3 hour drive ahead of me the next morning. Over all a very fun experience with lovely staff but due to the long drive and the noisy neighbours I don't think I'll go again. Don't let that put you off. It's a wonderful spot

The campsite was perfect for our family and had plenty for the children to occupy them. Great amenities

The campsite was perfect for our family and had plenty for the children to occupy them. Great amenities and safe for them to play. The only thing I would say is some of the activities finish early at 5pm which we found a little early. Would definitely recommend to anyone with children

Great for families, kids had a wonderful time

We stayed in the XL boutique lodged, it was great no issues at all. It was clean, spacious and perfect for us. The facilities were great and plenty to do. The only thing I would say say is it is expensive, it would be good to have some discount if staying on site. Staff were ok, we didn't get much information when checking in and restaurant staff seemed very busy all the time and chatting amongst themselves but no complaints to make. We will be back and maybe tent camp next time to reduce costs

Good but one complaint

Kelly, John - 07/06/2024

Generally good facilities but we did have one experience which was very disappointing. We booked the downhill tubing online for Sunday evening (2nd June) but didn't realize that you had to pick up a wrist band in the office first. The girl running the activity was unfriendly from the start and offered no help. We eventually got the wristbands but the kids had now had missed half the activity time. Close to the end of the activity, one of my kids was allowed back up for a final turn but the girl then stopped his brother who was coming right behind him. I asked could she let him up as they are brothers and its important to them that they would get equal goes. But she was again very unfriendly and very unaccommodating, refusing to let him go and leaving my kid very upset. The interactions you have with staff can define the experience and that particular person unfortunately left us very unimpressed.
