Spanning 14 acres, this AA 5 Gold Pennant site is based close to the gorgeous Suffolk Coast and has garnered a string of prestigious awards over the years. These include David Bellamy Gold Awards for conservation and a place in Practical Caravaners' 'Top 100' campsites in the country—testaments to its excellence and popularity among guests.
The site offers a great range of pitches, catering to motorhomes, campervans, caravans, and tents. From fully serviced hardstanding pitches to grass serviced pitches and standard pitches, Haw Wood Farm Caravan Park provides a variety of options to suit every camper's preference. The commitment to harmonising with nature is evident in the adjacent Wild Flower and Young Woodland Walk, inviting visitors to indulge in peaceful strolls amidst the beauty of native flora and fauna.
One of the standout features of Haw Wood Farm is its meticulously maintained amenities. A 2022 refurbishment project resulted in Platinum Award-winning bathrooms that boast underfloor heating for comfort during cooler evenings and winter months. The facilities include shower and toilet rooms with hand dryers, hair dryers, and full-length mirrors. Families can make use of the self-contained family bathrooms, complete with shower, toilet, sink, and baby change units, while an accessible shower room caters to wheelchair users.
The wash up and laundry facility in the main building offers convenience with large sinks for washing up, a freezer for ice, and washing machines and tumble dryers, enabling campers to pack lighter and stay longer. The on-site shop is well-stocked and reasonably priced, providing everything from daily essentials to camping equipment and local products.
For those who prefer to let someone else do the cooking, the on-site cafe welcomes guests with a variety of options. The menu, especially extended during the summer, offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives, ensuring a diverse and inclusive dining experience.
Families with well-behaved dogs are welcomed at Haw Wood Farm. While on a lead around the park, dogs can enjoy freedom in a large grazing meadow, which provides a space for them to stretch their legs and play freely. The highlight for many children is the playground, where diverse equipment and a fun atmosphere create lasting memories and foster new friendships.
Haw Wood Farm's commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in its use of a biomass boiler to heat all hot water on-site. The boiler is fuelled by wood chips collected from the Hinton Estate, showcasing the site's dedication to eco-friendly practices.
Beyond the Park, Haw Wood Farm offers proximity to memorable family days out. The stunning Dunwich Beach, just 4 miles away, provides a picturesque coastal escape accessible by a short drive. Minsmere, recognized as one of the best birdwatching sites in Britain, sits a mere 5 miles from Haw Wood Farm, offering nature trails and birdwatching hides for enthusiasts and families alike.

Cannot recommend Haw Wood Farm Campsite enough. Recently visited for the first time and already planning our next visit. We also booked an additional night whilst there as we were having such a great holiday and didnt want to leave.Amazing facilities which were clean and well looked after, staff were friendly and welcoming, plots were a great size and the whole site was very well looked after. It was great having the shop and cafe on site and the pizza and cocktail night and fish and chip night were great ideas tooKids loved the park there and the site is also only a short drive to many attractions. We enjoyed crabbing and the beach at Walberswick and a trip to Southwold but other campers told us about many others days out which we are looking forward to trying during our next visit.
We've not been anywhere else for 8 years - nothing compares to Haw Wood! 2nd year using our caravan, not without its challenges. There's always amazing people on the site that offer to help and I'm sure Dan is sick of me by now with the drama's I have every year ha ha. Dan & Georgina are so lovely and always willing to help (thank you again for the lend of the socket wrenches!)This visit was fab again, we met up with people we met last year which made the holiday more enjoyable. We all love our trips to Southwold and Halesworth. Its the only place I'm happy & comfortable to let the kids run off & play without worrying. The facilities are great, the toilet/shower blocks are modern and always clean.Counting down to our next trip in a couple of months time :)
We have been to Haw Wood farm for the last 4 years now, it is a great site, great facilities, super clean and friendly. We will be booking for next year soon.Andrew
Lovely site, large pitches and spotlessly clean.
Loved the set up of the camp and the attention to the smaller details.Pitches are spacious and well maintained.Playground is also well maintained, with plenty of games for the kids. The shop serves good food and sells all the items you could ever want for a camping trip.Toilets/showers are very clean and well maintained.
Having spent 3 nights at Hawwood farm I can honestly say what a find ! Beautiful kept pitches , lovely park for the children, Beautiful toilets and wash facilities The farm shop was so good too , fantastic prices (that don’t rip you off for a change)Will definitely go back
We have stayed at Haw wood many times over the last decade. Always friendly atmosphere and welcoming staff. Good size pitches and lovely clean bathrooms. Our children love the park and we love the fact that the site is a low level noise policy after 10pm meaning everyone can enjoy a relaxing peaceful sleep. There are some amazing walks and this site is extremely dog friendly with the added bonus of an inclosed dog walking area on the site. Haw Wood Farm is very close to many glorious days out from Dunwich itself to Aldeburgh, Southwold, etcSome lovely places to go out for meals, the Fox inn, White Heart and the 3 magpies is just a short walk up the road for some delicious pastries and pies.
It was our first time visiting this site, with it having been ‘on my list’ for a while. It certainly lived up to all our expectations! Lovely big pitches, excellent facilities, great location and helped along by the glorious weather. We loved getting pastries and coffee in the cafe in the morning, and a beer in the afternoon. Lovely meal at the Fox Inn too which was recommended. The only niggle was the hot water in the showers was very sporadic, a couple of times we got no hot water at all. It was ok because it was during the heatwave so we didn’t mind the cooler water, but I can see this being a much bigger problem at other times. We would have loved to see the dividers between pitches being hedged rather than low grass.. while the pitches are big, they’re not wide so of an evening you do feel a bit ‘on top’ of the people Nextdoor unless you put a windbreak up, and we kept ending up with the nextdoor kids balls/ planes/ frisbees hitting our car, but this wouldn’t stop us coming
Haw Wood is just a really great campsite to stay at, the pitches are really well laid out and spacious and always very well kept. We always stay in one of the small meadows at the bottom of the site as we like the more cozy feel of it with the surrounding hedges, but there’s a big field if you prefer the openness of that. The facilities are always tip top, the toilets and showers are very, very good and always spotless. The staff are friendly and helpful and we’ll be definitely coming back with the hounds next time, and they also have a designated dog walking field and a great wild flower and woodland walk. This was our first time staying in our new caravan, we found the motor home/caravan service point clean and easy to use. From a purely selfish pov, my only gripe is that the site shop/cafe isn’t open all day, but but that really is my only criticism, and let’s face it, not exactly life altering stuff!!. Very much looking forward to our next visit. Well done Haw Wood, keep it up 👍👌
