Spanning 14 acres, this AA 5 Gold Pennant site is based close to the gorgeous Suffolk Coast and has garnered a string of prestigious awards over the years. These include David Bellamy Gold Awards for conservation and a place in Practical Caravaners' 'Top 100' campsites in the country—testaments to its excellence and popularity among guests.
The site offers a great range of pitches, catering to motorhomes, campervans, caravans, and tents. From fully serviced hardstanding pitches to grass serviced pitches and standard pitches, Haw Wood Farm Caravan Park provides a variety of options to suit every camper's preference. The commitment to harmonising with nature is evident in the adjacent Wild Flower and Young Woodland Walk, inviting visitors to indulge in peaceful strolls amidst the beauty of native flora and fauna.
One of the standout features of Haw Wood Farm is its meticulously maintained amenities. A 2022 refurbishment project resulted in Platinum Award-winning bathrooms that boast underfloor heating for comfort during cooler evenings and winter months. The facilities include shower and toilet rooms with hand dryers, hair dryers, and full-length mirrors. Families can make use of the self-contained family bathrooms, complete with shower, toilet, sink, and baby change units, while an accessible shower room caters to wheelchair users.
The wash up and laundry facility in the main building offers convenience with large sinks for washing up, a freezer for ice, and washing machines and tumble dryers, enabling campers to pack lighter and stay longer. The on-site shop is well-stocked and reasonably priced, providing everything from daily essentials to camping equipment and local products.
For those who prefer to let someone else do the cooking, the on-site cafe welcomes guests with a variety of options. The menu, especially extended during the summer, offers vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives, ensuring a diverse and inclusive dining experience.
Families with well-behaved dogs are welcomed at Haw Wood Farm. While on a lead around the park, dogs can enjoy freedom in a large grazing meadow, which provides a space for them to stretch their legs and play freely. The highlight for many children is the playground, where diverse equipment and a fun atmosphere create lasting memories and foster new friendships.
Haw Wood Farm's commitment to environmental sustainability is evident in its use of a biomass boiler to heat all hot water on-site. The boiler is fuelled by wood chips collected from the Hinton Estate, showcasing the site's dedication to eco-friendly practices.
Beyond the Park, Haw Wood Farm offers proximity to memorable family days out. The stunning Dunwich Beach, just 4 miles away, provides a picturesque coastal escape accessible by a short drive. Minsmere, recognized as one of the best birdwatching sites in Britain, sits a mere 5 miles from Haw Wood Farm, offering nature trails and birdwatching hides for enthusiasts and families alike.

We love this site, the staff are brilliant, helpful in every way. The children have a fabulous safe play park area, the shop is well stocked and, the cafe for breakfast and a cocktail at the weekend evening's with a pizza is great. There are fabulous beaches just a few minutes drive away all with a place to eat and have a coffee. Most definitely a good value holiday destination.
Our 2nd visit here & definitely not our last. We came during quiet times so had no problem with showers etc. It's peaceful, well looked after & you can choose your own pitch. WiFi is only really available around the reception area which can be a pain, the phone signal can also be a bit iffy.I'd imagine during school holidays it can be very busy & there is a large play area!!! We'll be back again!!
Site is easy to find and well signposted. Staff are super friendly and while I only stayed 1 night, it was well worth it. I think I visited during a non-conventional stay ie a week day but I still managed to keep myself busy with actives around. Pitches are well marked as well which makes it beneficial for knowing where you can pitch. I was in the furthest field which I was well aware of but Ash bin or a toilet block closer would have been appreciated but again I chose that pitch as the cost of that. I think it would be great to change every pitch into a serviced pitch and then during booking or not thats when an extra cost of electrics can be added but again I dont use electrics so wouldn't know the benefit of serviced pitches.
We had a lovely stay at this campsite. The site was clean, peaceful, and well maintained, with good facilities and plenty of space for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the surroundings were perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return again.
As ever there was a friendly greeting, good size pitches and immaculate facilities. The stay was spoilt a little by unruly children on the next pitch so we probably wouldn't stay on a bank holiday again but otherwise it was first class
Brilliant place to stay with familyOnly down fall was showers were cold every time I went for one
We had three lovely nights at Haw Wood Farm. The site is extremely well maintained, with excellent bathroom facilities, a nice shop/cafe and friendly helpful staff. Out pitch did feel a little enclosed, sandwiched between two very large caravans, so we will go for a grass pitch for our next visit, as they are larger and more spaced out. Otherwise, one of the very best sites we have stayed at in decades of camping and touring.
Great sized pitches. The individual meadows for tourers are lovely and give a feeling of seclusion.Toilet and shower facilities are spotless. Immaculate! I think an extra shower block wouldn’t go amiss though.Staff sre lovely….. very friendly and helpful. The shop is great… not ridiculously expensive and well stocked. The cocktail cans seem to be the most expensive items. Now the bad bit….. the fish and chip night was shocking!!The chips were ok. The fish was diabolical!! A frozen supermarket fillet that should’ve been oven cooked. It was awful!! The chicken chunks were equally dreadful!!!!Seriously….. don’t be fooled by the photos on the website. Shocking!!! Shame cos everything else here is good.
We liked the site very much. We stayed with family who had children and they really liked the park. The pitches were a very good size. The toilet facilities were always clean and we liked the family showers. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We had fish and chips on Friday night, which we enjoyed, and it was nice to be able to eat at the campsite. On Sunday we ate at the local pub which the campsite recommended and the food was excellent. We also had pastries from the campsite shop one morning which were delicious. We hope to return one day.
