Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!

The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.

The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.

The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.

Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.

At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.

Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.

Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.

Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.

Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

Peaceful site, well located, friendly staff

Jones, Roy - 10/05/2026

Had an enjoyable two nights camping in early May. The pitches are fairly level and a good size. The main facilities were modern and clean, plus there were additional ‘portaloos’ in the field we camped in - which were much nicer than the name suggests.Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the site was so quiet and peaceful. It’s only a short walk into Coleford for restaurants and pubs, but be aware that many of these do not open (or can close early) on Mondays and Tuesdays.Would definitely recommend the site to friends.

Perfect Location for Exploring

Slater, Heather - 10/05/2026

The site is very clean and inviting with friendly staff, pitches are big enough for you to have space between you and the other campers, the shop and cafe add a great addition. It doesn’t feel over crowded and was really quiet after 10pm. There are fantastic walks directly from the campsite which means you can explore without needing the car. Additionally you are no more than 15-20 minutes from some of the key spots.

Excellent campsite

Bolt, Aileen - 10/05/2026

Another excellent stay at Greenacres - fabulous shower and toilet block which is kept spotless, also the laundry room which has washing machine and tumble dryer available for use. You are able to get breakfast rolls etc from the cafe/shop on site. The site is peaceful and always well kept grounds, and only a short distance from the town of Coleford. Highly recommended we visit twice or three times a year. The owners Maureen and Andy are brilliant as well as the staff in the office.

Great site.

Hopkins, Jim - 07/05/2026

I stayed with my school DofE group. 100 students and 15 staff. The team at Greenacres were so helpful and accommodating to all of our needs, especially when the weather turned and we had to send all of our students home. The site is lovely and spacious with great facilities. The toilet block is always clean and tidy with excellent facilities inside. Breakfast options were great and well prepared too.

A lovely quiet site in the forest of Deane.

Pickering, Nigel - 05/05/2026

We spent three nights here as a spring shakedown in our motorhome. The site is very clean and tidy with hard standing and grass pitches for caravans and motorhomesPitches have electrical hook up and as it’s metered you only pay for what you use which has to be good. It is charged via an app which is a bit confusing to start with.Water has to be collected or tanks filled near the taps as there do not appear to be any fully serviced pitches which as long as you have a roller barrel or small boy to carry for you it isn’t a problem. The site does have very limited facilities but what it has is very well cared for. Inside the reception office is a small shop selling essentials and also hot coffee, cakes, ice cream and even hot food. Once again limited but what there is is fine. If a simple and quiet site is what you are after this place is very nice and recommended. If you want bars and karaoke it’s not for you.

A little gem and reasonably priced.

Ross, Philliper - 04/05/2026

We had a lovey stay with family at Greenacres for three nights. We had two pitches next to each other which felt very spacious. We didn’t use electric but liked that it was available at every pitch for a charge. We were a little away from the main facilities block but there were toilets close by that were kept clean. In fact the whole site was clean and the owners were really friendly. We found Greenacres to be a good base for exploring the local area and we walked to the ostrich inn for Sunday lunch which was wonderful. Will definitely be back.
