Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!
The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.
The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.
The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.
Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.
At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.
Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.
Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.
Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.
Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

Greenacres is a really well run site, clean, tidy with excellent facilities. It is within easy reach of beautiful countryside and some great towns such as Monmouth and Ross on Wye. The site is family and dog friendly, and provides excellent breakfast baps and fresh croissant
Thank you so much for your review and recommendation. It's great to hear that you enjoyed your stay and our breakfast. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
We stayed here 3 years ago for a long weekend with family this time sadly we only stayed for one night but yet again it was quite clean and plenty of hot water it won’t be are last time either.
Thank you for your review and recommendation - we are glad that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to welcoming you back.
We felt very welcomed the hosts were friendly. We were given clear instructions where to park upon arrival. We enjoyed our stay the site had plenty of clean amenities. Sadly they do charge for dogs ( this always leaves a bitter taste ) there was no dog walking field or dog wash area provided so unsure why they cost to have with us. The showers were clean and spacious but have a push button which is very annoying it shut off every 15 seconds. So the *hold the botton with one hand and try and wash with the other* it’s always fun. The shower room was freezing cold so it wasn’t the best experience. Whilst the site provided a good emergency stop off for us we probably wouldn’t return.
Hi Lyndsay, thanks for your feedback. I have reviewed the heating and as a result have turned it on longer. Thank you - it is good to know this and be able to make it better. We are making some changes over the winter - I think a dog shower is a great idea and will get one added too. You would be surprised at the impact of some owners' dogs - I appreciate your dog was not an issue but some are, hence the cost. You can literally go out of the back gate into 44 acres of recreation fields for dog walks or cross the road into the wood. I will look at the push button showers but feel these are the best option for us at the moment - I am always happy to consider alternatives. We do hope you will stay another time and am sure you will enjoy a longer visit.
The location of this site for the Forest of Dean is good. Right on the doorstep of all the lovely forest walks. In terms of facilities- a few aspects felt below standard. The water points are a simple tap above a base earth - no drainage for the inevitable spills, hence becoming muddy.Grey water disposal points are situated with a raised drain surround that makes emptying a heavy waste water container difficult and impossible to empty without spillage onto the deck.Shower and toilets were perfectly functional, but without any apparent form of heating, meaning on colder mornings a great deal of condensationDuring our stay there was a power cut - nothing to do with the site. On discovery of no power a number of us tried the emergency number which went to voicemail. Reasons given - a) by the person that they were in the shower b) later by the person on-site that the persons second job was in an area of known poorer phone coverage. Contact was established after about 30 minu
Very friendly staff, good clean facilities and excellent site to access walks in Forest of Dean.
Thank you for your review and recommendation, we look forward to welcoming you back to Greenacres in the future.
I stayed here with 3 friends in campervans. When we arrived to a warm welcome our grass pitches were changed to hard standing (as a suggestion,we could have stuck to grass) because of the extreme rain. We we thoughtfully grouped together as they knew we had come as friends. Great facilities. Really clean. Extremely helpful and friendly staff . We will definitely return.
Thank you so much for your review and recommendation. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back.

We have stayed here before in July lovely campsite. Staff wonderful. Now being tye end of the season it was still very busy. Shope id great and there bacon rolls lush . Only to they shower water coukd have been a bit hotter. Plus tge lights go out in the gents that are on a pir . Last time we was there they said they were going ro lower the gray water waste empty pont not done as yet. But a great place. See you next time.
Thank you for your review and recommendation. It's great to hear that your enjoyed your stay and our bacon rolls!. Your feedback is appreciated - we will check the water temperatures and the timer on the lights. We look forward to welcoming you back.
Lovely friendly staff, nice and quiet, clean shower block. Lovely walks for the dogs through the kids field through a gate on the left then right down the path to a awesome open field we loved it. My only gripes were it's pitch black in the night so definitely need a torch to walk to the shower block! And they say breakfast is 8.30 til 10.30 from the shop but it's about a 15/20 minute wait for the machines to warm up so if you order you have to wait which we didn't have time for as we had to leave, which was a shame. But will definitely return and order food next time .
