Greenacres is a small family-run campsite. The nature of the site is laid-back and relaxed and we expect that all of our visitors behave considerately to other campers, to ensure everyone has a wonderful camping experience. After all you’re on holiday so you want to have a great time!

The campsite is located a stone’s throw from the iconic Symonds Yat and River Wye attractions, and on the edge of the main forest, so you will never be short of fun things to do.

The local area is well served with shops, pubs, restaurants, attractions and activities for all ages.

The campsite has 17 hard-standing pitches and 23 grass pitches all with electric hook-up. We are open for campervans, motorhomes and caravans but recommend that the larger ones pitch on the hard-standing areas.

Part of having a relaxed and fun camping trip is to have modern campsite facilities at your chosen destination.

At Greenacres, we know what our campers want and have been working hard to develop our family-run campsite over the years. We provide all the essential camping facilities on a relaxed campsite.

Campers of all ages are welcome including your fur babies! There are local walks in the woods and a park, 2 minutes walk away to exercise your dog.

Our family-friendly site has an onsite small play area.

Newland is a two minute drive or a short walk along the old Burial Path to find the Ostrich Pub - a quaint old fashioned English Pub.

Symonds Yat Rock with its amazing views and peregrine falcons is only a short drive away and a 3 mile hike through the woods. The site is well serviced with a public footpath running along its boundary.

my Greenacres experience

Mol, Fay - 06/08/2022

We had an amazing stay at Greenacres. it had a lovely feel there. we were really pleased when we discovered a walkway from the campsite, which took you to Coleford, and there was an amazing playground on route. there was also a little park on site, and felt comfortable for my daughter to go there alone, which gave her some independence. the toilet block was always very clean, and also had another loo close to our pitch. there was a shop, and the staff were very helpful and friendly! they delivered our fire pit, which you could hire for only ten pounds fir the entire visit, and they gave me some Gorilla tape to help mend my broken tent pole! lovely campsite- in an ideal location close to many walking/cycle routes. cant wait for next visit!

Overall ok not as good as was expecting

Reception / Staff very helpful (seemed short staffed). Facilities okAreas to improveWe were on pitch 25... for some reason there is a site footpath right next to pitch meaning that constant people walking next to caravan. Never seen this before on a site. Found this very obtrusive, and annoying. You would have people constantly walking past caravan windows!Toilet... clean but ridiculous toilet dispenser meaning that there seemed to be toilet paper on the floor every timeWaste Disposal. Site are aware of this but not easy to get rid of waste water as you have to lift waste master (38 litres) up about 2 foot to get rid of the water at the CHemical waste disposal area. Just needs to be redesigned etc

The campsite is beautiful and perfect place to relax, very clean bathrooms and modern, very friendly and helpful staff. Great owners my daughter injured herself playing doing gymnastics in the evening and they went out of their way to help us, by taking us to closest A&E and staying till my husband arrived. Great place but Great people really makes it a gem !

We had a lovely stay at Greenacres. I wish we'd booked a longer stay. It's a really nice layout, it was quite full when we stayed but didn't feel busy or cramped. The kids playing field is great to give kids somewhere to play safely. All facitues were new and clean. Lovely base to exore the Forest of Dean.

We used Greenacres for our first trip away in our new to us caravan as it was only 1hour from home and recommended to us by friends. We could not of been happier. Warm welcome making us feel very much at home by the staff, and friendly happy campers. Lovely site that was clean and modern. Will definitely be going back. Probably a lot.
