I was there for Triathlon . I also managed a lake swim the day before. Lovely setting. Dogs loved watching the ducks !! Very clean and friendly. We had Sunday lunch at the pub - within walking distance. We did a couple of longish walks from the site with the dogs. Lots of options. Very helpful for you to assist with jumpstarting our car on the Monday !
The campsite was good but unfortunately the shower and toilet block let it down, the ladies toilets doors didn’t shut the one to the shower and toilet didn’t even close !On Saturday when the weather was good and the park was packed the toilets were disgusting! I know it’s general public and I’m am aware how disrespectful people are (why I do t know) but I feel you need to have more staff on to clean the toilets .when the day visitor were suppose go in that night not one toilet in the ladies was working ,in the family bloke there was no toilet paper but the toilets were working . I know it’s not your fault how the public behave but I do think you need to address this situation especially at weekends when so many people were attending the lakes.
A lovely, relaxed stay here. People were very welcome and friendly and it was great to have useable amenities on site. We made great use of the children’s play area and the ‘Snack Shack’. Pitch was perfect, easy to check in and out without a bother. Thank you.
We had a lovely time camping on the grass pitch next to the lake. Kids had a blast at the play area and riding their bikes. A bit of a walk to the toilets but not an issue. Clean and well maintained park.
Lovely stay, kids loved the park and staff seemed friendly. Only downside is that facilities are near the entrance which was some distance from the camping fields.
We had a great couple.of nights at the resort, camping in the top field (near the church). It was nice and peaceful, the facilities were really clean and all the staff were really friendly! We plan to return during the summer holidays with friends we have recommended the site to, and can't wait!
Lovely clean camp site. Shower / toilet facilities are a little dated, but very clean and adequate. Very friendy at reception, the cafe, and other guests were friendly too. Beautiful walks, and a pub just a 10 minute walk up the road. Very nice (and reasonable) restaurant immediately next to the camp site. And a bus stop just a 10 minute walk which takes you into Halstead. I look forward to staying again.
Stayed last weekend. Lovely resort with a lovely lake, was a bit disappointed that we didn’t get to stay on the lake and was out next the the cemetery as we drove an hour and a half just to stay on the lake and booked it specifically for that reason so was a bit gutted that we drove all that way when there was a camp site 15 minutes from our house.
