Stayed here whilst doing the Loch Lomond and Cowal way, no one was there to book in however Annie was very responsive when contacted and directed me to make myself at home. Great facilities after a long day's hike, great shower, laundry and kitchen area. Several covered outdoor seating areas, with beautiful surroundings!
Perfect place on the COwal and Loch Lomond talk. Annie is so helpful : she bought food for us!
Glendaruel is a hidden gem. On the Cowal peninsula, most campsite or caravan parks are near a loch or the sea. Not this one. Which may explain why it's a hidden gem. Its beautiful, spacious, well maintained, with excellent pitces, great facilities. The owner/manager of the campsite is a lovely lady and she'll make you feel at home. We definitely did. it was a pleasure sitting outside and seeing all the birds fly around. We easily counted 15 different species in close proximity in the span of a cup of coffee. This campsite is perfect for people walking because it actually has dedicated space for your small tent! It has a small kitchen with some amenities and plenty picknick benches, some of which are under roof and perfect for hikers on a rainy day. 10/10 can recommend. M & M from the Netherlands.
This is beautiful and well maintained campsite in a tranquil location. The owner was fantastic and so helpful throughout our stay which just wasn;t long enough. Really appreciated the little touches like the indoor kitchen with items to use that we hadn't packed and the covered outdoor seating area. The site was peaceful with pitches having plenty of space to enjoy the outdoor life. We would love to return next time we are in the area.
Glendaruel is such a beautiful place to stay! Annie made us very welcome and the facilities are excellent. We wanted a peaceful site in a beautiful location and that's exactly what we got! Thank you!
Lovely area, helpful staff ,not overcrowded surrounded by fields and sheep and cows, nice walks in the area.
Very well maintained site run by a lovely ladyExcellent facilities including laundryWe didn't use toilet or shower but they looked cleanI imagine when it's not school holidays it's quite but unfortunately we had a noisy family close who's kids flew toy planes and thought nothing of it when they hit other peoples vehicles including our motorhome and made noise up to midnight this is not the sites fault it's just some people have no concern for others and we like total peace and quiet so shouldn't have booked during holiday time
We returned to Glendaruel for two nights this year, after staying one night last year. On both occasions we were en route to another destination to meet with friends and family. Its a beautiful location and very quiet. Both times we camped in our 2 man tent: most other folks on the site were in campervans or static caravans. There is a covered eating area with a couple of picnic benches right next to the indoor washing up facilities (which also had a kettle, microwave and fridge) and we cooked our meals on our gas stove on one of these tables, protected from the rain. Super toilet and shower facilities with plenty of hot water. Annie was always helpful and would wave when seeing us around the site. We visited a number of locations in the area, gardens, beaches, churches, the Smiddy, and enoyed a couple of lovely cycle rides in the evenings on the quiet back roads locally.
How did Glendauruel manage to turn the world off. Its so peaceful
Lovely quiet and friendly park immersed in nature. We stayed in the little camping lodge which was clean, cosy and very well equipped, even had a fridge which we were not expecting. Can’t wait to return, a nice change to camping ensuring we were warm and dry whatever the weather .
