For the 4rd time we eerst glandaruel and as always it was a pleasure. Every holiday we spent in Scotland we have been and will be at this place. The owls in the event, the landscape and the facilities are highest standards possible. A very special place. Don't tell anyone else ;-) Kirsten and John.
I normally stay at another site near Oban. On arrival at this site my first impression was that it was small and quiet. It's location is on a main road and was easy to find but is located well away from Dunoon. This is reflected in the price being very good value for money. I couldn't fault the friendliness or the cleanliness. There are forest walks and a picturesque waterfall near by. If you want to get away from the crowds then this is the place to go.
We absolutely loved this campsite. We stayed in a tent and found the site to be spacious, peaceful, and incredibly well looked after. The facilities were second to none, with a fridge available to store your food and a microwave for preparing meals – little touches that made camping even easier. The location is perfect for walking, with plenty of scenic routes to explore right from the campsite and in the surrounding area. During our stay, we also visited Portavadie Spa, which is only around a 25-minute drive away and well worth a visit.Just be prepared to deal with some midges as they can be pesky!A big thank you to Angie for being so friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. We’d happily recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful base to explore the area and wouldn’t hesitate to return.
Well laid out. You can hear the nature around you no huddle or bussel of modern life. Plenty of pleasant walks. Loads of places to visit within a short distance. Only concern is toilet and shower facilities. There are two toilet shower blocks but only one in use. I would suggest opening both and having one for male and one for female.
Glendaruel Caravan Park is a is set in a beautiful, rural setting in Argyll. It is a small, quiet site which is ideal if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life. It is run by Annie whose warm and friendly disposition adds to the charm of the site. The facilities for both caravanners and campers are excellent and spotlessly clean. The nearest village, which has two small supermarkets, is just a 9 mile scenic drive away. Ideally placed for accessing the ferry to the Island of Bute and Portavadie Marina and Leisure Centre are well worth a visit.
The most beautiful location, absolutely idyllic views from the wooden cabins, lovely staff.
This is a gem of a site in a quiet glen and separated from the main road by a long private track. The setting is beautiful, with a fine selection of broad-leaved trees, legacy of the big house to which they once belonged. Annie was there with a welcome on arrival. I stayed 4 nights and did not drive at all. There are plenty of walks to do. The site is well maintained. Mid week in June I found it very peaceful.
Beautifully located campsite. Tidy pitches however they felt quite close together. Only 2 showers (one of these accessible), although I guess this might be all that is ever needed? Inside washing-up facilities which was fab as the midges were about. Kitchen also had a freezer, a microwave and a kettle, as well as DVDs and books.
It's a great pity we live so far away from Glendaruel, otherwise we would be back every month! Annie was very helpful when we phoned on arrival at the entrance gate and the pitch she suggested was excellent. It was lovely to meet her later as she did her evening rounds. We only stayed one night as we travelled homeward but before we left enjoyed walking up to the waterfall behind the site and visiting Tighnabruiach.
