Glendaruel is in a beautiful setting. The park itself is lovely and relaxing. Toilet facilities and kitchen well looked after, always clean. Annie, the owner is extremely helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. Worth noting you need to come prepared as you are a few miles from the nearest shop. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing stay in a,stunning location, Glendaruel is just perfect .
A gem of a site, made especially attractive by the kindness and consideration of Annie and Peter (whose dexterity on the lawnmower never fails to impress). Because it's in a relatively little known corner of Argyll and the access is along a main road which leads to nowhere on the standard tourist itinerary, the site is generally quiet and peaceful -- which is why we chose it -- although the inevitable corollary is that if you arrive a litre of milk short the nearest shop is a 30 min drive. In compensation there are three very decent local hotels which provide good (if fairly pricey) food for non residents and several of the local householders can supply delicious eggs when their hens are in lay. We shall definitely be back next season.
My husband and I recently enjoyed a mini break at Glendaruel Caravan Park, and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. This was our second visit to the park. The cabin we stayed in was the perfect little retreat—it was genuinely cosy, incredibly peaceful, and clearly well-maintained. It provided the tranquil escape we were looking for.Beyond the lovely accommodation, the park itself is run beautifully. The facilities are above average and meticulously looked after, making our stay easy and comfortable. However, what truly elevated our entire experience was the owner, Annie. She is an absolute joy to be around—so welcoming, helpful, and clearly passionate about ensuring every guest has a fantastic time, which makes all the difference.
Delighted to come across this cabin in the woods. We had a warm welcome from the owner and enjoyed 2 relaxing nights here. The cabin itself is very comfortable and obviously well insulated against the elements. It has fantastic big windows to enjoy the open views and the immaculate facilities are only a short walk away. Thoroughly recommend.
I have stayed many times and would not consider going anywhere else. The grounds are always beautiful and the setting is so peaceful. Annie is a first class host. The caravan is well equipped and extremely comfortable. You will not be disappointed.
It is always lovely to see you back in Glendaruel. Thank you for taking the time to review and share your fabulous autumn photos. Look forward to seeing you next year.
Excellent site, very clean. Nice walk into the village via the old railway tracks.
I was in the bothie for 4 nights while helping out at an archaeological dig at Creag Liath Neolithic site. It was warm and dry when I was wet and muddy. Lovely listening to the owls.
Glendaruel is a lovely site, beautifully wooded in an equally beautiful glen. The facilities are always pristine.Annie, whose site it is, is always very friendly and helpful. There are good walks around the area and the Isle of Bute, with a very short ferry trip is a good place to spend a day. The Oystercatcher at Otter Ferry is one of our favourite restaurants.
The Cowal peninsula is a very beautiful place. Easy to get to from Gourock on the Dunoon ferry. Recommend Benmore botanical gardens and cycling along loch Fyne to Otter ferry. Nice location for a beer and fish dish in the Oystercatcher Inn
