Hadn’t booked - just turned up and received a very warm welcome from Annie. She offered us a discount voucher for Benmore botanical gardens, so we went and they were well worth visiting. We had a potential problem with our motorhome, so she recommended a local garage, who were very helpful.Well set out spacious pitches and lots of additional unexpected facilities - a microwave, kettle, coffee, tea, cups, pots and pans etc in the wash-up area.Would definitely recommend
What an amazing site nestled in a valley surrounded by trees and farmland so very quiet except for birdsong. The site is nicely laid out with generous sized pitches for campervan caravans and tents. The site is dog friendly too which is a bonus. The wash facilities are spacious and very clean plenty of warm showers a small kitchen area and covered seating area. Nice waking on and from the site with a couple of interesting historic sites to visit. The site is remote no shops or pubs nearby so you need to bring supplies- was one of its charms!
This was our first visit to a campsite in our new campervan, it is easy to book online and easy to find. Annie greeted us and showed us to our spot, there were a few ouher vans but not too many, also there are some cute wee wooden huts for rent. Our pitch was next to some beautiful big old trees, it has an electric hook up and nearby water sour e. The toilet /shower block is immaculate, there's a place to empty the toilet cassette, a kitchen and washing up area everything you need.It would be a great place for kids with a playing field, a climbing frame and beautiful woodland walks.A wonderful place run by lovely friendly, helpful people.
3 friends and I stayed at Glendaruel, base for walking part of the Cowal Way, we camped, great facilities, beautiful surroundings.Annie & Fiona were very friendly. Facilities include kitchen, with microwave, kettle, toaster, desktop fridge, washing up area, laundry, undercover outdoor seating area, showers & toilets.. everything clean Great value for money, going back again to complete more of the Cowal Way. Thank you
Tranquil setting in midst of beautiful scenery and fabulous facilities! Can’t fault it x
Glendaruel is the best camp site I have ever stayed in. It is beautifully laid out, perfectly equipped and immaculately maintained. The location is gorgeous too. So, what is the downside? There genuinely isn't one. The price was very reasonable too! Glendaruel sets the standard to which other sites should aspire.
We camped here for a night on a 4 day gravel bike tour of the Cowal Peninsula. It's a lovely site on the quiet back road in Glendaruel. Lovely flat tent pitches a short walk from the spotlessly clean facilities. Indoor kitchen area with small fridge, kettle, microwave and sink, plus a covered outdoor seated area should the weather be inclement. Lovely short woodland walks from the site. Annie the owner is very friendly, and goes the extra mile to help your stay be comfortable. Excellent local knowledge. Highly recommend this site.
We stayed for the weekend and had a lovely time. Admittedly the camp site is a fare way from the shop if you don't have a vehicle but, non the less the area is clean, beautiful, and lots to do. Friendly management and nice walks surrounding. Highly recommend.
What a wonderful place to relax ,well positioned to explore Argyle and Bute or just stay on site and wander round the woodland paths.Very good facilities, good gravel pitches and Annie is a friendly and knowledgeable host.We judge all campsites by this standard now and find ourselves saying this is nice but it's not Glendaruel.
The site is set back from the road and is really peaceful. The facilities are good and very clean and the site well looked after. Annie was very friendly and helpful, thank you for a great stay Very close to Benmore botanical gardens, a great place to visit. Nice bike ride to Tignabruich, taking in the views of Bute and the sea
