At Glendaruel get close to nature and enjoy the outdoors what ever the weather. The mature Park woodland is home to Red Squirrels and abundant Bird life. It is great base for road and mountain biking. In 2016 Danny MacAskill enjoyed some challenges at Portavadie on Argyll's Secret Coast and Mark Beaumont cycled the Cowal Way which can be accessed from the Park. The Magnificent Benmore Botanic Garden is only a 20 miles drive.
Historic Attractions, Interesting Art Galleries and Outdoor Adventure are all on offer in the Cowal Area. Ferries to Bute, Kintyre and Gourock can all be reached within 30 minutes. Food Lovers will not be disappointed in the quality of Food from Argyll. Great fresh local produce to simply prepare yourself or eat out at a choice of excellent Restaurants and Cafes within a 20 minute drive. The park also appeals to families with young children.
The park offer guests a choice of accommodation. Two & Three Bedroom Caravan Holiday Homes, Two New Camping Bothies and The Little camping lodge are situated on the edge of the park with open views up the Glen. We have a separate grassy area for camping. Cars can be parked next to tents when conditions are fair. Tent pitches without electric.
We have a separate grassy area for camping. Cars can be parked next to tents when conditions are fair. If there has been very wet conditions we do ask campers to park in the adjacent carpark. There are a number of benches in the field. We limit the number of tents giving everyone plenty of room. This is a great area to observe the dark skies. It is a short walk to the new facilities.
The cosy little lodge sits at the edge of the park with open views across the fields

Friendly and helpful owner, clean facilities, lovely location
Our fourth time staying at Glendaruel. It's a beautiful woodland site and very peaceful. The facilities are excellent. Annie is very friendly and helpful.
The site location is great, woodland and waterfall walk with red squirrels was lovely even in the rain. Quiet with minimal road noise.Toilet block only had 1 shower for everyone. 2 other toilets making 3 in total. Toilets were out of toilet roll, sharing 1 between all 3 cubicles until it ran out completely. Other toilet block locked. Seemed to be a cabin for campers with appliances and lots of pans, probably a washing up sink here too. Disabled shower room available. Chemical waste emptying point. Reception, shop locked which included the hub area for WiFi sadly. On the site the WiFi was patchy at best and no TV signal. Had to ring from gate and signal on phone wasn't good. Met on arrival, but not told where water was or how to get to walks etc, felt minimal interaction given, and then nobody around for 2 days. Both we and the site felt a little neglected. Recycling and bins at top of site. Travelled to Dunoon one day. Was a useful stopping point, site all gravel with patches of grass
Excellent one night stop. Very friendly reception. All facilities good. Took opportunity to do washing. Peaceful and well maintained.
Nestling in mature woods and surrounded by nature and wildlife this is a special place for relaxing.A warm welcome from the owner and good, clean facilities.Highly recommended!
Not enough facilities for the amount of campervans / caravans staying on site.Went out for the day, no cones available to mark which pitch we were using, came back to find pitch was taken by another campervan. Feels like this campsite is run on a shoestring.Whilst staying at site, a lonely female traveller was unable to contact owner to rent out a bothy. Will not be coming back. Also no local restaurants/pubs for evening meals.
I am very sorry that your stay at Glendaruel did not meet your expectations. I try to communicate the rural retreat that it is.We had adequate facilities open for the occupied units. At quiet times visitors can choose their own pitch, if they don't have something to mark the pitch I am very happy to supply a cone or chair. I had to be offsite on the afternoon of your arrival and I did let you know. We mention on our website to book in advance where possible. The female walker contacted me on arrival by email not phone or text. She had access to facilities and water. I did not have a bothy available and she did not have a tent. She walked to the bus and I hope is going to visit on another occasion. Our fabulous local is The Colintraive Hotel (8.5miles) 15 Minutes drive.
Everything about this site was perfect for us. Don’t change a thing.
It's on the grounds of a demolished big house, so big trees around. Great facilities and location. To be honest we (I) meant to book the campsite on the loch but got this one instead. We both agreed a good mistake!
3rd time I've stayed and its such a lovely place. So peaceful with amazing views all around. Showers/toilets and washing up area all very clean and well maintained. Lovely drive from Glasgow and plenty of places to visit from campsite. Can't wait to return next year .
Beautiful tranquil site with modern, spotlessly clean facilities. Will definitely return for longer than 1 night!
